• Anfield, Liverpool
Referee: A. Taylor

That about wraps it at Anfield. United leave with a well-earned point, but they never looked like they were trying to claim anything more than that. Ander Herrera was exceptional again in midfield, but the Pogba conundrum continues, with the Frenchman something of a no-show. Nevertheless, Mourinho will be content with a point - Klopp and Liverpool will be frustrated, though.
Liverpool aren't impressed with United's tactics there, as Young is informed that he is about to be withdrawn and he then heads to the other side of the pitch just before his number is called. Eventually Shaw replaces him.
Yellow Card Marouane Fellaini-Bakkioui
Fellaini goes into the book now for a cynical foul in the Liverpool half.
Yellow Card Zlatan Ibrahimović
Yellow card Zlatan Ibrahimović
There will be three minutes added on.
Still Liverpool push men forward in search of a winner. United appear to have long since abandoned any chase for a win.
Alberto Moreno Pérez
And the second change sees Moreno come on at left-back for Milner, who appears to have picked up a knock.
Roberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira
Divock Okoth Origi
Two more changes for Liverpool now, the first of which sees Firmino replaced by Origi.
WHAT A TACKLE! Coutinho brilliantly flicks a pass into the path of Firmino, who latches on to it and looks destined to slot past De Gea when one-on-one, but Valencia gets back and produces a sensational last-ditch tackle.
Rooney loses Milner for a second time, as he gets into the final third and plays a good low cross into the area, but everyone misses it.
Wide! Blind's corner is well met by Fellaini, but his header goes comfortably wide of the target.
Corner to Manchester United now, as Valencia's cross is sent deep towards Ibrahimovic and Can nods it behind.
Liverpool are straight on to Rooney, attacking the United captain's flank. Milner is played in behind him and he manages to cut a pass back to the edge of the box for Coutinho. He links with Can on the edge of the box and tries to get a shot away, but United crowd the Brazilian out. In the end Clyne gets a shot away, but it is blocked.
Mourinho's first switch sees Rooney enter in place on Rashford. The captain heads straight over to the right flank.
Almost a nasty situation for United. Blind slips and Mane pounces on the ball, racing forward before eventually feeding Firmino into the box, but Bailly covers brilliantly and sweeps up.
We are back under way, with both players continuing. United enjoy some momentary respite, but Liverpool are swiftly back on the attack.
The resulting corner comes to nothing and play is swiftly stopped as an aerial duel between Rashford and Milner leaves the latter needing medical attention.
AMAZING SAVE! Coutinho bursts into life as he comes inside from the left and lets fly with a venomous 30-yard effort which appears destined for the top-right corner. De Gea launches himself across the goal, however, and somehow tips it around the post. Absolutely sensational stop.
Liverpool are well on top at the moment. United appear to be settling for a point - they aren't looking particularly threatening at all.
United are just trying to re-assert themselves with some attacking possession, but a Rashford cross comes to nothing and then Blind concedes a free-kick.
Good defending from Pogba, as he gets back and intercepts a loose pass on the edge of the area just before Milner can get to it. Both go down in pain, but neither suffers any lasting damage.
Good play by Coutinho, as he bursts into life in the inside-left channel before flicking the ball into the area for Lallana. He races on to the pass, but Smalling comes across and does just enough, conceding a corner and he then wins a free-kick from the resulting set-piece.
Suddenly Liverpool look resurgent. This time Herrera is robbed in the centre circle and the hosts charge forward. Mane gets on the ball and is partially halted by Fellaini, but a kind ricochet sees the ball come to Firmino. Nevertheless, the combination of Bailly and Valencia win it back and then the Brazilian is penalised.
Liverpool are ramping up the pressure and intensity now. Lallana's first involvement sees him come in from the left and go for goal, but his effort goes comfortably wide.
Klopp's first throw of the proverbial dice sees Lallana come on for the anonymous Sturridge.
GREAT SAVE! Can does well, as he bulldozes his way into the United half and manages to squeeze a left-footed effort towards the bottom-right corner, but De Gea heroically keeps it out. Great stop.
Herrera is penalised now, as he collides with Coutinho and the Brazilian goes to ground. The United man is furious, adamant that he pulled out of the challenge, and the replays suggest he was right to feel disappointed.
WHAT A CHANCE! Brilliant play by Pogba, as he drops a shoulder and shakes off Henderson before crossing. Ibrahimovic peels away to the back post and meets it, but he inexplicably fails to hit the target, seeming to nod back across the face of goal. Liverpool survive.
Herrera really is everywhere at the moment. This time he pounces on a heavy touch from Can in the Liverpool half. He quickly has three men around him and, even though he is off-balance, he manages to jink between the lot and scoop a clever pass into the area for Ibrahimovic. Unfortunately the striker wasn't on the same wave length.
More excellent play from Herrera. Mane find himself with Bailly for company in the United area and the winger just about squeezes past him, but the Spanish midfielder is there in a flash, getting himself between his opponent and the ball, eventually winning a free-kick.
What is Karius doing! The goalkeeper receives a back pass and then gifts the ball straight to Pogba. Luckily for Liverpool, though, Ibrahimovic is offside when he receives the ball from the Frenchman.
Better from Liverpool. Coutinho feeds Firmino up the left and he squeezes a cross past Valencia towards Clyne, but the hard-working Young is there to hack away.
Good start for United, as Valencia bursts up the flank and manages to get a cross into the area, but Matip is there to clear his lines.
Off we go. Liverpool get the action back under way.
Taylor brings the first half to a close with the score still level, but it will be United who are much the happier side. They've kept things tight and afforded Liverpool very little so far. The visitors were far superior during the first 30 minute, before the hosts' gradual improvement. Mourinho will want his men to do more in attack, though - as an offensive commodity they've been ineffective.
Yellow Card Ashley Young
Another yellow card for United. Herrera is caught late by Coutinho and escape a booking, but Young does not as he talks himself into the book.
There will be a minute added on here.
Yellow Card Eric Bertrand Bailly
There is the first yellow card of the match, as Bailly barges into Sturridge from behind. A little soft, to be honest. The resulting free-kick from Coutinho is really poor, though.
Ibrahimovic is another United player to struggle to have an impact so far. This time Pogba attempts to release him in behind and he tussles with Matip. Eventually the Swede is penalised for getting a little too physical.
Rashford again tries to cause some problems out on the right. He gets past Milner and just about squeezes past Henderson, but a third defender is too much and the attack peters out. He is surrounded more or less every time he picks up the ball.
Good move from the hosts, as Fellaini steps up and misses his interception, allowing Can to feed Mane into the area. The Senegal forward's backheel into the danger zone is strong, but Herrera mops up to good effect and clears the danger.
This is a good spell of pressure for Liverpool. Coutinho is beginning to influence the game a bit more and he tries to waves his magic again. His first pass is partially blocked, but he manages to collect it again himself in the area. He turns back on to his right foot and attempts to penetrate the United defence, but Herrera blocks his next effort.
The corner doesn't give United much to worry about and within a few seconds the ball is all the way back with Karius.
Back come Liverpool, appearing encouraged by their recent improvement. Coutinho's initial pass into the area is well cut out by Valencia, but the hosts keep the pressure on. Eventually Mane feeds Clyne on the overlap and Young gets a well-timed challenge in, conceding a corner. He's adamant the last touch came off the right-back, though.
The Liverpool free-kick comes to nothing and United are quick to get up the other end, as De Gea's kick finds Young. The winger brings the ball down brilliantly, links with Rashford and then crosses, but Ibrahimovic is penalised for a shove on Lovren. It's just as well, too, as Karius was flapping at that.
It's getting a little more heated now. Herrera catches Coutinho in midfielder and is penalised, resulting in the Spaniard directing some choice words at his counterpart, clearly of the opinion that the Liverpool man dived.
Save! That's the first time Liverpool have really strung a few passes together in the United half and it produces a chance. Henderson clips a decent cross into the danger zone and Sturridge peels away to the back post and sends his header straight to De Gea.
The visitors have done a good job of a nullifying Liverpool's threat out on the left so far, with Blind and Young on top. Again they cope, as Young manages to knock the ball on to Clyne and the ball goes out for a goal-kick.
Much better from Rashford. The England international runs at Milner, does a stepover and bursts past him, clipping a teasing low cross into the danger zone, which Karius just about gets a touch on to divert it out for a throw-in.
Good play by Coutinho, as he bursts past Herrera and gets into the United half. He passes forward to Sturridge, but his ball is poor and the striker can't get it under control.
Another error from Rashford, this time as he tries to find Ibrahimovic in the Liverpool half and sees his pass easily cut out. Liverpool get the ball forward quickly and Can goes for goal from distance and his effort goes nowhere near the target.
Good football from United, as Pogba, Fellaini and Herrera keep the ball well and then the Spaniard darts forward, jinking away from Henderson before clipping a pass out to the right for Rashford. The youngster takes his eye off it, though, and allows it to pass under his foot.
Fellaini is there yet again, this time partially getting in the way of a Henderson pass, before Bailly steps up and completely cuts it out. United are bossing this in midfield at the moment.
Exceptional tackle from Bailly. Liverpool looked to be breaking forward through the centre with Firmino, but the defender hooks himself around the Brazilian and steals the ball. Herrera then wins a free-kick from Coutinho a few seconds later up the other end.
The hosts are yet to get going so far. Again the visitors look bright on the left - Young playing inside to Pogba for the second time in two minutes. This time the Frenchman comes forward, picks out Ibrahimovic and is then teed up by the Swede, but his eventual effort is well blocked.
Good play by United, as Blind and Young link on the left flank. The latter then plays the ball inside to Pogba, but his ridiculously audacious 40-yard effort sails well over. Rashford with just Milner for company on the right does not look impressed.
The inclusion of Fellaini will certainly have drawn some groans from a few United fans, but he has started very well so far, winning several aerial duels and making himself a real defensive wall in midfield.
It's frantic and hectic so far. Pogba tries to get himself on the ball in an attempt to create danger, but Henderson does well to get a tackle in. He's yet to get into this, the Frenchman.
Liverpool play the free-kick well, keeping a very high line and Fellaini falls into the trap, moving too early and getting caught offside. Poor from the Belgian.
The hosts opt to go long this time, as Matip's lofted pass is played in behind Bailly for Sturridge, but his first touch is heavy and it goes for a goal-kick. United are swift to get the ball up the other end and Ibrahimovic wins a free-kick from Lovren, who makes a silly challenge.
Liverpool are just starting to impose themselves a little more on the ball and they put United under a bit of pressure, but eventually Milner's pass up the left flank is too heavy for Firmino and Bailly is able to shepherd it out of play.
Good pressing from Liverpool, as Coutinho robs Valencia with a good tackle and manages to find Firmino in the process. He cuts in from the left and crosses towards Sturridge, but Smalling heads away with ease.
There have already been a number of fouls in this, with the latest won by Pogba, as he gets the ball out of his feet well after a good pass from Herrera and is then tripped by Matip. It's about 35 yards from goal and Ibrahimovic steps up - he blasts it well over, though. Poor.
A decent opportunity opens up for United to get the ball into the box as Rashford is released just to the right of the penalty area, but he attempts to take Lovren on and he overruns the ball, conceding a goal-kick.
Well, there's the first late challenge. Milner picks the ball up the left-back spot and offloads possession, but that doesn't stop Rashford clattering into the makeshift left-back. Referee Anthony Taylor gives him a talking to, but nothing more.
Off we go! United get us started on Merseyside.
The two teams are out at Anfield, with kick-off just a few moments away.
Eric Bailly was just receiving treatment on his left thigh and he doesn't look particularly happy. No indication of a last-minute change, but it's one to keep an eye on over the next few minutes.
Liverpool come into the match on the back of a fine five-match winning streak across all competitions, but it remains to be seen if the international break upset their rhythm. They are only three points behind pacesetters Manchester City and will fancy their chances against a United side who haven't been at their best for most of the season so far.
From United's perspective, perhaps there are more surprises surrounding the exclusions today. Luke Shaw is left on the bench, while Anthony Martial is reported to have picked up a slight knee injury in the last day or so. There's no place at all in the squad for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who already appears to be on borrowed time at Old Trafford. Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin are also absent.
On the other side of things, Mourinho has also made just the two alterations. Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard both drop to the bench, with Marouane Fellaini unsurprisingly picked to partner Paul Pogba, while Ashley Young - a rather more surprising inclusion - also comes into the team.
Jurgen Klopp has made two changes to his team from the 2-1 win at Swansea City last time out before the international break, with Daniel Sturridge and Emre Can the ones to profit. Adam Lallana and the injured Georginio Wijnaldum are the ones to drop out today.
Let's be honest, this match needs little introduction. England's two most successful teams go up against each other in what should be a thriller at Anfield. Perhaps the rivalry between the two has become a little more contrived in recent years, with the dearth of homegrown talent on either side affecting that, but it still remains a huge fixture.
