Full-time here at the Etihad Stadium and its finished 3-1 here to Manchester City. Roberto Mancini's men are now the only unbeaten home side in the Premier League and have won their last 11 home games. Newcastle matched the home side for large periods but gave away two sloppy penalties that ultimately cost them dear.
Four minutes of added on time here with the points safe for Man City. Dan Gosling's first ever goal for Newcastle will be nothing more than a consolation here.
Newcastle have a consolation goal through Dan Gosling. Demba Ba broke free of the Man City defence and tried to slot the ball past Hart but the Man City keeper got a strong hand to it, only to palm it straight into the path of Gosling just a few yards out.
Gareth Barry now joins the field of play to replace Yaya Toure who receives a standing ovation. This is expedition stuff now by Man City.
Yaya Toure drives forward through the midfield and tries to play in Adam Johnson but Ryan Taylor cuts it out. Toure has been brilliant for Man City today.
Going into the final 10 minutes here at the Etihad. This has been a consummately professional performance from the home side. Newcastle were bright in the first-half but simply haven't come out for the second period.
Hatem Ben Arfa
Ryan Taylor misplaces a pass for Lovenkrands when he really should have done better. Not one of the left-back's best afternoon's in a Newcastle shirt.
Man City will be flattered by the scoreline today. The home side have scored two penalties whilst Newcastle have wasted numerous good chances. This is a harsh lesson for Alan Pardew's men.
Penalty GoalSergio Agüero
The home team are home and dry here as Sergio Aguero slots home a penalty. Ben Arfa made a clumsy tackle on Richards and the Argentinean had no hesitation is slotting home the spot-kick low into the right-hand corner.
Chance for Newcastle as Guthrie tries to slot the ball past Hart from an acute angle but the Man City keeper palms it away with Cabaye arriving late.
Great work from Aguero who takes on three players and into the box before shooting but Krul keeper manages to grab hold of the ball at the second attempt.
Huge let-off for Manchester City as Ben Arfa hits the post for Newcastle. The Frenchmen ghosted between the center-defensive pair and slots the ball past Hart but to the home-sides relief it strikes the foot of the post.
Coloccini has a chance top bring his side back in it but can only glance his header behind him from the corner.
There have been no chances to report in the last few minutes. The home side have killed the tempo here, they are good front-runners and will give Newcastle little opportunity to get back into this game now.
Yaya Toure makes a rare venture forward and powers his way past Coloccini after taking the ball down expertly on his chest but the Argentinean got back to put the ball out for a corner.
Man City are in full control here as Newcastle look out of ideas. The home side will be supremely confident now they are in front and don't appear as if they will look to attack.
Second-half underway here at Etihad. It will be interesting to see how Newcastle respond after going two down late on in the first-half.
First-half whistle goes here at the Etihad with the Premier League leaders 2-0. Somewhat ironic that Newcastle's recent stand-out performer Ryan Taylor was at fault for both the goals. Overall Newcastle will feel hard done by with the scoreline as it is.
Mayhem in the Newcastle defence as Micah Richards doubles Man City's advantage. Nasri played a through-ball for Richards that Ryan Taylor should have cut-out but he lost his footing allowing Richards to poke it home.
Penalty GoalMario Balotelli
Goal to Man City as Balotelli scores from the penalty spott. Yaya Toure's shot was blocked by Ryan Taylor and the referee and no hesitation in pointing to the spot and the Italian slotted it home.
Newcastle have another chance as Demba Ba heads wide from a corner when he should have done better. The Magpies' top scorer was completely unmarked but glanced his effort well wide.
Man City have had 77% of the possession so far in this game but are struggling to create any meaningful chances.
Newcastle are growing in confidence here and are matching Man City. Cabaye is getting on the ball more in the centre of midfield and starting to dictate play
Big chance for Newcastle as Demba Ba wastes an opportunity for the visitors to take the lead. Good play from Ben Arfa as he played Ba in one-on-one but he went for power rather than placement and Hart saved well.
Best chance of the game as Balotelli is thwarted from a fine save from Tim Krul. James Milner put in a hopeful cross that was met by the striker emphatically but it was just too close to the Dutch keeper. Now livening up here.
Patient build-up from Man City as Clichy crosses deep for Balotelli but his header is scrambled away by Taylor and Coloccini.
First touch of the ball for Joe Hart as Sammy Ameobi's cross come shot goes harmlessly into his arms. Was a nice bit of skill from the young forward to find the space, he has been Newcastle's stand-out player thus far.
Worrying scenes for Newcastle as Demba Ba goes down injured. The Senegalese striker jumped with Lescott but landed awkwardly, looks like he will be OK though.
Best chance of the game so far as Aguero turns smartly and shoots just over. The striker spun in one movement to free some room from Coloccini but his shot is just over. Hopefully that is the spark this game needed.
First glimpse of Sammy Ameobi as he runs at the Man City defence but his cross his blocked. Joe Hart is yet to touch the ball today.
Chance for Balotelli to play in Aguero but the Italian over-hit his over-head attempt. There is little urgency from both sides so far.
Despite all the home-sides possession Newcastle look comfortable. Can't see there being many goals in this one this afternoon.
Hatem Ben Arfa is starting for Newcastle today, which is coincidentally his first start in the Premier League since his leg break at the same ground.
Man City are having all the possession at the moment and Micah Richards causes panic in the Newcastle defence. Toure found the right-back in plenty of space who squared the ball for a team mate but Krul scrambled it away.
First attack from the home side but Milner's shot hits Taylor. Man City passed it around the Newcastle area patiently before Milner decided to have a go but the visitors look organised at the back
Joleon Lescott is playing in the defence today on the back of his impressive performance for England against Spain. Man City have all the possession early on.
It's Man City who get us underway here at the Etihad stadium. Newcastle have been resilient in defence this season but are sure to be tested by Aguero and co.
