Was having a solid evening between the sticks before his late gaffe. Had looked comfortable collecting crosses and corners throughout the game but gifting Ben Basat the late goal has left him with a lot of apologies to make in the changing room.
While Ronaldo persevered in the free role, Antunes was left to provide the width for Portugal down the left. While he struggled in the opening half, his ambitious runs in the second period almost provided that elusive second goal on a couple of occasions, including a terrific half-volley.
His first ever international goal will be a little tainted by the full-time result but it was still a well taken diving header as he linked up with his central defensive partner at the other end of the pitch. Should have added a second too.
Fiercely competitive as always, the centre-back showed his footballing side by laying on the goal with a composed assist, before reverting to type by kicking lumps out of the Israel attacking pair and confronting anyone not in a red jersey, picking up a yellow card in the process.
Not afraid of a shot, Micael must have mustered at least five of them before the break. The only problem was the differing degrees of how useful these shots were, with only one ever really testing Awat.
A satisfying debut for Almeida after a nervy start where he almost gave Barda an early opening. Settled at right-back and was happy to get forward to aid Nani in the bombardment of the flank.
With the number of corners his side had, the Monaco man may be a little disappointed with his delivery this evening. Showed some fantastic vision on occasions though, most notably to set up Antunes in the second half.
Made sure that Portugal dominated the midfield as he sat deep, allowing Joao Moutinho and Micael to move further up the park. Was removed in the second half after Portugal conceded the late leveller.
Was Portugal's only outlet for large periods of the game as the home side looked to force their play down the right. A few decent crosses and a couple of cutting runs, but as happens all too often, it looked as though the Manchester United winger was out of ideas by the end.
A frustrating evening to put it mildly for the Real Madrid forward. He had a quiet opening period before being looked over as sub Oliveira went for goal instead of squaring. Denied from a free kick late on, the anger boiled over as he booted the ball into the stands.
Perhaps had the best chances to put his side clear. Wasted the best just after the break when he headed over from Ronaldo's cross. Thought he had made amends when he nodded home minutes later but was ruled out for offside.
Produced a number of fine stops to keep his side in the game. Tipped over from Ruben Micael and got down to stop Antunes's effort. Even after the equaliser he still had a job on his hands to maintain his side's parity, blocking Ronaldo's free kick. A top performance.
O. Ben Harush
A centre-back who seemed to be up the other end of the pitch more often than not. Must have felt he had wasted his side's best chance of the game when he shot straight at Patricio in the opening stages of the second half.
Had a very quiet first period as Portugal seemed to refuse to use their left wing. Had the heat turned up a notch in the second period and struggled to match the run of Antunes from time to time. Got away with it in the end though.
T. Ben Haim
Leading by example at the back as Israel were forced to hold out for long periods of the game. Could possibly have shouldered the blame for losing Ricardo Costa for the Portugal goal.
Performed admirably as part of a back three. Allowed Hugo Almeida very little space and it safe to say it's a job well done when Cristiano Ronaldo is kept quiet.
A niggling performance in the middle of the park from the robust central midfielder as he tried to track Moutinho and keep the Portuguese creative wizards as quiet as possible. Worked hard to a large extent too.
With Portugal dominating possession in the centre of the park, Zahavi rarely got to see much of the ball. This resulted in a much more defensive performance than he would have liked, spending the majority of his time on the pitch in his own half.
Another attack-minded player who had to resort to defensive duties, Radi was hauled off just after the break in favour of Refaelov as Israel looked to keep things tight.
Enjoyed some freedom down the left hand side, especially when the visitors were allowed to counter. Happy to get forward, but must have been shattered after Portugal's continuous attacks down his flank in the opening period.
E. Ben Basat
Waited patiently all game for a chance and took it when it finally came. He won't get many simpler finishes but he had almost too much time to finish when gifted the chance by Patricio and took it well.
Looked Israel's most threatening player when they went on the counter on that odd occasion. Dragged wide of goal in the opening half and it was his constant pressing up the park that saw the ball eventually played back to Patricio for the mistake.
