Good distribution and was tested very little by Everton.
The Spaniard was comfortable at the back and grew into the game as an atacking threat in the second-half.
Dominant in the air throughout the game and was posed few problems by the Everton attack.
Stuck to his task defensively against Pienaar and Baines despite occasionally ball-watching. Made a significant contribution at the other end with a powerful shot in the build-up to Gerrard's opener. Nearly scored himself but couldn't get on the end of Downing's cross.
Knows all about the the importance of this game and produced a commanding display, always in control.
Worked hard throughout but never looked particularly comfortable on the right side of midfield. Could also have done more to track Baines' forward runs.
No surprise that he crunched into some early tackles and scurried around the pitch looking to win the ball. Lacked quality in possession and at times overpowered, especially by Fellaini.
Lacked the pace and trickery to cause Hibbert any real problems. Did deliver one excellent cross for Kelly in the second half.
The Liverpool captain marked his 400th Premier League appearance with a deadly derby hat-trick. Produced a superb finish to stroke the ball home from the edge of the box for the opener, emphatically smashed in the second after the break and capped the victory in added time. Another inspirational performance on a big night at Anfield.
Chosen to start alongside Suarez and won some dangerous headers, including one in the first half to set up a chance for Suarez. Lacked mobility and his touch was often poor when in dangerous positions. Fired narrowly wide when presented with the chance to put the Reds 3-0 up and important defensively at set-pieces.
The Uruguayan's finishing was poor - highlighted by a woeful effort in the second half - but his all-round play was integral to Liverpool's victory. Wonderful skill in the penalty area to create Gerrard's second and third goals.
The American made sharp saves early on to deny Gerrard and Suarez - but he will take some responsibility for Liverpool's opener after failing to deal with Kelly's shot.
Strong in the air and showed good reading of the game. Stuck tight to Suarez and had an intriguing duel with the Uruguayan.
Very solid in defence against Downing, getting tight to the Liverpool winger and making some robust tackles. Lacked quality on the ball.
Not always comfortable defending but a constant threat in attack, where he combined well with Pienaar and produced some dangerous crosses.
Worked hard but never really caused any problems with his head-down running. Replaced by Drenthe in the 61st minute.
The French defender showed good anticipation but was weak in the challenge against Suarez as the Uruguayan set-up Gerrard's second goal.
The Belgian was excellent in the heart of the Everton midfield, showing strength, anticipation and quality on the ball.
Classy in possession but lacked the creativity to produce defence-splitting passes. Perhaps could have done more to track Gerrard defensively when the Liverpool captain bombed forward.
Lively and intelligent on the ball despite a tendency to over-complicate things. Lost the ball in the build-up to Gerrard's second goal and booked for a nasty-looking foul on Henderson.
The Argentine worked tirelessly and showed good strength with his back to goal - but rarely caused any problems for the home defenders. Saw one header saved by Reina before being replaced by Osman in the 61st minute.
Seemed to switch between playing as a central striker and left midfielder. Strong and a threat in the air but was clumsy on the ball and failed to track Kelly's forward runs. Replaced by Jelavic in the 61st minute.
- 1 J. Mucha
- 5 J. Heitinga
- 18 P. Neville
Came on in the 61st minute and played with energy without doing any damage.
- 17 T. Cahill
Replaced Stracqualursi in the 61st minute but didn't have the time or space to use his creativity.
Another 61st minute substitute, he only had one sight at goal but steered his effort wide.
