That's it from me, Mohammed Ali. Thank you for joining me this evening, and I have very much enjoyed your input via Twitter. Stay here on Goal.com with the match report, and I will be back with some more LIVE coverage from PSG v Bordeaux tomorrow, and Marseille v Bayern on Wednesday. Until then, have a great night!
90' + 4'
FULL-TIME: AC Milan 2-1 Roma - Milan provisionally go seven clear of Juventus. They came back in the second half with two goals from Ibra, one from the spot. With Thiago Silva suffering an injury in the first ten minutes, at what price does victory come at?
90' + 4'
Roma won here last season, 1-0 but it is AC Milan who achieve the double over them this campaign with a wonderful comeback.
90' + 3'
Yellow Card Sulley Muntari
90' + 3'
Heinze knocks the ball on before Aquilani hoofs the ball away. The Giallorossi have about a minute to get an equaliser.
90' + 2'
Worth noting, Milan's Champions League opponents Barcelona have beaten Mallorca 2-0. Without Thiago, that may be a tall order, if it wasn't already. Meanwhile, Milan search out a third, but look sloppy on the ball as Muntari picks up a yellow for a lunge.
90' + 1'
Roma have just the one chance left, and it is squandered. They surround the Milan penalty box, but Osvaldo waits an age to get his shot away, and it is blocked.
FOUR ADDED MINUTES!
@Razenhio on Twitter: If milan is going to face barca with this defense .... no need to watch the game
Stephan El Shaarawy
Meanwhile, Aquilani replaces the impressive El Shaarawy. Roma are offering no reprieve as AC Milan seek to lock down the game.
@tibrai on Twitter: With him still on the pitch, anything can be made possible by milan. Ibra Supremacy
@Royzzzay on Twitter: Milan do not deserve this draw nor a win! Refs save them with their penalty calls. Forza Juve!
Kevin Prince Boateng runs marginally offside. San Siro is booming. Great assist from Philippe Mexes.
Assist Sulley Muntari
Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOAAAALLL!! He's done it again. Ibrahimovic has saved AC Milan with a wondrous header. Roma have been on the back foot too. GOAL number 22 for the Swede.
@AlexMascitti on Twitter: That Osvaldo header was so close, I think the Giallorossi can get a goal...But Mesbah is horrible? #TerribleCross.
Fernando Gago has been substituted in favour of Erik Lamela as we enter the final ten minutes.
ROSI! Threatening from the Giallorossi. Delightful ball in towards Rosi ont the flank as he delivers a low ball. Hooked away by Bonera, despite Marquinho just arriving.
Corner to Milan. Played short, and Ibrahimovic on the left-flank turns in well before attempting a cross from the outside of his right foot, before it is cleared.
Pjanic whips in the free-kick, before Bonera heads the ball away. Goal-kick has been signalled due to Osvaldo having the last touch of the ball.
Less than 15 minutes left. Who will snatch the winner? Tweet me @mohammedali_93 with your opinions.
Second viewing on that Muntari strike, and Stekelenburg actually pushed the ball onto the bar. Fine reflex save from the Dutchman.
MUNTARI! OFF THE BAR! Just how close will they get? Wonderful flick over the ball. Muntari heads on, before firing on the volley as it crashes off the bar.
IBRAHIMOVIC! The moment has come, the moment has gone. Wonderful save by Stekelenburg who denies a certain a goal with an unorthodox save from his feet! Ibra did well to run into position but really should've tucked it away.
Pjanic finds Rosi on the overlap, but the latter's cross lands the ball straight into Abbiati's arms. Meanwhile, Roma have a corner from Taddei's blocked strike.
Ibrahimovic curls the set-piece, but it sails over the bar. - @jdgoal14 on Twitter: Bonera has really looked good for Milan. Seems to string a lot of consistent performances.
Kjaer drawn into a challenge, and fouls Ibrahimovic. Free-kick to Milan in a particularly dangerous position.
Max Allegri is cutting a frustrated figure on the touchline as he urges his side to do more to find the second goal. In contrast, Luis Enrique has his arm on his knees, looking far more calm.
EL SHAARAWY! Wonderful burst of pace from the wing, squaring the ball before Kjaer sees it behind.
@Saurabh_36: if this is the defending that is to be expected from milan in the absence of t.silva then i dare not watch the barca game.
MESBAH! Good effort form the left-back who fires goalwards, but the ball is deflected and almost catches out Stekelenburg who turns it behind. Corner.
Delightful ball from Ibrahimovic in towards Boateng on the flank. The Ghanaian performs a few stepovers, but it is turned behind for a corner.
Yellow Card Djamel Mesbah
Djamel Mesbah is booked, becoming the third man to be cautioned by the referee. Meanwhile, Osvaldo goes close, being denied by Abbiati.
Ibrahimovic venture sinto the penalty area, but fails to find a team-mate as Roma clear their lines.
@Hasowayne has more: Gooaal, Just watch, more is coming....!!! Thanks to Osvaldo for the wake up call..!!! I see GOOALS..!!
It's Urby Emanuelson off for Boateng. Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic now has 21 goals for the season. Lovely.
Tensions rising and referee Mazzoleni attempts to calm down the players. Kevin Prince Boateng is warming up, and his entrance is imminent.
Penalty Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOAAAAAAALL! IBRAHIMOVIC! 1-1 now, as he dispatches the penalty with ease, past Steklenburg. Roma could've been two goals to the good earlier, but now see themselves level with Milan.
Yellow Card Gabriel Heinze
PENALTY TO AC MILAN! - Shot in from Ambrosini is handled by De Rossi. Who also gets a yellow card.
MARQUINHO! Great run and shot from the midfielder who skips down the left flank and attempting to catch out Abbiati who is forced into a smart save.
EL SHAARAWY! Straight at Steklenburg. Lovely bit of build-up play from the hosts, and the youngster fires a powerful effort straight at Stekelenburg. Meanwhile, Lamela is warming up on the touchline.
TOTTI! What an opportunity. And what a waste. Another horror show from the Milan defence allows Totti to run at Steklenburg. We thought he'd attempt a drive, he instead went for the cip and it flew over the bar. Reall should've been 2-0!
El Shaarawy fires an effort which goes harmlessly wide, but it is deflected away for a corner. Wasted.
Marquinho shows good pace to beat his marker, but ultimately sees the ball back to Abbiati. Should've in truth passed left to Taddei.
SECOND HALF UNDERWAY - Milan get us going, attacking from right to left.
About to get underway for the second half. The players are out of the tunnel.
@Jdgoal14 on Twitter: Hopefully Milan can turn things around in the second half. Thiago Silva injury is of course a big blow. Hope to see KPB back.
@Hasowayne on Twitter: I am 100% sure Milan will win this one.. Plenty of goals to come and they will all come from Milan..! Osvaldo was a wake up. Let's hope Thiago won't be out come Barca game, but if he is, then all I can do is WONDER.!!! Messi, sounds scary..!
@Ahmadmangera on Twitter: Roma deserve their lead < Few might be agreeing with you there, Ahmad!
On the comments box below: Lar, Milanisti says: Blaah.. Ibra, Emanuelson, Muntari... Learn how to pass please.. 4 of the long range shots should've been passes instead of shots.
Over to you. What do you make of the first half? Do Roma deserve their lead? Or do you think Milan will hit back in the second period? And how do you think Milan will fare against Barcelona with Thiago Silva's injury? Questions that need answering - by you. Send them to @mohammedali_93 on Twitter. I'll be waiting.
@Cutiedan_Ok on Twitter: Silva's blow is the biggest blow Milan can think of.
El Shaarawy would hit the post with a fine effort before half-time but it was Luis Enrique's men who were rewarded with their perseverance. A late charge on Milan's goal has seen them take the lead. Ambrosini's mistake, De Rossi's shot, Osvaldo's goal. Simple as.
Well, how about that for a first half, which grew in quality towards the end of the period. After an edgy start, it was the Rossoneri who would create the best of the first few chances. Max Allegri's side have been dealt a blow with Thiago Silva limping off after just ten minutes.
45' + 1'
HALF-TIME: AC Milan 0-1 AS Roma (Osvaldo 44')
Looking back at that goal. It was a poor clearance from Ambrosini which found De Rossi, who in turn fired towards goal. Osvaldo was not offside, but didn't take any chances to divert it in. 1-0 Roma!
Assist Daniele De Rossi
Goal D. Osvaldo
GOAAALLLL!!!!!! ROMA TAKE THE LEAD!!! Slap in the face for Milan as a poor clearance finds Osvaldo who latches onto a shot going wide, and diverts it in past Abbiati. Roma ahead, with one minute left of the first half. Against the run of play, one would presume!
Poor from Roma. A counter-attack of their own catches out Milan and at one point they are 4 v 3. Taddei whips in a ball, but it is cleared. They are growing with confidence.
BORINI! Just over the bar. End to end stuff this is becoming as a cross in from the right meets the head of Borini who lifts it narrowly at the back post.
EL SHAARAWY! OFF THE POST! How did that not go in? Fantastic effort from the youngster who fires against the post from distance. Emanuelson flops witht the follow-up and Nocerino cannot quite force it over the line. Signal of intent? Should've been 1-0.
Ohhh just over the bar from Roma! Powerful effort from Osvaldo however. Meanwhile, AC Milan counter the chance, and attack in numbers.....
Patient build-up from Roma, who gently pass the ball throughout their entire midfield unopposed before forcing Milan into conceding a corner. As has been the trend, the delivery of the set-piece is poor, and easily cleared.
Osvaldo knocks the ball towards Borini who again squanders a chance by attempting to run at the defenders. Good interception and show of strength by Bonera who holds his own. The Giallorossi are showing flashes of attacking creativity.
Roma find themselves in a good position for once as Borini races past his marker. He has a man to the left, but sees him unfortunately sees him a tad too late. Should've done better with that chance.
Ibrahimovic! Tame header as Steklenburg retrieves the ball easily. Good inswinging delivery from Muntari on the wing, but the Swede could not quite force a save from Stekelenburg.
Corner to Milan. Emanuelson whips in a high ball, but it - perhaps frustatingly- trickles out for a throw-in.
Ibrahimovic! Just wide. He gets into position after receiving the ball fromt he left, before firing about a few inches wide of Stekelenburg's right post. Kjaer did well to get in front of the ball.
Yellow Card Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Ibrahimovic is next in the book after he sticks out a leg to bring down Marquinho. Half an hour gone, Milan are dominating, but the scoreline remains 0-0.
Yellow Card D. Osvaldo
Ibrahimovic ventures into the penalty area, and is held off by Kjaer with the Sweden international believing he should get a penalty as the referee dismisses his claim. Meanwhile, Osvaldo is booked for a lunge on Mexes. First of the night.
After Bonera's block on Totti, the hosts surge forward as the ball is fed into Ibrahimovic about 30 yards out. The Swede attempts to skip past Heinze, who reads the play expertly, and suceeds with the interception.
@Saurabh_36 on Twitter: So far Milan's old guard are defending well Bonera, Zambrotta have been solid.
GAGO! Good movement as Roma attack in their numbers. The Argentine's low threatening shot is blocked and Enrique's men have their first corner. Played short, and inevitably dealt with.
Rosi sprints on the left right flank in acres of space, but his poor control sees him run the ball out of play. Quarter of the match gone, and it is 56-44% possession in favour of Milan.
I'll tell you what - that El Shaarawy's a lively prospect isn't he? Shows unbelievable amount of strength and composure to hold off Taddei and Heinze and finding Muntari just outside the box. The Ghanaian takes a bit too long, and he is closed down.
@saurabh_36 on Twitter: This isnt good for milan T.Silva's loss is massive, hope he recovers for Barca. - Keep sending more of your reactions to Thiago Silva's injury to @mohammedali_93.
Gago with a wonderful cross from the right in towards Osvaldo, but it is Zambrotta with an alert clearance. Marquinho attempts an effort on goal, but the hosts' defence see the threat through.
Roma are opening up across the field, and it is the hosts who are plugging those gaps with their flash counter attack methods. Even Osvaldo is back in his own half defending, leaving the visitors a man short up front.
EL SHAARAWY! Just wide, but a great volley that was. Zambrotta's header down finds the youngster, who shoots narrowly wide of Stekelenburg's goal.
Stephan El Shaarawy is ruled offside, despite latching onto a fine lofted ball. Meanwhile, Nocerino believes he should have a free-kick after an altercation with Taddei. Nothing doing, however.
Oohh bit of a dangerous move from the Giallorossi. Ibrahimovic's in on goal but Steklenburg rushes out to clear, only clearing the ball off the big Swede. Meanwhile, the Dutch custodian makes another, more assured save from a shot from distance.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Stunning free-kick, but it is saved fantastically well by Stekelenburg. Superb drive towards goal too. Corner.
@Shamr9 on Twitter: Hope to see KPB and Nesta on the pitch today.. they'll be crucial for the game against Barca.. our last hope for the CL final
The bad news too, is that the Brazilian international looked to have pulled up during the warm-up. He has been replaced by Gianluca Zambrotta. Not good for the Rossoneri.
Bad news for Milan fans: Thiago Silva cannot continue, and looks set to be hauled off. Barcelona up next too. Thoughts? Tweet them to @mohammedali_93.
EMANUELSON! Should've powered it a bit harder. Fantastic move to find the ex-Ajax man on the wing. Cuts in on his left before firing a tame shot which Stekelenburg saves easily.
Borini! Over. Lovely work from the visitors as Taddei moves into position after a flowing attacking move. He directs his shot which is blocked by Bonera before Borini fired his effort well over the bar.
Ohhh! Totti is fed the ball, and the captain attempst to thread the ball in towards Borini before it is intercepted. At the other end, Milan counter as El Shaarawy chases a loose ball being denied by Stekelenburg. Spaces opening up in this one.
Free-kick to Roma deep in their own half after an infringement. Quite a sturdy if unspectacular start from both sides.
AC Milan are pushing up, with Mesbah applying a lot of pressure on Totti, as the visitors see the ball back to Stekelenburg who clears. Efficient football from the hosts so far.
Heinze is playing under some considerable pressure and is required to kick the ball into touch before El Shaaraway's interception.
The Giallorossi have already relinquished possession as Gabriel Heinze attempts to find Taddei, with the ball finding the touchline instead.
WE ARE UNDERWAY! Roma get us going, attacking from right to left.
There will be however, a minute's silence before the game. Poignantly turned into a minute's applause.
The teams are out, formalities are over, and we are seconds away.
Moments to go before kick-off. Today's referee is Paolo Mazzoleni.
Don't forget to send me your comments, predictions and opinions via Twitter to @mohammedali_93. And I'll post them up!
TEAM NEWS: Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva both suffered knocks against Juve in midweek, but both have recovered in time to face the Lupi. El Shaarawy starts to partner Ibrahimovic in attack after Pato, Inzaghi and Robinho were all ruled out of contention. Meanwhile, Gabriel Heinze starts after missing a training session in midweek, as Francesco Totti returns.
AS ROMA: Stekelenburg, Rosi, Kjaer, Heinze, Taddei, Gago, De Rossi, Marquinho, Totti, Borini, Osvaldo.
CONFIRMED TEAM LINE-UPS: AC MILAN: Abbiati, Bonera, Mexes, Thiago Silva, Mesbah, Nocerino, Ambrosini, Muntari, Emanuelson, Ibrahimovic, El Shaarawy.
Do you enjoy early goals? So do I. In fact, Roma have scored the most goals in the opening 15 minutes of play (11) than anyone else in Serie A. The Giallorossi have netted in each of their last seven visits to AC Milan, whilst winning four of their last five games at the San Siro. I spoil you guys.
Some stats? Yeah, go on then. AC Milan have won this fixture a mammoth 70 times compared to Roma's 38, with 45 draws. Despite leading the table, four points ahead of Juventus, the Rossoneri have only managed two wins in their last five home league games, although haven't conceded in their last three. Allegri's side have only been defeated once in their last 23 games at home.
Luis Enrique has also been vocal ahead of this afternoon's game, stating: ""The game will not change our season. We could win in Milan and lose the other nine games. Or vice versa. We can beat Milan but we must be at 100 per cent."
Ahead of the encounter, Milan's Max Allegri had this to say: "The significance of this game is huge ... the difficulty is that we play against a team that is great in possession, but play well when they do not have possession". Not exactly one to mince his words.
Roma meanwhile, languish in sixth place with 44 points, but could join the likes of Udinese and Napoli who are three points better off, just ahead of the Giallorossi. Luis Enrique's outfit have won their last two league games since their harrowing 2-1 defeat to rivals Lazio, having not conceded since. Let's not forget to mention the last visit of the Lupi to San Siro, where they ran out 1-0 winners in December 2010.
AC Milan head into this league match against Roma on the back of a disenchanting 3-2 aggregate defeat to Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-final. Let's not lie, it was an enthralling game all round, but the Rossoneri will also have (more than) one eye squarely on a titanic Champions League quarter-final game against Barcelona on Wednesday. Just how well will Allegri's men fare this evening?
I'm Mohammed Ali, and I'll be guiding you through today's proceedings from Milan. As always, you can get involved throughout the entire game (yes, the entire game!) on Twitter. Send me your messages to @mohammedali_93. Sorted.
Good afternoon and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE commentary from Serie A. It's a potentially tantalising encounter between AC Milan and AS Roma from the San Siro. Confirmed team line-ups on the way shortly.
