Full time in Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid defeat Galatasaray 4-1 and top Group B to progress to the knockout stage in the Champions League as winners. Bale opened the scoring shortly after Sergio Ramos' sending off, but Madrid were quickly pegged back by Umut Bulut. Los Blancos turned on the style in the second period as Arbeloa, Di Maria, and Isco got on the scoresheet to make it a comprehensive victory. The Turkish champions passed up a massive opportunity to claim a win against 10 men, and they go on to Matchday six for a winner takes all match against Juventus. I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!
Just a couple of minutes of injury time added here. The visitors just want to be put out of their misery.
Last throw of the dice from Galatasaray as Melo is replaced by Ceyhun. The Brazilian was on a yellow card so it was important he was protected in order to be available for the crunch match against Juventus in the next round.
Mancini's men have looked a beaten team since, well, coming out after half time. They've shown barely any desire to get back into this match after going a goal down at 51 minutes. There's only a place in the knockout stage up for grabs, so why bother?
Sneijder tries his luck with a strike from the edge of the box but it was always rising and never really gives Casillas cause for concern. Madrid are cruising in the last few minutes here.
Madrid are temporarily down to nine men as Xabi Alonso receives some treatment. It looks like there is some blood on his shirt, so another will be needed from the bench.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL FOR REAL MADRID!!! SUPERB FROM ISCO!! The former Malaga man bursts into the box and latches on to a fortuitous loose ball before leaving Inan for dead with a clever touch inside. He finishes off the move with a neat finish into the corner! Madrid up 4-1!
Just over 10 minutes left for Galatasaray to get anything out of this, but it isn't really looking likely. If anyone looks like they are going to score, it's Madrid.
Madrid probably wont believe their luck at how easy this has been in the second period. Mancini's men have came out with an extremely poor attitude after the break and never really looked like taking the game to Los Blancos.
Third and final change from Ancelotti as Marcelo is replaced by Dani Carvajal, who'll slot in at right back, with Arbeloa moving over to the opposite full back position.
The visitors have improved slightly since the introduction of Sneijder and Riera. The former Liverpool man is providing some much needed width down the left and has got some decent crosses into the box.
Another chance wasted by Galatasaray. The visitors counterattack at pace through the middle and the ball comes to Umut Bulut, who attempts an extremely difficult chip over Casillas from an acute angle. It never troubles the Madrid goalkeeper.
What a save from Casillas! Melo heads a cross back into the danger area and Drogba rises above everyone to loop a header to the back post, but the Madrid keeper somehow retreated to tip the attempt over the bar!
Well, that's an extremely tired touch from Drogba. The Ivorian breaks a neck to get on the end of a cross out to the corner flag but his touch is lethargic and Madrid get the throw in.
And another change in quick succession from the visitors as Albert Riera replaces Amrabat. Both the starting Galatasaray wingers have had precious affect on proceedings.
Roberto Mancini responds quickly to that Madrid goal and introduces Wesley Sneijder in place of Bruma, who has been quiet.
Goal Ángel Di María
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLL FOR REAL MADRID!!! Arbeloa powers into the box on the overlap and reverses the ball back inside for Di Maria, who lashes a strike into the bottom right corner! 3-1! They are playing better with 10 men than they did with 11!
Real Madrid break through the middle and Isco looks to break through on a loose ball down the right but Nounkeu stabs the ball out of play to make an important interception. The hosts probably should have made more out of that counterattack!
ARBELOAAAAA!!! ALMOST A SCREAMER! The Madrid man looks to have his shooting boots on tonight as he executed a half-volley on the edge of the box that goes inches wide of the post! So unlucky!
Second change of the match from Real Madrid, and it's an intelligent one from Ancelotti. Casemiro comes off the pitch after his Champions League debut and is replaced by Xabi Alonso, who'll use the ball cleverly in that midfield.
Yellow Card Arbeloa
The Turks are just not taking advantage of having an extra man here. If anything, Real Madrid have looked the better side since the break.
Well, Arbeloa gets back down to Earth rather quickly as he earns a booking for taking a dive inside the Galatasaray box. There may have been a tiny bit of contact, but not enough to go down.
The faces on the Madrid bench were ones of shock there! Not the goalscorer they expected!
Assist Ángel Di María
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLL FOR REAL MADRID!! A COLLECTOR'S ITEM FOR ALVARO ARBELOA!! The former Liverpool man drifts in at the back post and converts Di Maria's cross with an accomplished finish into the bottom corner! 2-1 to Los Blancos!
Selcuk Inan picks up the ball just inside the centre circle and looks to spray a pass up top, but it bounced off the head of Melo and bounces fortuitously to the feet of Bruma.
Bruuummaaaa!! NO takers for Galatasaray! The Portuguese breaks beyond the Madrid defence down the right and lashes a cross to the back post, but none of his team-mates are there to convert!
We are back under way in Santiago Bernabeu!
Fifty-four per cent to 46% to Madrid in terms of possession in that first half. Galatasaray should bring that more in there favour as the match goes on though, with the man advantage.
Half time in Santiago Bernabeu. The match took a little while to get going but burst into life 27 minutes in when Sergio Ramos saw red for a professional foul on Umut Bulut. Bale put Madrid ahead with a superb free kick but it was only moments later that the Galatasaray man latched on to a pass from Drogba to finish past Casillas. 1-1 at the break! Anyone's game here!
Galatasaray are just patiently looking for an opening here, and look like the home team with their passing play inside the Madrid half. Is there a late first half goal here?
BAAAAAALLLEEE!!! HE SHOULD HAVE DONE MUCH BETTER! The Welshman ghosts into the penalty are and has plenty of time to pick his spot but instead blazes a strike way over from 15 yards!
Mancini's men are probing for a goal to take the lead before the break there. Madrid are playing incredibly deep and are leaving plenty of space for the visitors to knock the ball around.
How about that?! The Turks just ran straight up the park and scored! Madrid were still in celebration mode!
Assist Didier Drogba
Goal Umut Bulut
GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL FOR GALATASARAY!! THEY EQUALISE IMMEDIATELY!! Drogba stabs a gorgeous pass in between the Madrid defenders and Umut Bulut runs through before coolly finishing into the bottom corner! 1-1!
Goal Gareth Bale
GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLL FOR REAL MADRID!! Gareth Bale steps up and sends a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque free kick over the ball and past Iscan! It moved everywhere! 1-0!
Yellow Card Felipe Melo
And Melo earns his customary Champions League booking as he goes in very late on Pepe 25 yards out. Free kick to Madrid in a useful position.
They certainly look to have been given a boost in confidence here. Felipe Melo and Selcuk Inan have begun to see a lot more of the ball in midfield and it's now Madrid who are camped in their own half.
So it's going to be 11 men versus 10 for just over an hour here at Santiago Bernabeu. With the team that Madrid have out tonight, will Galatasaray ever have a better opportunity to claim the scalp of Los Blancos?
What a completely daft bit of play that was from Ramos. The ball would arguably have ran through to Casillas, and he should have done miles better in the build up to the tackle anyway.
Actually, it looks as if the substitute will be employed at centre-back next to Pepe.
Carlo Ancelotti is forced into a change and it's going to be Rodriguez for Rodriguez. Nacho comes on and will slip in at right-back, with Jese coming off.
Red Card Sergio Ramos
SERGIO RAMOS IS SENT OFF! THE MADRID MAN PULLS THE SHIRT OF UMUT BULUT AS THE GALATASARAY MAN BROKE THROUGH ON GOAL AND SEES RED FOR A PROFESSIONAL FOUL!
Disappointing from Inan as he sends the set-piece straight into the hands of Casillas.
Felipe Melo fires a pass into the feet of Drogba but Ivorian is hacked down from behind by Pepe. Free kick to the Turks 30 yards out. Decent position here.
Illarremendi collects possession deep inside the opposition half and sprays a lovely pass out to the right for Arbeloa. The former Sociedad man has strolled through the opening 20 minutes or so.
Isco steals possession in the centre circle and breaks forward through the middle. He slides the ball out to Jese but Nounkeu sees the ball out for a Galatasaray throw in deep down the right wing.
Good goalkeeping from Iscan. The Turkish champions' number two shows a clean pair of heels to rush from his goal to make the clearance when Bale looked to be latching on to a ball through the middle.
It's been all-Madrid in this opening period at Santiago Bernabeu. Galatasaray certainly look to be built for counterattacking football and are just soaking up the pressure here. They'll look to break at pace when they can.
Clever play from Pepe. The Portuguese is under pressure from Selcuk Inan at his own corner flag but just uses his body to force a foul out of the Gala captain.
Great play there though, one-touch football from everyone!
Almost a sensational move from Madrid! Illarramendi, Isco, Jese, and Di Maria are all involved but Isco leaves the ball for the Champions League debutant instead of taking it in, and Galatasaray scramble it clear!
Jese nearly finds a way through! The Madrid Castilla graduate finds space inside the box but takes one touch too many, which allows Selcuk Inan to make the all-important interception!
Arbeloa links up with Di Maria down the right and the Argentine looks to whip a cross into the box. It turns get by the first man though and Nounkeu nonchalantly clears into the stand.
Amrabat breaks forward down the left and cuts the ball back inside to Bruma, who twists and turns on the edge of the box but ultimately surrenders possession.
The Galatasaray man is back up again, and we can continue.
Casemiro and Eboue go in for a 50-50 in the middle of the park and the Ivory Coast international comes out the worst, and looks to be in a lot of pain in the middle of the park.
WHAT A MISS FROM BALE! The Welshman breaks through on goal one-on-one with the keeper but he curls a left-footed strike wide of the left-hand post! You would have put your house on him scoring that! Galatasaray let off the hook!
Umut Bulut puts pressure on the back of Arbeloa and forces the former Liverpool man back to Casillas, who clears up the park.
Two first Champions League starts for Casemiro and and Jese tonight for the hosts, let's see how they fair in the opening stages.
We are under way in Santiago Bernabeu!
Interestingly, no Sneijder or Yilmaz for the visitors tonight. Surely we'll see them at some point if things aren't going the way of the Turks?
The players take to the field and the awe-inspiring Champions League sounds out in the stadium!
On the opening match of the Champions League season this year, Madrid blew Galatasaray away at the Turk Telekom with a comprehensive 6-1 win. No such dominant win is required tonight though, only a draw.
This is surely Roberto Mancini's biggest test of his short Galatasaray career so far. He doesn't have a good managerial record in the Champions League, so he'll be looking to prove a point tonight.
The highest profile absentee for Madrid, naturally, is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese pulled up with a thigh injury during the 5-0 hammering of Almeria at the weekend.
There's no place in the starting line-up for Xabi Alonso, Karim Benzema, or Alvaro Morata, with rookie winger Jese Rodriguez being given the chance in attack.
Los Blancos enter the match tonight needing only a draw to secure top spot in the group, but Carlo Ancelotti has still made a few interesting selections for the match against the Turks.
Galatasaray (4-4-2): Iscan; Eboue, Zan, Chedjou, Nounkeu; Bruma, Felipe Melo, Selcuk Inan, Amrabat; Umut Bulut, Drogba.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Casemiro, Illarramendi; Bale, Isco, Di Maria; Jese.
I'm Martin Macdonald, and it is my pleasure to take you through the action!
