• Carrow Road, Norwich, Norfolk

No kitchen sink is thrown by either side and the full-time whistle is blown, with the final score reading Norwich 0-0 Newcastle. Thanks to everybody who joined me tonight - it's goodbye from me Livio Caferoglu!
90' + 4'
Sissoko makes a lung-bursting run into the Canaries box, as the ex-Toulouse star tries to meet Haidara's cross, but he can't quite make a connection with the ball. The hosts take the throw.
90' + 3'
Norwich must now be thinking 'what if' after wasting that glorious chance, yet so will Newcastle. The Magpies have been in total control statistically but haven't taken any of their 20 attempts at goal.
90' + 1'
Six (you read that right!) minutes of injury time will be played out.
WHAT A SAVE KRUL!!!! The visiting goalkeeper is furious with his defence for not providing enough cover as Redmond whips a ball towards the back post, and Snodgrass' diving header is parried away by the Dutchman!
The visitors bring on Haidara to inject some freshness into the team at the expense of the ineffective Sammy Ameobi. It's a significantly more attack-minded substitution than Tettey for Hooper.
The match has opened up since the duo's exits from the field of play, yet neither side can hold onto the ball.
Red Card Bradley Johnson
Red Card Loïc Remy
Johnson makes a meal of an arm to his chest from Remy, and the striker retaliates by pushing him twice. However, the Norwich midfielder does both himself and his opponent no favours by dishing it back to the Frenchman and falling to the ground after the slightest of force. It now emerges that Johnson too has been sent off!
RED CARD TO NEWCASTLE!!!
It really is anyone's game now, but having said that, both sides presently lack that ruthless streak. A stalemate is probably the likeliest outcome.
HOOPER HITS THE BAR!!!! The fans' encouragement is working a treat as the striker meets a cross from the left-hand channel and smashes it onto the crossbar!
Santon reads off the better-safe-than-sorry manuscript and concedes a corner. The home crowd are making some serious noise now - they know that they can still emerge victorious here!
Hatem Ben Arfa
Ben Arfa falls to the ground and requires medical attention... from his opponent! It's Bassong who helps the winger shake off some cramp in his right leg, but it's too little too late as Shola Ameobi is called to replace him.
Quite incredible of Newcastle to register 21 attempts at goal away from home. Still, only three of those have hit the target. If the status quo is maintained, then Hughton will surely live to see another day in the Norwich hot-seat.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel
Johnson and Tiote fight over possession in the centre-circle, and it's the Ivorian who prevails. However, the free kick is horribly wasted - cue the entrance of exciting Canaries youngster Nathan Redmond!
Ben Arfa steps up but can't quite steer his attempt on target. Moments later, Ameobi heads the winger's corner just wide of Ruddy to result in yet another squandered Newcastle opportunity.
Yellow Card Leroy Fer
Ben Arfa wins his umpteenth free kick for the evening near the Norwich D after skipping past two yellow jerseys, including that of Fer's, who scythes into the onrushing forward.
Both teams play out a quiet couple of minutes. The recent passages have been rather scrappy after such promising signs from the restart.
HE HAMMERS THE CROSSBAR!!! The attacker does a much better job than Santon at testing Ruddy from a set-piece situation after bending a curling drive onto the stanchion!
Pilkington is lucky to get away scotch-free as he brings down Tiote in a heap on the edge of the box. Here comes Remy from the free kick...
Yellow Card Moussa Sissoko
Ruddy is not a happy bunny as Sissoko blocks his kick-out. I'm not entirely surely how that could be viewed as a foul... the midfielder didn't even use his hand!
Norwich search for another opening via the long ball, yet Martin is adjudged offside for timing his run onto Hooper's through pass too early.
WAS IT A PENALTY? Ben Arfa is adamant that he should've been awarded one as he charges into the box but collapses to the ground following Bennett's apparent tackle from behind. However, contact was minimal and the referee made the right call to ignore the attacker's appeals.
Sissoko looks to run in behind Olsson after reading a through pass which splits the Norwich defence in two, but Ruddy rushes from his line to smother the danger.
VAN WOLFSWINKEL!!! A lobbed pass is deflected into the path of the Dutch striker, who desperately needs a goal - having not scored since the opening day of the season - but Williamson stands tall as the strike bounces off him for a corner.
Johnson lays off Snodgrass on the right, but the former Leeds man drags his shot well wide of the target.
We're back out for the second half! It's anyone's game despite Newcastle's dominant first 45 minutes, which would have not made life any easier for Norwich's under-fire boss Chris Hughton.
The half-time whistle is blown, with Norwich and Newcastle drawing blanks at the interval!
45' + 1'
Ben Arfa's trickery wins Newcastle a free kick in a dangerous position. However, Santon's shooting boots are clearly not being worn tonight as his strike swerves high and wide.
HOOPER OUT OF THE BLUE!!! Where did that come from?! The ex-Celtic marksman carves out an opening from nothing as he blasts a shot towards the bottom-left corner, yet Krul is equal to it!
Two minutes of injury time will be played.
SHOULD'VE DONE BETTER!!! Remy probes towards the byline and spots Ben Arfa free at the far post with a pinpoint cut-back, yet the forward inexplicably skies his finish!
Taylor and Krul almost get their wires crossed after a clearance is launched into the Newcastle area. Fortunately for the visitors, Krul promptly takes control of the situation.
Debuchy picks up the pieces from the set-piece and proceeds to drive home an attempt from distance, but again the Norwich defence refuse to be infiltrated.
Yet again Newcastle are awarded a corner following Martin's efforts to close down a cross from reaching its intended target.
Norwich nearly get caught out by a clearance from Krul, as Remy reads the bounce and strikes an attempt at goal, but it is quickly blocked.
Remy is back in business after taking a blow to the head in an air duel. Ben Arfa, in true sportsmanlike fashion, returns the ball to Ruddy.
Newcastle's Cabaye-less midfield may lack creativity on the surface, but they have been running the show so far. Their industry and will to overrun their opponents is more than compensating for the flair and panache that the playmaker once offered.
Van Wolfswinkel ventures out to the right-hand side and whips up a cross for Hooper to meet, but the Tottenham youth product is nowhere near the ball, leaving Williamson to easily head away the danger.
The visitors are being afforded crossing opportunities at will here. There's been next to no closing down from Norwich's players - bar Martin's to concede a Toon corner only seconds ago.
The former Marseille ace's effort makes that 10 Newcastle attempts on target - compared to Norwich's measly haul of just the one.
NOT FAR AWAY! Ben Arfa collects a pass central to goal from the preceding throw before jinking past his opponent and rifling an effort at Ruddy, who must parry the ball away!
Williamson shuts down a phase of possession play from Norwich and launches a counterattack in an instant. However, the move breaks down and a throw is the best that Newcastle can muster up.
The Newcastle storm is showing no signs of dying down at the moment, as Remy shifts past his marker near the byline and sends in a cross which Sissoko meets, yet the finish diverts off Ruddy and onto the post!
REMY AGAIN!!! A fine break from Newcastle allows Ameobi to burst through the channels and drill a cross into the path of the attacker, who forces Ruddy into an important stop!
FER!!!! The Dutchman fires a low palm-stinger at his compatriot Krul, but it takes a heavy deflection. The resulting corner, however, amounts to nothing.
Bassong shepherds another loose ball in as many minutes for Norwich. The Canaries are showing impressive resilience in front of their own fans so far - a possible sign of faith in their manager Chris Hughton?
Debuchy is on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Pilkington in his own half and struggles to get back onto his feet for a moment, but the free kick is soon allowed to be taken by Krul.
That was a bit suspect from Ruddy there, as he acrobatically tips the corner away from his goal. His positioning forced him into making such an unusual save.
A long pass is aimed for Remy, who is leading the Newcastle line by himself tonight, and Olsson has to mop up the loose ball. Corner to the Magpies.
The full-back only manages to hit the wall from an inside-left position a few yards away from the Norwich area. Debuchy goes for another bite of the cherry from around 25 yards out and sees his shot float just over the bar!
Snodgrass loses the ball to Anita in the middle of the park cheaply, and he charges back towards his own box to upend Remy. What can Santon do from this free kick in Cabaye's absence?
Norwich hit back on the counterattack down the left via Pilkington, but he plays the ball just over the byline for a Newcastle goal kick.
It's been a very positive start from the boys in black-and-white stripes. They're already making their attacking intent known.
REMY!!! The striker is found by his countryman Sissoko on the edge of the box, and he bends an effort just inches wide of the target! Almost an explosive start from the visitors.
The match is now under way.
The players flood out onto the pitch. It can only mean one thing - kick-off is just around the corner!
Only five minutes until kick-off now, folks.
However, the most notable link between the two clubs is Jonas Gutierrez. The Argentine winger joined Norwich on loan from Newcastle earlier in the month but, as a result, is ineligible for this evening's match.
There are numerous parallels between these two sides to suggest that an interesting encounter could be on the cards. Both outfits suffered third-round exits from the FA Cup 10 days ago, meaning they've soaked up plenty of rest of late. In addition, they are bound to be experiencing the same headaches due to the ongoing transfer sagas involving Wes Hoolahan and Yohan Cabaye.
And in the other corner, the Magpies: Krul; Debuchy, Taylor, Williamson, Santon; Anita, Tiote, Sissoko; Sammy Ameobi, Remy, Ben Arfa.
The team news is in! We'll start with how the Canaries shape up: Ruddy; Martin, Bennett, Bassong, Olsson; Snodgrass, Johnson, Fer, Pilkington; Hooper, Van Wolfswinkel.
