G. Hooper 30'
I've been Greg Taylor, thanks for joining us for the action here at Carrow Road. It's a big win for Norwich, they'll move up to 14th while Palace stay in the relegation zone. Bye for now.
That's it. Back to back home wins for Norwich. Gary Hooper's first half goal was decisive here. Chris Hughton will be very happy with those three points. Pulis loses in his first game in charge but his side simply lacked the quality. He has a huge task on his hands.
90' + 3'
Norwich get it away, worrying moments for Hughton and his players. But that should do it.
90' + 2'
Norwich try to waste time near the Palace corner flag, but Ward launches it down field. Just two minutes left. Palace have one last chance. A free kick from 40 yards out.
90' + 1'
Norwich are sitting back now and letting Palace come on to them. Only four more minutes for them to hold out. What a big three points this is for Chris Hughton.
Can Palace find the equaliser? They just don't seem to be able to buy a goal this season. Good work rate, good passing, but in the final third they simply haven't got the quality to punish sides at this level. Tony Pulis has a big job on his hands.
Gayle hasn't scored many goals since his big money move to Palace in the summer. But he has just got himself a yellow card after being on the pitch for 3 minutes. Not great Dwight.
Yellow Card Dwight Gayle
Palace have a free kick in a great position. Willams crosses it into the far post, but Bennett is there to head away from an onrushing Cameron Jerome.
CLOSE! Great effort by Jimmy Kebe. Long ball floated into the back post, in one touch he turns his marker and fires a left footed shot into the side netting from 20 yards. Great skill, probably Palace's best chance this half.
Yellow Card Russell Martin
What a contrast to the first half. Both sides have cancelled each other out this half, no real clear cut chances created by either side.
Norwich have a corner. But Bradley Johnson will be coming on to replace Hoolahan who still isn't match fit after his recent lay off.
Can these substitutions help Palace find an equaliser? Norwich seem content to play on the break, using Redmond's pace down the left.
Free kick for Palace in their own half. Pulis is ringing the changes. Gayle and Kebe stripped off about to come on.
Redmond does look a tasty prospect. As with many young players he needs to work on his final ball, but again he beats his man but his shot is charged down and Palace win back possession.
Looks like Pulis might be about to make a change. Chamakh looks a little sluggish and Pulis has the pacey Dwight Gayle to bring on to get in behind the Norwich back four.
Not many chances this half, the ball keeps coming back to the Norwich defence. Palace now camped in their own half as Norwich try to mount the pressure. Hooper has space in the box but instead of shooting turns away from goal and the attack comes to an end.
Norwich trying to slow the game down and regain some kind of control. Hoolahan picks out Elmander down the right channel but it's over hit and the Eagles have a goal kick.
CLOSE! Almost an own goal by Sebastian Bassong. Fantastic low cross to the near post by Bannan but Bassong slides and somehow clears it over the crossbar. Great defending.
Yellow Card Mile Jedinak
First time we've seen Hoolahan this half, he finds space in the middle and shoots from long distance but Speroni holds onto it comfortably. Jedinak gives away a sloppy foul on Redmond and Norwich have a free kick on the left hand side. Redmond to take.
The home crowd have gone very quiet this half. There is a nervousness in the air at Carrow Road and the players are picking up on it.
Norwich can't get their best players into the game this half. Redmond and Hoolahan were really bright in the first. Hughton will be hoping his side can ride out this pressure and find a second goal.
Pulis sporting his usual baseball cap, but this time with the Palace badge on it. He's encouraging his players, who have made a really positive start to this half. Norwich don't look in control at all right now.
Free kick for Palace, Barry Bannan to take it. Poor delivery and Norwich get a free kick for handball against Chamakh.
Olsson brings it away for Norwich down the left but gets dispossessed. Palace get down the right and Ward crosses it in but Ruddy collects it, only for Chamakh to bump into him and knock him over. Bennett has a word with the Moroccan, handbags put away and Norwich pass it out from the back.
Lovely counter from Norwich, Hooper brings it down with a gorgeous touch and spreads it wide left. Redmond jinks inside but fires high and wide. Good play by the Canaries.
Jedinak is yet to miss a minute of Premier League action this season, it may have taken its toll, he hasn't been great so far this afternoon.
What has Pulis said to his new charges? Will it have fired them up for this half, let's see. Gabbidon looks long, but Norwich clear and Palace have a throw.
We're underway again with Jedinak and Bannan kicking off for the Eagles.
The players are back out for the second half, the game will re-start shortly.
The first half stats show that Norwich have had six shots compared to Palace's five, with both having two on target. Norwich have dominated possession with 66% of the ball.
That's the interval, and Norwich City lead Crystal Palace 1-0 courtesy of a Gary Hooper's goal. Very entertaining and lively first half, with Redmond and Elmander going close before Hooper opened the scoring. But Palace have had their chances, Bannan will feel unlucky not to have equalised with his effort.
Redmond is tormenting Moxey down the right. Tidy play by Norwich, they look more likely to double their advantage, than Palace do of equalising.
Bannan's given another silly free kick away in a decent position. Lucky not to be booked for that challenge on Redmond. Free kick is cleared and Palace have posession.
The Canaries are unbeaten against Palace in the Premier League (W3, D3). I'll be surprised if that changes after today.
CLOSE! Great cross from the right by Martin, Hoolahan is so close to getting a head on it but it flashes across the box and rolls out for a throw.
The Canaries are still on top, Elmander gets in behind and finds Martin who is fouled. Norwich have a free kick in a good area on the right hand side. Good delivery but Chamakh is equal to it and Palace break.
Great response by Palace. Pulis will be pleased his side haven't dropped their heads.
CLOSE! Palace almost immediately equalise. Puncheon shoots across Ruddy who parries to Barry Bannan who hits it into the top corner, but Olsson somehow clears it offline and Norwich get it to safety.
Assist Wesley Hoolahan
Goal Gary Hooper
GOAL! I said Redmond looked dangerous. He gets down the right and drives at the Palace back four, cuts it back to Howson who feeds Hoolahan who rolls it across the 6-yard box for Hooper to tap home. Norwich deserved that.
Palace having a good period of possession here. Norwich will have to be careful not to be caught on the break. The work rate from Pulis' men has been excellent all game.
Redmond definitely looks the most dangerous player on the pitch. His teammates try to find him again, but the pass is poor and drifts out for a throw in to Palace.
Great play by Cameron Jerome down the left, he winds his way into the box and cuts it back for Puncheon whose shot is deflected out for a corner.
The game has slowed down a bit. Norwich still in control but the urgency has gone. Bassong looks long to Hooper but Ward is there to intercept.
Terrific inter play by Norwich. When they play like this you have to wonder why they're struggling this season. Fer rolls it wide left to Redmond who beats his man and gets a dangerous low cross into the near post. It's blocked and rolls out for a corner.
Chris Hughton's side have scored just one first-half goal this season, the lowest tally in the Premier League. Can they address that in the next 25 minutes?
Hooper and Fer playing a one two on the edge of the box but Gabbidon gets in a block before Fer can pull the trigger. Close game, but Norwich have more control of the game. Palace looking to counter.
Great start to this game, a really high tempo from both sides. Palace have a free kick from 40 yards out. It's drifted into the back post but Jerome is flagged offside and Norwich have a free kick.
Palace have a throw-in down the left hand side. Will it be Delap-esque? No, it's thrown short and Norwich get possession.
Palace definitely looking long to Chamakh, hoping he can flick it on for Jerome. Pulis already had an impact?
Great save by Speroni, from a shot by Hoolahan. Norwich have a corner but Palace get it away and counter. They win a corner but Ruddy punches it away.
CLOSE! Norwich have a free kick in a dangerous position. It's on the right hand side of the penalty area and is met by Elmander who flicks it against the crossbar. So close for Norwich.
Norwich really on top here, passing across the backline and looking to get in behind down the channels. But Palace get a chance, the ball falls to Puncheon who shoots from 20 yards out on the angle but Ruddy comfortably holds on to it.
Positive start by Norwich, some good play between Hooper and Elmander already causing the Palace defence some problems. Norwich have a throw-in.
Good start by Norwich, they have a corner after Elmander chases down a loose ball. A good corner is met by Bassong but he heads wide.
And we're under way at Carrow Road, with Norwich kicking off.
The players are out on the pitch, we'll be kicking off very shortly.
Three minutes before kick off, a good atmosphere here as usual here at Carrow Road. It's 16th versus 19th in the league, is it too early to call this a relegation six-pointer?
Both sides have only collected three away points all season but Norwich have picked up eight of their 11 points at Carrow Road. I'm sure Chris Hughton is hoping for another strong home performance from his side this afternoon.
Pulis changes the winning side from last week, bringing in Jason Puncheon for the suspended Yannick Bolasie and Cameron Jerome for Dwight Gayle. Hughton also alters his team, as Sebastien Bassong, Johan Elmander and Wes Hoolahan come into the side.
SUBS: Price, Mariappa, Phillips, O'Keefe, Gayle, Jonny Williams, Kebe
CRYSTAL PALACE XI: Speroni; Ward, Gabbidon, Delaney, Moxey; Jedinak, Dikgacoi, Bannan, Puncheon; Chamakh, Jerome
SUBS: Nash, Whittaker, Johnson, Turner, Garrido, Becchio, Josh Murphy
NORWICH CITY XI: Ruddy; Martin, R Bennett, Bassong, Olsson; Fer, Howson, Redmond, Hoolahan; Elmander, Hooper
Right, let's have a look who's starting today.
Anyway, that's not going to be decided today, but there is three points at stake as he takes on Norwich and Chris Hughton. Norwich haven’t started the season as well as many hoped, despite spending plenty on strikers over the summer, they've mustered a mere 10 goals and shipped 23 at the back, the second worst defensive record in the league. And their recent form hasn't been great, with just one win in their last six games, Hughton will be hoping for a home win today to silence the murmurs.
Well Pulis will be buoyed by last weeks away win at Hull, Palace's first away points of the season. He also has history on his side, as I'm sure you've heard (probably from him) that he has never been relegated in his 21 years of football management.
So the Tony Pulis era at Crystal Palace begins here at Carrow Road. For the rest of the season he's faced with the unenviable task of trying to keep Palace in the Premier League. A shrewd appointment by the board or a misguided one?
Good afternoon and welcome to the LIVE Text Commentary of Norwich v Crystal Palace at Carrow Road. I'm Greg Taylor and I'll be guiding you through all the action in what is undoubtedly a big game for both Premier League strugglers.
