R. Sterling 29'
I hope you enjoyed today's coverage. Again, my name is William Shand and enjoy the rest of your Saturday!
It was an entertaining match and, at times in the second half, Reading gave the hosts the odd scare. Overall, though, Liverpool were good value for their lead with Sterling and Suarez linking up brilliantly throughout.
Brendan Rodgers records his first home league win as Liverpool manager!

We're into the final minute of injury time...
90' + 1'
Yellow Card Adrian Mariappa
Reading get a dangerous cross into the box, but it just evades Jason Roberts and Liverpool clear.
Nicky Shorey lines up a freekick from 30 yards out. It makes its way over the wall but it's straight at Brad Jones and easy for the keeper.
It's whipped in again from Reading but Jones is on hand again to collect comfortably. He's been very assured today.
Raheem Sterling is withdrawn to a well-deserved standing ovation and replaced by Jordan Henderson. The 17-year-old has, again, been excellent and fully deserved his goal.
Reading are, um...readying Jason Roberts to come on as their third and final substitute. He replaces Danny Guthrie in a sign of attacking intent.
Jose Enrique has only started one league match for Liverpool this season but he has been scintillating since he came on a few minutes ago. A point to prove, perhaps?
Another miss from Suarez - he is played in again by Enrique but shoots wide from close range.
He's not done much wrong today but that's not one for the highlight reel. Luis Suarez is on the receiving end of a great ball from Enrique which he blazes about fifty yards into the sky. Oh dear.
Suso is off for Jose Enrique in what may be a clear indication that Brendan Rodgers is happy to see out a 1-0 win. Could this come back to haunt the Liverpool manager?
Adam Le Fondre
Liverpool are turning the screw. Agger's shot is blocked from 6 yards out but the shot is blocked, before McCarthy saves well from Johnson on the rebound.
McCarthy is called into action again as he saves smartly from a low Gerrard shot from the edge of the area. The match is really opening up for both sides here.
Shelvey is played in by a glorious cross from Luis Suarez, but his first touch lets him down and the ball trickles harmlessly into Alex McCarthy's arms.
You really feel that the next goal in this match will be absolutely crucial. One more for Liverpool will kill the game, but if Reading score then it's game on.
Just over from Skrtel! Gerrard delivers the corner in and, even though the ball is behind the Slovakian defender, he directs a powerful header just over the top of the Reading bar.
Nuri Sahin is off for Jonjo Shelvey. The Turkish midfielder has been impressive today, particularly in the middle portion of the first half.
Reading have definitely came in to the match more within the past ten minutes but it's another chance for Liverpool. Sterling - who has been excellent so far, breaks down the left hand side and slides the ball into Suarez who drags his first time shot wide of the post.
Yellow Card Daniel Agger
Another good save from Brad Jones! Jobi McAnuff cuts inside beyond a couple of Liverpool challenges and shoots from outside the area to Jones' left hand side, but the keeper is down smartly to save and punch the ball away.
Reading whip a free-kick into the box. It's delivered with pace but Brad Jones is out to meet it with a strong punch. The Australian stopper has looked very solid when called upon today.
Just seconds before McCleary's chance, Suarez had worked his way into a scoring position, but McCarthy saved well from close range.
Massive chance for Reading! Gareth McCleary is clean through on Brad Jones, but the Liverpool goalkeeper spreads himself well and saves the shot which was directed straight at him. Will Reading rue this missed chance?
Liverpool are still on top here, with Reading not offering any signs of a second half recovery thus far.
We're back underway...
So, Brian McDermott will certainly have something to say to his team at half time. They've created absolutely nothing going forward and will have to improve dramatically in the second half if they are to get anything out of this match.
It's been one way traffic at Anfield and Brendan Rodgers will be more than happy with his side's first half display.
45' + 2'
The corner amounts to nothing and that should draw an end to the first half's proceedings.
45' + 1'
Liverpool have a late corner...
Glen Johnson is tee'd up by Raheem Stirling and unleashes a shot from the edge of the area, but it's comfortable for Alex McCarty in the Reading goal who gathers at the second attempt.
The game has settled down a little following Liverpool's goal. There's been no massive fightback from Reading but Brian McDermott will be glad the floodgates haven't opened.
So close from Luis Suarez! Danny Guthrie cheaply concedes possession in midfield and plays the ball right to Luis Suarez, the Uruguayan runs with the ball and unleashes a fierce shot from 25 yards that fizzes just beyond the Reading goalpost.
Assist Luis Suárez
GOAL! Raheem Sterling scores his first Premier League goal! Luis Suarez is the provider as he plays a wonderful first time pass over the top of the Reading defence which Sterling latches on to before finishing with aplomb beyond McCarthy.
Goal Raheem Sterling
Sahin is really starting to pull the strings in the Liverpool midfield.
Liverpool are getting closer. Sahin plays a brilliant ball to Sterling on the left. Sterling holds the ball up and plays in Sahin who's first time shot is just over the bar.
Reading's Jem Karacan is replaced by Gareth McCleary due to injury.
Terrific effort from Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan tries a shot from the edge of the area but it is resolutely blocked. The ball breaks back to him and, with no backlift, he tries to chip the Reading keeper, his effort just going the wrong side of the bar.
It's a brilliant break from Liverpool. Brad Jones collects confidently from a Reading cross and quickly distributes the ball to the midfield. Within 20 seconds Liverpool are up the other end of the pitch, but Sterling can't get his cross from the byline into the box.
Pogrebnyak is cutting an isolated figure up front. As yet, Reading have not managed to get any bodies forward to support him. Or, indeed, any meaningful possession.
Luis Suarez skips by a pair of challenges before slipping in Sterling, but the 17-year-old is unable to get his shot beyond the Reading defender, who blocks well.
Glen Johnson gets to the byline and puts across a low cross. Reading win the first ball but it falls to Raheem Sterling who just can't manage to get it under control. The hosts in control.
Liverpool are pushing and probing on the edge of the Reading area, but as yet there's no end product.
Reading have started well and force a corner, but it's cleared by Steven Gerrard.
And we're off!
So, no Pepe Reina for Liverpool. The Spaniard hasn't been in the best form as of late but Brian McDermott will certainly be glad his team will be looking to put the ball past Brad Jones rather than the Spanish international.

It's been 165 days since Liverpool last won a league match at Anfield. On 8th May 2012 they thrashed Chelsea 4-1, but I reckon Brendan Rodgers would bite your hand off for a 1-0 squeaker today.
Saturday at 3pm? Must be football time! Hello everyone, my name is William Shand and I'll be your host for Liverpool's latest Anfield adventure. Today the Reds host newly-promoted Reading, who will be looking to claim a famous scalp and gain three crucial points.
