Liverpool - West Ham Preview: Suarez yet to score past Hammers

The Londoners are one of only four current top-flight teams against whom the Uruguayan has not found the net, but the Hammers cannot yet counter him with former Red Andy Carroll

Luis Suarez will be looking to add West Ham to his list of goalscoring victims when they travel to Liverpool on Saturday.

The Uruguayan has not scored against the London club in two Premier League appearances, making Sam Allardyce's men one of only four current top-flight clubs to have shut out the red-hot striker.

Southampton, Cardiff City and Hull City are the others, although Suarez has only faced the newly-promoted pair once each.

The Uruguayan - who carried a minor calf injury into the game - scored four goals of the highest quality on Wednesday as Norwich City were thrashed 5-1 at Anfield and his continued form is crucial for manager Brendan Rodgers, who will be without Daniel Sturridge until the New Year due to an ankle injury, but the Premier League's top scorer - with 13 goals to his name - is expecting the whole team to contribute in the England man's absence.

"The responsibility is with the squad," Suarez told reporters. "I know I am the striker and I'll try for the team but I think that we have so many players who can help the team going forward. We'll miss Daniel but we'll try to do well without him."

Jose Enrique (knee) remains unavailable for Liverpool, who will not have to face their all-time record signing, Andy Carroll, despite his return to West Ham training after a foot injury.

The striker has not played all season and Allardyce has stressed that he does not expect the 26-year-old to make an appearance before the turn of the year.

West Ham will also be without the suspended Ravel Morrison and the injured Winston Reid (ankle), while Mladen Petric (calf) is a doubt.

The Londoners have not won at Anfield in 50 years and failed to score on each of their last five trips - although two of those games ended 0-0.
