Extremely comfortable night for the England No.1. Did not have to make a single save in the game.
Not the busiest of nights for the City captain but he was commanding when called upon, showing the strength and awareness to get the better of Jones.
Strong and composed as City coped comfortably with Stoke's feeble attacking efforts.
Returned to the side after suspension and handled Shotton then Pennant with ease. Like Richards, constantly provided width by joining the attack.
Booked in the first half for a late challenge on Upson but produced a solid defensive display and continually bombed forward to offer width in attack.
Handed his first start since mid-October and made his point to Mancini with a superb strike from 25 yards out to put City 2-0 up in the 36th minute.
The England midfielder has been something of an unsung hero for City this season. Here, he produced another classy display, dictating much of City's play in midfield and starting attacks.
Controlled the midfield with his classy passing and supreme athleticism. Played the cute passes in the final third and made driving runs from the halfway line through the Stoke midfield.
The Frenchman seems to be slowly growing into his role in the City team. Drifted in from the left and looked to create chances for team-mates or shoot at goal. Lovely square pass for Aguero's second goal of the night and went close himself in the first half, but fizzed his effort just off target.
The Spaniard twinkled for the Premier League leaders with his stylish dribbling and intricate passing. Set the tone for City's patient attacking play before being given a well-earned rest in the 68th minute as Balotelli came on to replace him.
The Argentine scores all types of goals but he won't mind being labelled a supreme poacher. He was on hand in the 29th minute to turn in from two yards on the rebound and netted his second of the night from eight yards in the 54th minute.
The Dane was once again selected ahead of Begovic but didn't cover himself in glory. Tame attempt to stop City's opener and appeared to be caught flat-footed by Johnson's long-range strike that put City two up. Made some decent stops in the second half to keep the final scoreline reasonably respectable.
Strong in the air but clumsy and caught out by City's nimble footwork and quick, short passing.
Struggled throughout the night to deal with Aguero's darting runs into the channel and reacted too slowly to second balls.
Wasted the rare chances he had to run at Clichy and had few opportunities to launch in his trademark long throws.
A centre-back playing out of position at right-back - and it showed. Made a couple of strong challenges but was constanty caught out of position.
Found it difficult when outnumbered as Richards bombed forward to stretch the play. Kept trying and was committed to making tackles and making blocks.
The summer signing from Tottenham started well as he hassled and harried the City players - but like the rest of his team, faded badly once the hosts took the lead.
For all his workrate, he was completely outclassed in central midfield and spend most of the evening chasing shadows. When he did get on the ball, he didn't have the options to do anything inventive with it.
Looked bright on the rare occasions he saw the ball but never threatened the City backline. Replaced by Pennant in the 74th minute.
Dropped back into midfield and was, as ever, a willing runner. Had little influence on the game in the City half.
Started on the left flank and made a couple of half-decent breaks early on. Didn't provide enough defensive cover for Wilson before being replaced by Fuller in the 68th minute.
- C. Pantilimon
- 5 P. Zabaleta
Replaced the injured Richards in the 59th minute and had no trouble.
- 28 K. Touré
Came on for Barry seven minutes from time and forced Sorensen into action with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
- 34 N. de Jong
Replaced Silva in the 68th minute, by which time the victory was already secure and there was no sting left in the game. Some neat touches but didn't really have a clear sight on the Stoke goal.
- 1 A. Begović
Came on for Jones in the 74th minute and looked eager despite having barely any involvement.
Replaced Woodgate 10 minutes from time.
- 32 D. Arismendi
- 26 M. Etherington
- 24 R. Delap
Replaced Jerome in the 68th minute but fared no better than his team-mate as Stoke posed no threat to City.
