Was let down by his defence as Britos scored with a free header after six minutes, but he could blame no one else for Napoli's second. He was beaten at his near post by Higuain's shot when he should have kept it out.
Was one of Milan's most dangerous players as he charged up and down the right flank, providing a number of good deliveries into the area. However, he left far too much space behind him which Napoli exploited.
Took a few too many risks at the back and came dangerously close to being caught in compromising areas throughout. He seemed extremely static when Napoli came at Milan but made a few key interceptions.
His marking was dreadful as a string of Napoli players could have nodded in the opener. He struggled to cope with Higuain's movement and did not close him as he rifled in Napoli's second of the night.
N. de Jong
The Dutchman patrolled the midfield all evening and made some good challenges, but the time he was a bit too soft Higuain took full advantage and added Napoli's second. He provided the anchor which allowed Abate to push on.
Failed to offer the same kind of width as Abate on the other flank, leaving Milan rather lopsided. He did well to keep up with Callejon on the counterattack but his contribution to the game was minimal.
The Slovenian had a few bright moments in the first half which helped create some of Milan's more threatening moments. His touch was impressive and he was perhaps unfortunate to be withdrawn early in the second half.
Dropped deep to try and orchestrate the play but he was unable to do so effectively. He did not show enough determination to get at the opposition and struggled to find the space in which to find a killer pass.
Did his best to try to get forward and support the attackers but his passing was diabolical at times. He struggled to stamp his mark on the game and wasted opportunities when he moved into the final third.
Never looked wholly interested in the game and only really managed to test Reina with a header in the first half. He never looked like coming away with the ball in a 50-50 and his movement was poor.
Was the only Milan man who looked like getting on the scoresheet as he continually peppered Reina's goal with shots. He hit the bar before seeing his penalty saved by the Spaniard, but he got a deserved goal in second-half stoppage time.
The on-loan keeper made a string of quality saves in the first half to keep his side ahead. He was very vocal with his defence, commanding the box and attempting to ensure that they did not make any slip-ups. He kept out Balotelli's penalty in the second half.
Opened the scoring after just six minutes with a free header inside the area. At the other end he was solid and read the game well to make a number of decent interceptions. He kept tight with Albiol to force Milan out onto the wings.
Earned an assist on the opening goal as he knocked Callejon's free kick back into the danger area. He restricted the space for Milan to probe through the channels but put in a clumsy challenge which gave away the penalty.
Failed to close Abate quick enough and allowed the right-back to put a number of crosses into the area. However, his pace provided a useful tool on the break and he earned an assist for Higuain's goal.
Battled extremely well in the first half and contested every ball in midfield, frequently coming out on top. He wasted a great chance in the opening minutes as he fired over the bar, but he was very dynamic.
Opted to shoot in the opening moments rather than play Higuain in goal and it proved to be one of few bad decisions. His passing let him down at times as he struggled to stamp his mark on the game.
An energetic performance from the Switzerland international as he did not stop running throughout the game. He closed the Milan midfielders as quickly as he could and passed the ball to the forwards as soon as possible.
Did not have an awful lot to defend against in the first half as Emanuelson barely pushed on to support the attack. When he did, Mesto dealt with what he came up against without any problems.
His pace caused problems on the break as he exploited the spaces left by Abate. He linked with those around him brilliantly and helped to create some of Napoli's more threatening moments.
Started brightly, shooting just wide in the fifth minute and dropping deep to link with his team-mates excellently. His movement was consistently brilliant and he got a vital second for his team shortly after the break.
Consistently provided high-quality deliveries into the area, be it from free kicks or open play. He used his pace to good effect on the counterattack and looked to stretch the Milan defence at every opportunity.
