Chris Wood struck the post and Anthony Knockaert went close, while Matt Smith was kept off the scoresheet by Kasper Schmeichel at the King Power Stadium on Sunday

After opening day victories, Leicester City and Leeds United shared the points in their second matches of the new Championship season in a 0-0 draw.

Chances were at a premium at the King Power Stadium, with neither goalkeeper really tested for the majority of Sunday's Championship encounter.

In a game that saw five yellow cards, the first sight of goal did not come until the 81st minute.

Andy King had threatened the Leeds goal but his finishing lacked power and Paddy Kenny handled everything the hosts put in his penalty area.

With nine minutes to go, Leicester substitute Chris Wood came the closest to breaking the deadlock with a low shot that struck the post.

The New Zealand international drifted past Jason Pearce and although his shot beat Kenny, the woodwork denied him.

Anthony Knockaert also went close late on and Leeds substitute Matt Smith very nearly snatched all three points for the visitors in injury time.

Stephen Warnock delivered a pinpoint cross into the penalty area and Smith rose above his marker to head at goal, but Kasper Schmeichel tipped the ball wide as the game ended goalless.
