Live Commentary

  • That's all we have time for from the Worker's Stadium, as PSG win the Trophee des Champions for the second consecutive season! I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you all again next time!
  • Ibrahimovic was the man to make the difference, in a game of two halves. The first of which was high tempo, the second less so! A professional performance from Blanc's men, who looked in good shape despite having plenty of World Cup personnel missing.
  • FULL TIME! PSG WIN THE FRENCH SUPER CUP! The reigning Ligue 1 champions take the trophy in Beijing, beating Guingamp 2-0 courtesy of two goals from Ibrahimovic. Yatabare missed a penalty, but otherwise Les Parisiens looked comfortable throughout.
  • 90' + 5'
Mandanne tries to drive forward from deep, but Camara steps in assertively to rob the substitute of possession. The crowd want Guingamp to continue attacking, but they're looking rather tired and low on ideas.
  • 90' + 3'
Sirigu takes his time with a goal-kick, as PSG continue to try and run the clock down a little without needing to exert any energy. There are a few tired legs out there now, given the heat it's been a difficult place to play.
  • 90' + 1'
Ibrahimovic tries an audacious effort from the half-way line, which has Samassa scrambling back towards his own goal-line. That wasn't too far away, but he won't be completing his hat-trick in style.
  • 90'
Lucas drives from deep, before playing a smart one-two with Cavani, who releases the Brazilian with a backheel. Baca covers across well to slide in and deny the substitute just in time!
  • 89'
This second half continues to be a bit of a drag in terms of tempo, with Blanc's side clearly just trying to run down the clock and guard their clean sheet. They've been professional and organised, but really haven't been pushed to the wire by a lacklustre Guingamp outfit.
  • 87'
Lucas is Blanc's final change and will look to slot in on the right-hand side to shore up the PSG midfield. Guingamp are often in possession, but Les Parisiens are pressing effectively, with Marquinhos on hand to dominate aerially if early crosses are thrown into the penalty area.
  • 86'
    SubstitutionJavier Pastore Lucas
  • 85'
Cavani is muscled to the ground, meaning that Ibrahimovic has another chance to try his luck via a long-range free-kick. The Sweden international can only strike the wall once again, somewhat anticlimactically.
  • 83'
Mandanne tries to break down the right-hand side, but Digne and Marquinhos combine effectively to put the ball into touch. Guingamp are struggling to muster anything offensively, with Yatabare's penalty miss looking more glaring by the minute.
  • 81'
Less than ten minutes remain for Guingamp to worm their way back into this one, but PSG are the dominant force. The game is being played almost at walking pace, with Blanc's men happy to circulate the ball and bide their time. To concede now would certainly unsettle the Ligue 1 champions.
  • 79'
PSG are happy to hold onto the ball and take their time, with Guingamp unwilling the aimlessly chase shadows. They're trailing by two goals, however, meaning that they need to harry Les Parisiens somewhat in order to force the issue.
  • 77'
An early lofted through ball finds the head of Cavani, who flicks on to allow Ibrahimovic to run off him. Baca goes down, claiming the use of an elbow from the Uruguayan to gain leverage and the referee obliges, giving Guingamp a free-kick.
  • 76'
Van der Wiel takes no chances, clearing the ball behind for a Guingamp corner. Sirigu is able to rise highest to claim the delivery, denying the trailing side a way back into this contest. With around 20 minutes left to play, the Coupe de France winners are running out of time.
  • 74'
Chantome comes into the game in place of Bahebeck, meaning that Cavani should be able to play more centrally, where he should have more of an impact on proceedings.
  • 73'
    SubstitutionJean-Christophe Bahebeck Clément Chantôme
  • 72'
The two sides partake in another short water break, with Chantome readying himself to come on as a substitute for PSG. Mandanne is fine to continue after losing his footing and sliding heavily off the playing surface.
  • 71'
A couple of chances for Guingamp, as Alioui is substituted despite only coming on in the first half himself. A subdued Schwartz is withdrawn for Marveaux, with the Newcastle loanee definitely having some quality about him to make an impact.
  • 70'
    SubstitutionR. Schwartz Christophe Mandanne
  • 70'
    SubstitutionRachid Alioui Sylvain Marveaux
  • 69'
Thiago Motta curls in another near post corner delivery, but it's catching practice for Samassa once again. Yatabare tries to find Schwartz with a crossfield pass, but the Dane is caught offside, causing him to hoof the ball into touch through frustration.
  • 68'
Digne is nearly found in behind Jacobsen down the left-hand side, but the former Lille man can't find his touch. Bahebeck then drives to the right byline, who cuts back an intelligent cross, but Ibrahimovic and Cavani aren't able to muster up a finish and Sorbon clears!
  • 66'
Less than half an hour is left on the clock, with PSG continuing to look very comfortable. Cavani is found in behind the Guingamp lines, taking the ball down excellently, but can't find his finishing touch! He balloons a terrible effort miles over the crossbar!
  • 64'
Another effort from Alioui, but again the substitute fails to hit the target. Sirigu is happy to watch the ball bounce past his upright, as the Italy international continues to survive without being tested.
  • 63'
Cavani will be playing off the left-hand side, as something of an inside forward. Bahebeck wins a corner on the right byline, but Motta's delivery is easily caught by Samassa. Guingamp look to break, but Alioui's eventual shot is well blocked.
  • 62'
    SubstitutionHervin Ongenda Edinson Cavani
  • 61'
Verratti slides a pass into Ibrahimovic, who hurriedly works the ball out of his feet, before cannoning an effort at goal from long range! Samassa is easily able to gather up the ferocious attempt, before Cavani makes his way onto the field in place of the injured Ongenda.
  • 59'
Camara gives away possession almost suicidally on the edge of his penalty area, allowing for Yatabare to steal possession. He shifts the ball out of his feet quickly, before snatching at his second-time effort, firing high and wide, wasting a golden chance. Cavani is readying himself on the sideline for PSG.
  • 58'
The low tempo continues in the second half, with PSG happy to step off the gas and let their opposition do more of the running. Guingamp are seeing more of the ball, but are severely lacking the quality to part the well-organised Les Parisiens ranks.
  • 56'
Beauvue looks to drive from deep, but takes an awful second touch, which allows for Camara to step in and defuse the situation. Guingamp have had the odd gap to exploit, but have just lacked that little bit of quality required to turn half chances into goals.
  • 54'
PSG continue to sit in their own half, inviting Guingamp on, to allow for more threatening quick transitions. Jacbosen is found in behind Digne by a clever pass, but his attempted clipped finish has far too much power and arrows out of play harmlessly.
  • 52'
ONGENDA GOES CLOSE! The youngster is found in plenty of space on the left-hand side, before trying to cushion a curling effort into the bottom right corner! He doesn't quite get his angles right, however, with Samassa able to watch the ball wide of his upright.
  • 50'
A slow start to the second half, with PSG again trying to retain possession and be patient with their probing. Blanc has plenty of quality on his substitutes bench, with the likes of Lucas, Cavani and Aurier able to make quite an impact if they were to be thrown into the fray.
  • 48'
Ibrahimovic tries his luck with a free-kick, which cannons straight into the wall, before the rebound falls to Verratti. The diminutive Italian's eventual cross is deflected behind for a corner, but the set piece arcs straight out of play on the far side.
  • 46'
    Yellow Card Christophe Kerbrat
  • 46'
We are back underway in Beijing! PSG have a commanding lead and have looked dominant throughout, but Guingamp have shown in short spells that they're capable of testing this fairly make-shift Les Parisiens defence.
  • At times, Guingamp have been defensively all over the place, with Bahebeck wreaking havoc in wide areas and causing all sorts of problems. Ibrahimovic has been clinical with his opportunities, while Gourvennec's men have barely mustered up a decent chance. Be sure to rejoin us in around ten minutes time for all of the second half action!
  • HALF TIME! PSG head into the dressing room with a two-goal lead, with Ibrahimovic netting both for the Ligue 1 champions. Guingamp haven't been solid, missing a penalty in the process, but the underdogs can't be ruled out quite yet. Les Parisiens are on top, but need another goal to put this result beyond doubt.
  • 45' + 3'
Mathis is brought to ground by a poor sliding challenge from Verratti, giving Guingamp the opportunity to load the box and deliver to a host of white shirts. The delivery is excellent, but bobbles straight through the corridor of uncertainty and behind for a goal-kick.
  • 45' + 2'
Guingamp throw yet another cross into the box from the right-hand side, but Van der Wiel comes across well to clear the danger. PSG are retaining possession well, with all of their personnel minus Ibrahimovic being used to make angles in the midfield third.
  • 45'
Bahebeck is sent on his way by a ball upfield and into the right channel, before spinning his marker and driving towards the byline. Samassa races out and looks to possibly clip the 21-year-old, who does go to ground, but the referee points for a goal-kick. We have five minutes of stoppage time.
  • 43'
Pastore drives from deep, exchanging possession with Bahebeck, before looking to make his way through the heart of the Guingamp defence. He gets to the edge of the box, before trying to poke a pass through for Ibrahimovic, but Kerbrat is able to intercept and clear.
  • 42'
A few minutes left of normal time, with Guingamp continuing to show a bit more potential going forward since the impromptu water break. PSG are happy to take a break and surrender some ground, as it leaves them with more space in behind for the likes of Ongenda and Bahebeck to exploit.
  • 40'
Ibrahimovic and Verratti try to exchange a cute one-two, but the latter's pass is just about cut out. Guingamp break, but the counter results in substitute Alioui firing high and wide from long range. He spotted Sirigu off his line, but got his execution all wrong.
  • 39'
Baca is okay to continue, despite seemingly being caught in his lowered head by the boot of Van der Wiel. The former Ajax full-back is throwing himself in every challenge and appears keen to prove his worth - possibly due to Serge Aurier's presence on the bench.
  • 37'
Around ten minutes are left until the half-time break, with Guingamp seemingly keen to drag themselves back into the contest before the interval. Alioui tries to deliver a cross from the left, but sees his attempted delivery blocked, while Baca is once again felled by Van der Wiel.
  • 35'
Verratti looks to scoop a pass over the top for Ongenda to chase, but the through ball isn't angled properly and allows for Samassa to race out and make a timely clearance. PSG's young wingers are providing plenty of pace and invention, Guingamp's less athletic defenders are struggling to deal with them.
  • 33'
Van der Wiel catches Baca on the ankle with a late challenge, but the full-back will be okay to continue. Guingamp look to have found their feet after the water break, pushing much higher upfield and trying to force a few mistakes from Blanc's men. Jacobsen's cross is cleared at the near post by Marquinhos.
  • 32'
    Missed Penalty Mustapha Yatabare
  • 32'
    Penalty save Salvatore Sirigu
  • 32'
SAVED BY SIRIGU! Yatabare looks to slot into the bottom left corner, but the Italian goalkeeper guesses the right way and pounces upon the ball! PSG keep their clean sheet intact!
  • 30'
PENALTY TO GUINGAMP! Marquinhos looks to block off Beauvue, as the midfielder looked to cut inside and drive into the penalty area! It's right on the line, but the referee points to the spot!
  • 29'
We're finally back underway, after a couple of minutes of stoppages, to allow the players to take on vital fluids. PSG get things going again!
  • 27'
Thiago Motta whips in the corner delivery, but the ball is hoofed clear at the near post. There's a brief stoppage in play for water, given the high temperatures these two outfits are playing in, in Beijing. PSG will be pleased, they've taken the game to Guingamp in some style.
  • 26'
Another cross from the right-hand side from PSG is actually dealt with well by Samassa, with the physicall imposing shot-stopper coming out to claim confidently. Bahebeck then goes on a slaloming run down the right, beating Sorbon easily, before forcing a near post save out of Samassa.
  • 24'
Alioui nods down a back post cross for Giresse, but the Frenchman can't keep his half-volley down from 16 yards, sending the ball spiralling over the crossbar. That's the closest that Guingamp have gone thus far, which is testament to how well PSG have come out of the blocks.
  • 23'
Guingamp look to try and hold onto possession for a short while, in an attempt to slow things down and gain some confidence. PSG are streaming forward at every opportunity, with their opposition defensively at sea.
  • 21'
Ibrahimovic finds himself racing in behind the Guingamp defence, drawing Samassa out of his goal. The goalscorer cuts a pass back into the path of Pastore, but Baca covers across well to clear the ball off the boot of the threatening Argentine!
  • 20'
    Penalty Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOOOOOAL! IBRAHIMOVIC CONVERTS TO MAKE IT TWO! It's a clinical finish from the striker, who fires low into the bottom left corner, but Samassa just couldn't get there to deny the Swede! A perfect penalty! PSG lead 2-0!
  • 19'
PENALTY TO PSG! A cross is flighted in from the right-hand side, before Bahebeck is bundled to the ground by Jacobsen! It's a clumsy, clumsy challenge from the Dane and the referee has no hesitation.
  • 18'
Marquinhos shows his authority, by coming across and jumping well above Yatabare to head clear the danger. Camara and the young Brazilian may not be PSG's first-choice partnership, but thus far they haven't been asked too many questions.
  • 17'
Beauvue looks to flick on a header for Yatabare to chase, but it's wildly over-hit and Sirigu collects with ease. The Italy international goalkeeper is yet to make a save, such has been Les Parisiens' dominance.
  • 15'
Another long ball in search of Ibrahimovic causes problems in the Guingamp defence once again. Samassa looks to race out and punch the through ball out of the PSG striker's reach, but clatters through Sorbon in the process! He's winded, but will be fine to continue.
  • 14'
    SubstitutionJulien Cardy Rachid Alioui
  • 13'
There's an extended stoppage in play, as Cardy is stretchered from the field in evident pain. Guingamp quickly ready a substitute, but will have to play on with ten men for the moment. While PSG have started positively, the Coupe de France winners have really struggled.
  • 11'
A dream start for PSG, as the league champions have seen the majority of possession and created several good chances. Guingamp are struggling to get going, with Yatabare and Schwartz failing to receive anything in the way of service. Cardy goes down holding his knee, with the midfielder needing immediate treatment.
  • 9'
    Assist Javier Pastore
  • 9'
    Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOOOOOAL! IBRAHIMOVIC FIRES PSG INTO THE LEAD! The Sweden international is found on the edge of the box by Pastore, before he's afforded too much space by Guingamp! Nobody closes him down, allowing for Ibrahimovic to fire beyond Samassa and into the top left corner! PSG have the 1-0 advantage!
  • 8'
Two chances in quick succession for PSG! Van der Wiel whips in a good cross from the right-hand side, but Bahebeck fails to tap home at the back post! That looked to be an easy opportunity, but the 21-year-old fails to hit the target despite his prolific pre-season! Ibrahimovic is nearly found moments later, but Sorbon clears!
  • 7'
Good move from PSG! Cardy's poor touch is capitalised upon, before Les Parisiens exchange a few passes and Baheback finds himself in possession. The young winger drives forward, before unleashing a long-range effort, but it zips over the crossbar!
  • 6'
Ibrahimovic tries his luck from 30 yards, but Samassa is happy to watch the effort skid wide of his near post. It was a poor effort from the former Barcelona forward, but he'll have plenty of time left to redeem himself this afternoon.
  • 5'
Verratti spreads play out to the right-hand side, but Baca catches Pastore as the Argentine looks to drive beyond the Guingamp left-back. The French league champions are really taking this game to the opposition, they've been dominant thus far. Ibrahimovic stands over the free-kick.
  • 3'
Thiago Motta and Pastore combine well, with the experienced Italy international scooping a pass over the Guingamp back four. The Argentine takes a good first touch to control, but his second lets him down and allows the opposition goalkeeper to smother.
  • 2'
PSG are keen to retain the ball in the opening seconds, before a long ball is launched forward in search of Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker looked to flick a looping header over the advancing Samassa, but the Malian goalkeeper manages to collect.
  • 1'
We are underway in the first half! PSG are the favourites, despite naming a few young players in their starting line-up, but Guingamp will be keen to show that they are plucky underdogs once again.
  • The two teams have made their way onto the turf, meaning that kick-off is imminent! PSG are lining up in their usual navy home strip, while Guingamp are in all white. The Worker's Stadium is fairly full, with the locals presumably coming out in force to see some world-class players.
  • We have less than ten minutes remaining before kick-off, so be sure to stick around to see who will lift the 2014 French Super Cup! PSG and Guingamp have both named strong sides, meaning that we should be in for a competitive clash in China this afternoon!
  • Guingamp substitutes: Angoua, Sankoh, Mandanne, Guichard, Alioui, Dos Santos, Marveaux.
  • Guingamp starting line-up: Samassa; Baca, Kerbrat, Sorbon, Jacobsen; Beauvue, Giresse, Mathis, Cardy; Schwartz, Yatabare.
  • PSG substitutes: Douchez, Lucas, Cavani, Aurier, Chantome, Bambock, Kimpembe.
  • PSG starting line-up: Sirigu; Van der Wiel, Camara, Marquinhos, Digne; Verratti, Thiago Motta, Pastore; Ongenda, Ibrahimovic, Bahebeck.
  • TEAM NEWS: Lars Jacobsen starts at full-back after his summer move from Copenhagen, while fellow new signing Ronnie Schwartz is given a start in attack, partnering cup final hero Mustapha Yatabare up top. Maxime Baca is deployed in defence after his recent transfer from Lorient, but former Valenciennes defender Brou Benjamin Angoua only makes the bench. Plenty of changes have been made over the break by Jocelyn Gourvennec.
  • TEAM NEWS: Zoumana Camara and Marquinhos make up the central defensive partnership for PSG, as David Luiz and Thiago Silva are yet to return from their post-World Cup break. Gregory van der Wiel is preferred to new signing Serge Aurier at right-back, while Javier Pastore is given a chance in midfield. Young wingers Hervin Ongenda and Jean-Christophe Bahebeck will look to support star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Edinson Cavani starting on the bench.
  • I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you fully updated with all of the action, as Guingamp look to go one better than last season's surprise cup victory and take some more unexpected silverware. PSG will be expecting a tough test, but have experience of coming back from behind in desperate circumstances due to their late 2-1 victory over Bordeaux in the last Trophee des Champions match-up.
  • Hello and welcome to live coverage of the French Super Cup in Beijing, as league champions Paris Saint-Germain face off against Coupe de France winners Guingamp. After defeating Bordeaux last season in the same cup fixture, Laurent Blanc's men will be keen to retain this trophy, while looking to gain winning momentum for the rapidly approaching new Ligue 1 campaign.
