Thank you for joining me for tonight's match and remember to stick with Goal.com for all the post-match news and analysis, including match report and player ratings. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to take you through this evening's game.
That is it! It finishes Hungary 1-4 Netherlands in Budapest with Lens netting twice and adding an assist for Huntelaar's strike. A well-deserved victory for the Dutch who join Romania at the top of World Cup 2014 qualifying Group D with two wins from two games.
90' + 4'
It almost finds Maher at the back post but the cross is just out of his reach and the referee blows for full time.
90' + 3'
A final chance for the Dutch to find a fifth as Narsingh is fouled on the right side. Sneijder will whip this one in...
90' + 1'
Into the first of three added minutes. Huntelaar springs the offside trap but looks far too casual as he saunters into the box and hits his shot into the side netting.
A corner for the hosts is headed wide by Juhasz and a goal kick is awarded. Netherlands' defence have coped well from set pieces despite being relatively inexperienced.
Hajnal is picked out in space on the left and although he has time to find a team-mate in the box, he opts to plump for goal. His shot goes way over the bar and never looked like troubling the keeper. A real waste.
Yellow Card Adam Maher
Hungary are getting more men behind the ball now as they look to shut the Dutch out for the remainder of the game. They are doing well to close the space but Oranje are obviously lacking the urgency they had from the earlier stages.
Narsingh slips a pass forward to Huntelaar who finds space in the right-hand channel. Liptak comes across to provide cover though and stays with the striker before making a great sliding tackle to block his effort from hitting the target.
Tonight looks set to be Netherlands 10th win in consecutive World Cup qualification games. Their last loss came back in September 2001, when Ireland proved to be too strong for them. Not a bad record, and a brilliant way to start on the road to Brazil.
Superb play from Dzsudzsak as he darts into the most narrow of spaces to the left of the area before cutting a square ball right across the danger area. There are not enough red shirts in the box though and his cross is allowed to float all the way through.
Hungary have got to be disappointed with this. They have not perhaps been as bad as the scoreline suggests, but Netherlands have been as good. Lens has been awesome all night while Narsingh has also impressed on the other flank. They fully deserve the win.
Assist Jeremain Lens
Goal Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
GOOOOOAAALLL!! Ingenious play from Oranje! Sneijder plays a quick free kick which catches the hosts' defence completely idle. Lens receives it and lays it across the goal for Huntelaar to tap into the net. Smart goal.
And as I say that they break forward through Dzsudzsak and the winger threads a ball through for Priskin to run onto. However, he puts a little bit too much power on it and Stekelenburg beats the striker to it.
Netherlands have just started slowing the pace of the game down again. They are keeping the ball at the back and when they move it forward, Hungary are too eager to win it and end up conceding a free kick.
Hungary have given away far too many free kicks around their penalty area this evening but fortunately the Dutch have failed to capitalise on most of them as Sneijder belts another straight into the wall.
Hajnal has been very bright since coming on and he does well to work some space on the right before clipping in a cross. Priskin is nowhere to be seen though and Stekelenburg is happy to let it run out of play.
Well timed by Bogdan! Netherlands break at pace down the left and Lens looks to have put it on a plate for Narsingh but the keeper dives at the wingers feet and smothers the ball. Brave goalkeeping.
Bruno Martins Indi
OFF THE BAR!!! A cracking effort from Sneijder has Bogdan beaten all ends up but it comes crashing of the bar with a thunderous crack. He was so close to putting Van Gaal's men three goals up.
Tonight's other Group D fixtures have both come to an end. Romania scored two late goals to beat Andorra by the more convincing scoreline of 4-0 while Turkey beat Estonia 3-0 at home. As it stands, the Dutch will join Romania on top of the group.
Just over the bar! A good spell of pressure for the hosts here. A corner into the box is headed away but it falls to Hajnal on the edge of the area. He lashes a volley straight at goal but it does not have enough dip to trouble the keeper and crashes into the roof of the net.
WHAT A CHANCE!! A beautifully disguised pass from Varga finds Vanczak at the top of the box and he slides it across to Priskin. The forward takes a touch and tries to dink the ball over Stekelenburg but the keeper stays big and bats it away.
Lens is indomitable down the left tonight. He skips between two players and burns past Elek who resorts to dragging him to the floor. However, no free kick is given and the winger is left miffed.
That goal will be a serious blow to Hungary's hopes of getting back into this match. Oranje have dominated the ball all night and the hosts will have to up their game from set plays.
Goal Jeremain Lens
GOOOOOOAAAALL!! What an awful moment for Elek! The left-back tries to intercept Sneijder's pass from deep but ends up heading straight to Lens. Unmarked on the edge of the area he stays composed and places the ball into the bottom corner.
Hungary are really struggling to cope with Lens and Narsingh in the wide areas but the Dutch are not getting into their feet enough. When they do, either a free kick is won or the ball is put into the box. The PSV man earns one but Sneijder's delivery only finds Bogdan.
Excellent play from Narsingh on the right again as he passes Elek like he is not even there. He then stands the ball up at the back post but no one attacks it, though it is only cleared as far as Clasie. He manages to bring it down but his shot is deflected over the bar.
Straight away Van Rhijn tries to pick out Huntelaar in the area but his ball from the right is well over-hit and it drifts out of play at the far post.
Robin van Persie
The second half in Budapest has begun!
The teams are on their way out and it looks as though Hajnal is coming for Hungary in place of Koman. Meanwhile, Huntelaar is on for Netherlands with Van Persie going off.
Welcome back! The second half is just a few moments away. Can Van Gaal's men hang on to, or even enhance, their lead? Or will Hungary find a way back into the game in front of their raucous crowd?
The visitors certainly deserve their lead but Hungary have been looking dangerous at times. Join me in 15 minutes for the second half as we see whether one of these sides can maintain their 100 per cent record from the first set of qualifiers.
The half-time whistle goes and Netherlands lead Hungary 2-1 in Budapest. Lens handed Oranje an early lead but Dzsudzsak leveled from the spot soon after following a clumsy challenge by Clasie on Gera. However, Van Gaal's men remained on top and scored their second of the night through Martins Indi midway through the half.
45' + 1'
Into the only minute of stoppage time and the hosts are angry not to have been awarded their second penalty. It looked as though Clasie controlled the ball with his hand in the area but, once more, the referee was unmoved.
A potentially great chance for Hungary as they get a free kick on the left, 35 yards from goal. Dzsudzsak steps up for it but tries to bend one in at the near post rather than cross the ball. Stekelenburg reads his intentions though and gets across with more than enough time to make a comfortable save.
Claims for another penalty for Hungary as Dzsudzsak loops the ball over Willems and picks it up the other side. With the left-back pushing into his back he tries to spin and pass the ball but goes down. The referee is not buying it though and tells him to get up.
The home fans are whistling now as Netherlands hold onto the ball deep in their own half. With minimal pressing that high up the pitch they could hold onto it until the break!
Priskin finally gets a chance to turn and run on the ball but he is tracked all the way out to the left by Martins Indi. Hungary win the throw but hand it straight bak to the visitors who counter at pace. It ends with Van Persie trying to do a bit too much at the top of the box and after being swarmed upon by defenders, his deflected shot is volleyed over by Sneijder.
Yellow Card Balázs Dzsudzsák
More needlessly idiotic play from Hungary. Juhasz again gives away a cheap free kick for going through the back of Narsingh and then Dzsudzsak gets a booking for kicking the ball away. Foolish.
Dzsudzsak shows that Netherlands are not the only ones with bright wingers on the field as he burst into the area from the left. However, he runs straight into a Vlaar-shaped wall and the Aston Villa man boots the ball away from danger.
Varga has been very strong in the challenge for Hungary so far but his distribution has failed to impress. He gives the ball away in his own half again but fortunately for him Oranje fail to make anything of it.
Van Persie drops deep to pick up the ball and holds of his marker before sending the ball forward. He picks out Lens on the edge of the box and the winger tries to volley it at goal with a first-time effort. He completely misjudges it and ends up making a bit of a fool of himself, kicking it back in the direction it came.
A silly challenge from Juhasz earns him a booking as he goes through the back of Van Persie. Sneijder takes the free kick from a central position, 30 yards from goal, and blazes it well over the bar.
Yellow Card Roland Juhasz
More top stuff in the wide areas from the Dutch, but this time it is Narsingh providing the moment of class. He wriggles away from Elek and clips in a cross. Van Persie is waiting for it to reach him after peeling off of Liptak but the defender makes an acrobatic clearance.
A hopeful attempt from Van Persie as he gets his head on a looped through-ball from deep. The effort is clearly going wide but Bogdan wants to be sure and dives across to bring the ball in anyway.
Great play from Lens! He is proving to be a real handful as he darts away from Koman before cutting inside Vanczak. Options in the centre are limited so he goes for goal but puts his effort straight down the middle.
Clasie tries to catch Bogdan out with a powerful effort from around 40 yards out. It looks to be a relatively routine stop for the keeper but he spills the ball off to his side. Fortunately for him no one is following the ball in and he gathers at the second attempt.
Netherlands certainly deserve to be ahead in this one and so far their youthful defence has given a good account of themselves. Hungary do look dangerous though and it could take just one minor slip up to see the scores leveled again.
Hungary respond well to going behind once more and push forward to win a corner. It is swung in by Dzsudzsak but it is cleared away by the Dutch defence and though they fail to get it back in the area, they do win another corner.
Assist Wesley Sneijder
Goal Bruno Martins Indi
GOOOOAAALLL!! Martins Indi scores! Sneijder shows Dzsudzsak how it is done with a sweet delivery from wide on the left that finds the defender in the area. He is totally unmarked in the centre of the box and simply glances the ball into the corner with his head.
Yellow Card Zsolt Korcsmar
Lens finally gets a chance to get on the ball and run down the left flank. He skins Varga easily and gets the ball into the middle. However, there are no players gambling on a near post run and Bogdan dives out to gather the ball.
Poor delivery from Dzsudzsak as Hungary get men forward to try and threaten from a dead ball but he fails to clear the first man. The hosts are just trying to slow the game down a bit now as they risk letting this one get away from them. The crowd in terrific voice though.
Netherlands are controlling the ball here but Hungary are remaining tight and compact at the back, limiting the space for the visitors to get through the middle. The key to this one could well be getting Narsingh and Lens on the ball in the wide areas.
Oranje get another chance from a set piece which is floated in deep towards the back post. Van Persie is waiting but he cannot get in front of Liptak and he fouls the centre-back in the process. Van Gaal's men certainly on top of this one with the game only level due to a clumsy Clasie challenge.
Netherlands win a free kick 25 yards from the Hungary goal in a central position and Sneijder and Van Persie stand over it. It is the Inter man who takes the shot but he hits it straight into the wall. A disappointing attempt and I doubt Van Persie will hand the next one over so willingly.
Penalty Goal Balázs Dzsudzsák
GOOOOOOAAALLL!! Dzsudzsak tucks away the penalty with no fuss, slotting it down in the bottom corner to Stekelenburg's right. He was not getting down to that one.
Yellow Card Jordy Clasie
Penalty to Hungary! Electrifying start to this one. Clasie brings down Gera inside the area and the hosts have a chance to level the game immediately.
Assist Luciano Narsingh
Goal Jeremain Lens
GOOOOAAALLL!! It could not have been any better for Louis van Gaal's men. Narsingh plays a one-two wide on the right and sends in a lofted cross to the penalty spot. Lens outmuscles his marker and wins the header, nodding it past Bogdan and into the corner.
Great start for the Oranje as he dribbles through the middle of the defence but before he can pull the trigger he is shepherded off the ball and Bogdan manages to come and collect.
We are underway in Budapest! Netherlands in their alternate black kit with the hosts, Hungary, wearing their traditional red, white and green uniform.
This will be a big night for Ron Vlaar at the centre of defence tonight. Alongside Van Rhijn, Martins Indi and Willems he is surrounded by inexperience at this stage.
One note before kick off, Arjen Robben has pulled out of the match with a groin injury and so Jeremain Lens comes in in his stead. The Hungarian defence will certainly breath a sigh of relief at that, but Lens still possesses enough raw pace to trouble any side on his night.
The teams are out and kick off is just a few short minutes away. After just one game, these two sides are the top pair in Group D. Hungary got their campaign off to the perfect start with a 5-0 thumping of Andorra while Netherlands laboured to a 1-0 win at home to Turkey.
Netherlands (4-3-3): Stekelenburg; Van Rhijn, Vlaar, Martins Indi, Willems; Strootman, Clasie, Sneijder; Narsingh, Van Persie, Lens.
Hungary (4-2-3-1): Bogdan; Vanczak, Juhasz, Liptak, Elek; Varga, Korcsmar; Gera, Koman, Dzsudzsak; Priskin.
Hungary and Netherlands have met 15 times before, with the Hungarians recording five victories over tonight's opponents. Oranje came out victorious on eight occasions, with the remaining two games ending all square. Full team news on the way.
