Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Italy seemed well on their way to a goal glut this evening after taking a 4-0 lead into the break, but they were unable to add to the scoreline in a frustrating second 45 minutes for Giampiero Ventura. However, Andrea Belotti's brace along with strikes from Ciro Immobile and Antonio Candreva secured the comfortable win. A result that will keep them level on points with Spain at the top of Group G.
FULL-TIME: LIECHENTENSTEIN 0-4 ITALY
90' + 3' The referee ends the contest.
90' + 2' SAVE! Zaza still cannot score as he collects Insigne's low pass into the box, but his left-footed drive from close range is saved by Jehle. A frustrating second half for the Azzurri.
90' + 1' PENALTY SHOUT! Eder gets bundled over in the box by Oehri, but the referee dismisses the claims for a penalty.
90' There will be two minutes of added time.
89' Zaza misses another opening as the Azzurri search for a fifth goal. Verratti releases his run with a ball over the top, but he takes an age to sort his feet out and tries an ambitious overhead kick when the ball bounces, allowing Jehle to smother.
88' CHANCE! Space opens up for Zaza to strike at goal through the middle, but he can only fire his effort straight at Jehle.
85' Jehle is sharp to come off his line to make a vital clearance ahead of De Rossi as Verratti's throughball almost released his run in the left inside channel.
84' Zaza lets himself down with his first touch of the game he sends his attempted throughball for Eder out for a goal-kick.
P. Jehle
Yellow Card
Liechtenstein
83' Jehle is booked for wasting time.
82' CHANCE! Zappacosta lifts an inviting cross to the back post and Belotti rises highest, but he can only send his effort over the bar. So close to his hat-trick.
S. Zaza
C. Immobile
Italy
81' Immobile has played well tonight and gets brought off early for Zaza.
81' The ball falls kindly for Belotti in the box and he turns his man with ease, but as he pulls the trigger the referee's whistle goes up for offside. He may never get his hat-trick this evening.
79' Italy are just taking the pace out of the game now. They seem to be in limitation mode now and are not taking any huge risks pressing forward.
77' Insigne takes the resulting free-kick from Kaufmann's challenge, and although he curls his effort over the wall Jehle makes a comfortable save.
D. Kaufmann
Yellow Card
Liechtenstein
76' Kaufmann cynically chops down Eder on a break and goes into the book, presenting the Azzurri with a decent chance from a free-kick 25 yards from goal.
E. Martins
A. Candreva
Italy
74' Candreva has played well today and now makes way for Eder.
72' Ventura will be slightly concerned by his side's lack of clinical edge in the second half. They were good in and around the box in the first period, but have been sloppy since the break.
71' MISS! Insigne puts the ball on a plate for Belotti once again as he fires a ball across the face of goal, but the striker fails to connect with his header. You won't get many better chances at scoring a hat-trick in international football.
68' CHANCE! Insigne gets in behind Rechsteiner and knocks the ball back across the middle. Kaufmann misses his clearance and the ball falls perfectly for Belotti, but he scuffs his effort straight at Jehle.
L. Insigne
G. Bonaventura
Italy
67' Bonaventura makes way for Insigne.
65' Italy press forward and and Candreva has space and time to take on a shot from 30 yards, but his effort is tame and saved with ease by Jehle.
64' Candreva takes the set-piece, but his effort is cleared away by the home side's defence. The Azzurri just need to regain some urgency here.
Y. Oehri
Yellow Card
Liechtenstein
63' Oehri goes into the book for a loose challenge on Zappacosta.
62' Bonaventura takes the free-kick and slams his effort over the bar. That was pretty horrendous from the midfielder.
61' Bonaventura wins a free-kick right on the edge of the box on the left flank as Christen brings him down. A dangerous moment for the home side.
59' The tempo has just dropped over the last couple of minutes and that has allowed Liechtenstein to make a few forrays forward. Ventura will not be too satisfied with his side's approach since the restart.
57' Verratti's free-kick is cleared and Zappacosta almost makes a crucial error at the back as his backpass to Buffon is short. Salanovic almost pounces, but the veteran keeper races off his line and times his slide to perfection.
55' Burgmeier catches Belotti late and the visitors are awarded a free-kick 35 yards from goal. Verratti and Candreva stand over the ball with the PSG man, looking the favourite to take it.
53' Verratti slides a throughball in for the run of Immobile, but the ball just skips off the surface and into the grasp of the advancing Jehle.
51' Candreva leads Italy on a counter down the right and he has support all to his left, but for some reason opts to go to his right with Belotti, but the striker loses possession under pressure.
50' CHANCE! Zappacosta's cross is cleared but only as far as De Rossi on the edge of the box. He lets fly with a low volley, but it travels just past the post.
49' Candreva surges down the right again, but this time his cross is claimed by Jehle at the near post. All the line of supply is coming down the Italy right flank.
47' Italy are straight on the offensive and Candreva hits a dangerous cross to the back post, but Belotti just cannot make enough contact to trouble Jehle.
46' We're back underway in this Group G clash.
Italy are in complete control of this match at the break as they have brushed Liechtenstein aside in the first half. Andrea Belotti has been at the top of his game, scoring two goals and setting up another for Ciro Immobile. Antonio Candreva notched the other, leaving Giampiero Ventura's men on the brink of victory.

Goal
Italy
44' GOAL!!!! Now Belotti has his second of the match and Italy their fourth. The striker makes a good run over the top and is picked out by a fine ball from Bonaventura. Belotti finishes well as he fires his left-footed strike through the legs of the advancing Jehle to find the net.
42' DISALLOWED GOAL! Italy think they have their fourth as Belotti backheels the ball past Jehle, but the linesman has his flag up for offside against Candreva who played in the cross. A nice finish anyway from the Azzurri forward.
41' A poor pass on the edge of the box lets the Azzurri down, with Candreva the guilty party on this occasion as his ball for Belotti goes astray.
39' Belotti has space and time on the right flank to pick out Immobile in the box, but he opts to play his pass to the edge of the box. No one in a white shirt is expecting that from him and Bonaventura fails to gather it, allowing the home side to clear.

36' Salanovic makes a press into the final third running at Romagnoli, and the defenders does just enough to force the ball behind for a corner.
34' Italy surge forward down the right and De Rossi slides the ball back to Candreva on the edge of the box. The Inter man shoots with his left foot, but it lacks the accuracy of his previous effort sailing well over the bar.
A. Candreva
Goal
Italy
32' GOAL!!! Italy have their third goal of the night as Candreva converts with ease from close range. De Sciglio did well to keep the ball in on the byline and his low cross was deflected into the midfielder's path. He made no mistake from six yards dispatching his strike into the net.
30' An offside decision goes against Immobile, sparing Liechtenstein who were short of numbers at the back.
29' The home side are unable to pressure the Azzurri from the resulting corner, and are exposed on the counter.

26' Candreva lifts a dangerous cross for Bonaventura's run at the back post, and Jehle takes the midfielder out of the equation by punching the ball clear ahead of him. All hands on deck for Liechtenstein at the back.
25' OFF THE LINE! Candreva's corner causes havoc in the area before it falls to Bonucci. He strikes at goal, but Burgmeier clears it off the line. Belotti pounces on the rebound, only for Jehle to smother his shot with his body.
24' Jehle is forced into action again at his near post as Zappacosta hammers the ball towards goal, but the keeper just gets down in time to push it past the post.

20' Zappacosta opts to whip a dangerous cross into the box from the right flank and Immobile peels off his man, but Polverino just gets there ahead him to poke the ball back to Jehle.
18' Candreva smacks the ball into the near post, looking for a mistake from Jehle, but the keeper does well to claim the ball with Immobile lurking.
16' Wieser bursts into space, but gets brought down by a sliding challenge from De Rossi. The home side win a free-kick, but cannot threaten with the set-piece as Christen loses out to De Sciglio on the flank.
15' CHANCE! Candreva drifts into space on the right and no blue shirt goes to close him down so he strikes at goal. The angle is against him, but the ball flies dangerously towards the bottom corner just edging past the post.
14' Italy are all over the home side at the moment and are encamped in and around the box, giving them no room to break out.
A. Belotti

12' Belotti wins his header and knocks the ball into the path of Immobile to do the rest.
C. Immobile

A. Romagnoli
Assist
Italy
11' Romagnoli won his header in his aerial duel and it looked as though it might find the net anyway, but Belotti was on hand to make sure.
A. Belotti
Goal
Italy
11' GOAL!!!! Belotti opens the scoring as he reacts on the line to divert Romagnoli's header into the net. Good positioning from the striker and a quick reaction to steer the ball past Jehle.
10' The visitors win a corner on the right and the centre-backs pile forward into the penalty area, waiting Candreva's delivery.

3' Liechtenstein build down the left through Oheri and Burgmeier, but the ball travels out of play as the left-back tries to release the run of his team-mate.
1' Salanovic makes a neat turn inside the box and has room to fire in a low cross, but Bonucci steers the ball away from danger.

Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the World Cup qualifying clash between Liechtenstein and Italy at the Rheinpark Stadion.
