A missed Diego Milito penalty in the first half has meant that Inter Milan have drawn with Atalanta for the second time this season. I've been Alex Mott, thanks for joining me.
90' + 5'
And that's it! The referee blows for full time, and the score here at San Siro is Inter Milan 0-0 Atalanta.
90' + 2'
Another chance for Atalanta, as Cigarini fires just over from 20yds.
AHHH. Almost a goal for Atalanta at the death! The Bergamese side broke quickly down the right, with Schelotto putting in a great ball for Gabbiadini inside the area. Unfortunately though, the substitute striker couldn't quite reach far enough to just poke the ball into the back of the net.
Maicon wins a free kick for Inter, and takes it himself on the halfway line. He chips it into the box, towards Samuel, and the big Argentine heads it from the left, back across goal. It finds Pazzini, but the Italian striker's volley is blocked by Stendardo, and Atalanta clear.
Yellow Card Carlos Carmona
Yellow Card Walter Samuel
Atalanta look to have found some momentum now. Schelotto puts in a cross from the right towards Gabbiadini. The substitute can't quite get to the ball though, and instead it falls to the other sub, Ferreira Pinto. He takes a touch, and fires a shot at Julio Cesar. The Brazilian keeper gets down well though, and saves quite comfortably in the end.
Gabbiadini gets played through again, but as he turns Nagatomo and enters the box, the referee pulls him up for a push on the Japanese full back.
PENALTY!! NO!! Gabbiadini skipped past Lucio inside the area, and looked to have gone down after the Brazilian tripped him. The referee though, waves play on.
Adriano Ferreira Pinto
Raimondi has the ball now for Atalanta. He brings the ball over the halfway line, and puts in a deep cross towards Gabbiadini. The substitute gets his head to the ball, but he can't direct his header on target, and Julio Cesar sees it over.
Yellow Card Maximiliano Moralez
Zarate takes it again. And it hits the wall. Again.
Carmona puts his foot up too high, nearly kicking Faraoni in the face, and concedes a free kick 25yds from his own goal. Zarate takes it, and it hits the wall, but the referee orders it to be retaken, after Maoralez left the wall to early.
This game has entered a bit of a lull now. Both sides are looking to play long, hopeful balls up to their respective front men. And it just isn't working.
Zarate has the ball now on the left-hand side. He comes forward towards the edge of the area and draws a foul from Raimondi. For about the third time today though, the referee waves play on, much to the astonishment of the Inter players and fans.
Inter win a free kick 30yds from goal. Cambiasso puts a cross in with his left foot which finds the head of Lucio. Unfortunately for Inter though, he can't direct his header at goal.
Up the other end, and Inter have a great chance. Zanetti runs like he's 18, not 38, past three Atalanta defenders, over the halfway line, and on to the edge of the area. He looks up, and sees the substitute Zarate free on the left-hand side of the box. He plays it to him, but the Argentine's shot is deflected, and Atalanta escape.
WHAT A SAVE!! A cross from the left found the head of the Atalanta substitute Gabbiadini, but his flicked header is superbly tipped away by Julio Cesar.
Yellow Card Lúcio
Zanetti surges forward down the right-hand side, but he's brought down by Bellini. Again though, the referee waves play on, and Atalanta break. On the halfway line, Carrozza turns to attack, but Lucio is in the mood for revenge, and completely hacks down the man on loan from Varese, and a free kick is given.
Right up the other end, and it's a corner to Atalanta. Moralez whips it in from the right, and finds the head of Manfredini, but the Italian defender can't direct his header at goal.
A great move by Inter there, culminates in Poli striking at goal from 20yds. It was a brilliantly clean effort, but the shot was at a good height for Consigli, and he pushed it out to his right.
OHH. That looked like a great chance for Inter. A ball was played into Pazzini inside the area, but before the Italian striker could turn and shoot, the referee blew for a foul after he controlled it with his hand.
Marilungo's gone down after a challenge from Lucio. And it doesn't look good. At all.
Cambiasso comes surging forward, but he's tripped by Manfredini on the edge of the area. The referee though, waves play on, much to the disbelief of all the Inter players.
Up the other end, and Atalanta have won a corner. It's played short, and put in by Moralez. It's aimed towards the far post, but the ball's a tad too long for Manfredini, and it goes out for a goal kick to Inter.
Inter move the ball upfield very quickly, but Diego Milito on the right-hand side of the area is bundled over. No free kick is given though.
We're back. And it's Inter who will get us underway, kicking from left-to-right.
A missed penalty by Diego Milito has meant the scores are level here in Milan as we go into the break. I'll be back in 15 minutes for the second half, but in the meantime, as always, if you have any comments/questions etc on today's game, do get in touch. @alexjmott on Twitter is where I live.
That's it. Half time. And the first half finishes here at San Siro Inter Milan 0-0 Atalanta.
A great chance for Pazzini! Milito gets the ball on the edge of the area, turns, passes to the former Samp striker on the right-hand side of the box, but the Italian's shot across goal is saved well by Consigli.
Samuel plays a hopeful ball upfield, but Pazzini makes the most of it. He chests it down, takes it past two Atalanta defenders, and before he can get his shot away in the box, Ferri comes across and blocks his attempt.
Obi and Nagatomo exchange passes down the left, with the Japanese full back putting in a decent ball from just near the byline. It's just over the head of Pazzini however, and Atalanta clear the danger.
Maicon, who's been at the heart of everything Inter have done well this afternoon, puts in a great ball from the right, but Pazzini's header inside the area is a poor one, and Consigli collects.
Moralez has the ball for Atalanta now. He uses his pace to get past Zanetti, and then chips the ball over the head of Maicon to find Marilungo. The forward takes a couple of touches, enters the box, but has hic cross blocked by Samuel.
Yellow Card Luca Cigarini
Obi has the ball now on the left-hand side, just over the halfway line. He comes forward, cuts inside, and draws a foul from Cigarini to win a free kick for his side. Cambiasso whips it in with his left foot, but Manfredini raises highest and clears with a header.
It's Atalanta coming forward now. Carrozza on the right-hand flank gets a cross in from the byline, but Julio Cesar reads it well, and catches with ease.
Inter are really trying to turn the screw now. They come forward with Obi, who plays it inside to Milito. The Argentine looks like he should shoot from just outside the area, but he opts to play it out wide on the right to Zanetti, who puts a cross in, but Consigli comes out and collects well. That is a great opportunity wasted from Inter there.
And from the resulting corner, Samuel gets his head to the ball from eight yards out, but Consigli, again, makes a great save.
Penalty save Andrea Consigli
Missed Penalty Diego Milito
AND IT'S SAVED!!!! Diego Milito stepped up and struck it low towards the bottom right-hand corner, only for Consigli to get down well and tip it around the post.
Yellow Card Gianpaolo Bellini
PENALTY INTER!!!! A cross from the left by Obi goes straight into the arms of Consigli the goalkeeper, but in the midst of that, Pazzini goes down inside the area, and the referee points to the spot.
The referee blows for a free kick to Inter, after Carmona came in from behind on Pazzini. Maicon takes it from just outside the area, but it goes straight into the wall, and Atalanta break.
And right up the other end, Maicon is again involved in the action. A free kick to Inter is headed out, but only as far as Maicon on the left-hand byline, and the Brazilian overhead kicks it first time back into the box. Unfortunately though, the referee blows his whistle for a free kick to Atalanta, after Pazzini pushes Manfredini in the box.
A stunning through ball from Carmona looks for the run of Marilungo. Unfortunately for Atalanta though, he's being tracked by Maico all the way, and the Brazilian uses all his experience to just come away with the ball, before the former Sampdoria striker can get in a shot.
A long ball from Lucio finds Milito running just inside the Atalanta right-back. He lets the ball come over his shoulder, and then fires a cross first time into the box. Again though, it's a poor one, and Atalanta clear away the ball.
Obi shows some great close control there to get past two Atalanta defenders on the left-hand flank. He then passes to Nagatomo just inside, but the Japanese international is tackled by Manfredini and Atalanta come away with the ball.
Zanetti does incredibly well there to beat Raimondi down the right flank and whip a ball in from the byline. Unfortunately, the ball back to the penalty spot is just over Pazzini's head, and Atalanta clear.
It's Maicon now for Inter. He brings the ball up past the halfway line, and puts in a deep cross. The ball is too long for both Pazzini and Milito though, and Bellini sees it out for a goal kick.
Samuel plays a hopeful ball upfield, and tries to find the head of Milito. Manfredini is shadowing him all the way though, and gets up above the Argentine to head away the danger.
First shot of the game goes to Inter, and it's Cambiasso with the effort. The Argentine receives the ball 25yds from goal, takes a touch, and fires it low towards the bottom right-hand corner. It's not the best of efforts though, and Consigli in goal sees it wide.
It's Moralez now, on the left-hand side for Atalanta. He takes it up to the edge of the area, and puts a ball in for Marilungo. It's not a great ball though, and Obi, who's back to cover at the far post, volleys clear.
The ball's played long immediately from kick off by Cigarini, but it's too long for Marilungo up front, and it runs into the arms of Julio Cesar.
Here we go then. Atalanta get us underway, kicking from left-to-right.
The teams have left the tunnel, and are lining up for the handshakes. Kick off is literally moments away.
And don't forget, I'm @alexjmott on Twitter if you have any questions/predictions/thoughts on today's game.
There's just over 10 minutes to go here at San Siro until kick off, and the atmosphere is building nicely.
Atalanta (4-4-2): Consigli; Raimondi, Ferri, Manfredini, Bellini; Schelotto, Cigarini, Carmona, Moralez; Carrozza, Marilungo.
Inter (4-4-2): Julio Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Nagatomo; Zanetti, Poli, Cambiasso, Obi; Milito, Pazzini.
TEAM NEWS: the line-ups have been announced, and they make very interesting reading for both sides. Ranieri has gone back to the tried-and-tested 4-4-2 which served him so well before Christmas. And as for Stefano Colantuono, he's without top-scorer German Denis.
Atalanta though, are unbeaten in their last six games, only conceding two goals in that period. The reverse fixture earlier on in the season saw the Bergamese side draw 1-1 with Inter, after German Denis cancelled out a deflected Wesley Sneijder strike.
Claudio Ranieri's side ended their recent winless run last weekend with a 2-0 away win at Chievo, and will be looking to continue that momentum here today with a win over Atalanta. The omens for the Nerazzurri look good going into today's game: they have won their last six games over the Orobici at San Siro, they have scored in each of their last 27 games matches against Atalanta, and Stefano Colantuono's side have only won one of the last 13 top-flight tussles with their Milanese rivals.
Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE, play-by-play coverage, of today's Serie A encounter between Inter Milan and Atalanta.
