And that's it! The referee blows for full time, and the final scoreline here at the San Siro, is Inter 4-4 Palermo. I've been Alex Mott, thanks for joining me.
Yellow CardAndrea Ranocchia
It's a free kick to Palermo now. Going through on goal, Vazquez is fouled from behind by Nagatomo on the edge of the area. And after a prolonged run up, Miccoli fires it just over the bar.
Whoever says Italian football is defensive and boring should be directed towards this game tonight. It has been unreal.
GOOOOAAAALLLL PALERMO. And it's Miccoli this time with his hat-trick. Running through onto a pass, the diminutive striker shoots from the left-hand side of the area, and watches as it goes past Cesar, and into the bottom right-hand corner. All-square. 4-4. Quite unfathomable.
Yellow CardJ. Obi
A corner from Palermo is taken by Miccoli, but it's a poor one, and Inter clear away the danger.
This game has really calmed down now. And to be honest, if it had got anymore exciting, I think I might've self-combusted.
Obi goes flying over the advertising hoardings and comes out covered in snow. That, is the cherry on top of tonight's cake, as far as I'm concerned.
It's Palermo on the attack now, but Miccoli is taken down on the left-hand side, and a free kick is given. The veteran whips the ball in himself, but it's poor and Lucio clears.
Wow. I've finally caught my breath. It seems though, Inter haven't! A cross from the right is aimed towards the far post. Pazzini nods it back across goal, and Milito is there once again to score his, and Inter's, fifth. It's disallowed for offside though, and Palermo escape.
GOOOAAAALLLL INTER. And it's Milito with his fourth. FOURTH! A cross from Zanetti from the right is struck low, and the Argentine times his run to perfection, and puts it in first time from 8yds out. 4-3. Unbelievable.
GOOOAAALLLL PALERMO. And that is another wonderful goal. A cross from Balzaretti is fired in from the left, and Miccoli, diving at goal, gets his head onto the ball, and puts it in. 3-3. What. A. Game.
Milito with some fantastic work to dispossess Bertolo on the halfway line, His good work is ruined though, as his pass to Zanetti is overhit, and the ball runs away for a throw in.
GOOOAAAALLLLL INTER. And it's Milito's hat-trick!!! A pass from Cambiasso finds Milito, and the Argentine goes through on goal, dummies, goes round Viviano, and slots it into an empty net. 3-2. A brilliant hat-trick.
Milito is so close there! A cross from the left is whipped into the box brilliantly, and Milito is there unmarked at the far post, only for the ball to fly just inches over his head.
Penalty GoalDiego Milito
GOOOAAALLLL INTER. Milito with his second of the night. Slotting in the penalty; the 'keeper diving to his right; Milito finding the bottom right-hand corner.
Nagatomo goes through, and is tripped inside the area by Mantovani.
OOHHH. Penalty Inter!!!
Yellow CardEzequiel Muñoz
And straight up the other end, Milito goes through, and fires a shot just wide from the edge of the box.
GOOOOAAAALLLL PALERMO. And it's Miccoli with an absolute beauty. Running away from goal on the left-hand side, he hits it early; catches Cesar unawares, and wheels away as the ball ends up rustling the net at the far-post.
Nagatomo goes on a surging run down the left, but his low cross is a poor one, and Silvestre clears away the danger.
Inter are having the lion's share of the possession so far. But, as yet, they haven't created a chance to speak of.
And we're back. Inter get us underway, kicking from left-to-right.
And that's it. Half time. 1-1.
OOHHH. So close. Cambiasso goes on a marauding run into the box; goes round the 'keeper, but can't quite get his shot away. Great defending by Palermo there.
Sneijder finds Milito inside the area, and...GOOOAAAALL. Oh. No. Offside.
Zanetti puts in a wonderful ball from the right , but Pazzini can't quite get on the end of it, and the ball runs away for a throw in.
Sneijder's getting on the ball now, really, for the first time in the game. His cross from the left though is a poor one, and Mantovani clears away the danger.
Milito with a shot from the edge of the area, but it goes over the bar. That was a difficult one. He took it first time, and just didn't get his head over the ball.
Oh yeah. Ranocchia's ok now.
Corner for Inter now. Sneijder whips it in from the right, but it's cleared away by Mantovani.
There's been a clash of heads between Ranocchia and Poli in the middle of the park. And it's Ranocchia who's come off far worse.
It's Palermo back with the possession now. But a deep cross from Munoz is cleared by Lucio.
Pazzini, with his back to goal on the halfway line, is completely taken out by Silvestre. Poor challenge. No card though.
Inter on the attack again. This time, Maicon whips in a great ball from the right, but Viviano comes and collects rather easily.
GOOOOAAALLLL INTER. And it's a typical Milito finish. A cross from the right is nodded down by Pazzini, who finds the Argentine. And the former Genoa man just caresses the ball past Viviano into the far bottom-hand corner. 1-1.
Inter are having a prolonged period of possession now. And just as I say that.....Palermo intercept a loose pass and go on the counter.
Palermo's third away goal of the season. And it's a goal that has been fully deserved.
GOOOOAAAAALLLLL PALERMO. And it's Mantovani with the goal! A corner from Miccoli from the left goes all the way through to the far post, and Mantovani is there for an easy tap-in.
Maicon goes on a run down the right, but is intercepted by Balzaretti midway in the Palermo half. The Rosanero then go on the counter, but Budan is adjudged to be offside.
Palermo have started really well here. For a side who haven't won away from home all season, they certainly are going for it here.
Balzaretti, who for my money is one of the best full-backs in Italy, goes on a great run down the left, and puts in a cross that's blocked by Maicon for a corner. The corner's rubbish.
A shot from Cambiasso is blocked on the edge of the area, and with that, Palermo go on the counter-attack. Budan, over the halfway line, finds Miccoli, and the veteran with two touches, has a long-range shot which Cesar saves easily.
A flick from Sneijder on the halfway line is pounced upon by Poli, and the youngster goes on a surging run into the penalty area. He's then tripped inside the box by Mantovani, but the referee waves play on.
I don't know if I've mentioned, but it's snowing a hell of a lot here tonight. The centre of the pitch os covered with the stuff. And to be honest, I'm surprised this is even on.
Budan runs with the ball from deep, and finds Miccoli on the left-hand flank, just past the halfway line. He then tries to take on Ranocchia, but the youngster stands tall, and nicks the ball off the forward.
The first corner of the night for Inter. But it's caught easily by Viviano.
Pazzini gets the ball by the left-hand corner flag, and puts in a brilliant cross for Sneijder to run on to. His header, for a man of his stature, is really quite good, but in the end, not good enough, and goes wide of the post.
From kick off, a long ball from Munoz, goes to the feet of Budan, but his touch is poor, and Inter have there first touches of the ball already.
Here we go then. Palermo get us underway, kicking from left-to-right.
Oh, here they are.
The teams are yet to appear, for, as yet, reasons unknown.
Under ten minutes to go until kick off here in Milan. And the atmosphere is bubbling under nicely.
Palermo: (4-4-2) Viviano; Munoz, Silvestre, Mantovani, Balzaretti; Bertolo, Donati, Barreto, Zahavi; Budan, Miccoli.
The line-ups have just been handed to me, and if you're an Inter fan, they make for interesting reading. Inter: (4-3-1-2) Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Ranocchia, Nagatomo; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Poli; Sneijder; Milito, Pazzini.
I assume we all remember the game these two played on the very first day of the season? If not, Palermo won 4-3. And it was really quite entertaining.
As always, if you have any thoughts on tonight's game, predictions or feel the need to send me abuse of any sort, then please do so @alexjmott.
Bortolo Mutti's men (it is still Mutti, isn't it?) are yet to win away from home this season, and have only scored two goals in the process. TWO! Inter, on the other hand, were on a run of seven matches unbeaten before last weekend's horror show against Lecce, but will more than fancy their chances tonight.
Evening all. Now that the transfer window's gone and shut, can we all agree never to talk of it again? Good. I'm Alex Mott, and I'll be your commentator tonight for Inter Milan vs Palermo. It's live from the San Siro, and it's absolutely ruddy freezing.
