Thank you for joining us here at Goal.com and make sure you stick with us for all the post-match news and analysis, including match report and player ratings. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to guide you through tonight's action.
What a display from Bayern Munich! Three goals either side of the half mean that Bayern keep the gap at the top of the league at five points. They really hitting a rich vein of form at the right time. Hertha meanwhile will be in the relegation zone for the night and need a drastic change in fortunes to escape potentially dropping down a division.
The referee blows for full time!
Bayern's front four have been imperious tonight and shown that they are arguably one of the most attractive attacking sides. If they keep this form up then they have every chance of catching Dortmund at the summit of the Bundesliga.
Bayern are just holding onto the ball now and not letting Hertha get anywhere near it. This will be a totally demoralising blow for Otto Rehhagel's men who look set for a real relegation scrap.
In a rare attack from Hertha Lell gets forward down the left flank and puts the ball into the box. Alaba reads it and clears the ball away before it can reach Lasogga who was lurking at the back post.
GREAT SAVE!! A delightful scooped pass from Kroos puts Gomez through on goal but again his touch lets him down. He runs the ball to close to Burchert who makes a great save to deny the striker his second goal of the night.
Kroos and Gomez combine again as they look to break into the Hertha box. The striker finds some space but he lets the ball get away from him and loses out to the defender.
Kroos looks for a give-and-go with Gomez on the edge of the area. The midfielder darts into acres of space but Gomez's return pass is dreadful and fails to reach his team-mate.
The game has hit a bit of a lull but no doubt Bayern will want to grab another goal. All the noise in the ground is coming from the raucous away fans who are loving their night in the capital. They have been a bit spoiled of late with all these goals. Will their side treat them to another and make it 21 goals in their last three games?
Ribery becomes the next player to leave the field to a great reception from the Bayern fans. He was superb today, absolutely ruthless and played a crucial part in so many of the Bayern goals.
It looked like Ribery was seriously hurt after the foul from Morales that won the penalty but he is back on the pitch and continuing to play. Meanwhile Robben leaves the field after securing his hat-trick to a rapturous applause from the away fans.
Penalty GoalArjen Robben
HAT-TRICK FOR ROBBEN!! He buries it from the spot, sending the ball high to Burchert's right. It has been a nightmare half for Morales who brought down Ribery for the game's third penalty, two of which he has conceded!
Yellow CardAlfredo Morales
Yellow CardRoman Hubnik
A really nasty challenge from Hubnik earns him a yellow card. He launched himself at Kroos close to the halfway line when there was really no need. Fortunately the midfielder is not seriously injured and can continue.
That is more like it! A short pass through the middle of the park almost sends Ramos through on goal but his first touch is not the best and the defenders recover to clear the ball.
Yellow CardJerome Boateng
Boateng's touch deserts him and allows Ramos to steal in poke the ball away. The former Manchester City defender pulls him to the floor to avoid gifting him a chance on goal and earns a booking.
Hertha are just lumping long balls forward now and they really do not look threatening. They will have to step it up if they want to find the back of the net today.
Some more fluid football down the right from Bayern as they get into the box with ease. No one manages to get a shot off at Burchert though and the opportunity is lost.
Great combination play from Lahm and Gomez as the striker works space in the box. He tries to get a shot away but the defenders do well to recover and manage to block his effort. Things certainly are not going to get easier for Hertha.
A long ball over the top finds Rukavytsya in behind the defence but play is stopped as the Australian appeared to be in an offside position.
During the break @Snuwperman told me via twitter he has hoping for a five-goal or more win. They have their wish! Bayern are really hitting form ahead of the Bundesliga and Champions League run-in.
That is definitely not what Otto Rehhagel would have had in mind for the second half! After making two defensive substitutions he sees his side concede two in quick succession. Another seven-goal demolition could be on the way!
IT IS FIVE!! KROOS SCORES! Robben finds acres of space on the left and carries the ball into the box. He has four in support but takes too long and his pass is deflected at goal and Burchert reacts well to claw the ball away, only for Kroos to fire in the from inside the box.
Penalty GoalM. Gómez
PENALTY!! GOOOOOOMEZ!! Ribery's quick feet fool substitute Morales and he pulls the winger down. Gomez steps up and confidently converts the penalty. Not the start they would have wanted.
Bayern have monopolised the ball in the early stages and look set to continue their patient, passing game this half. Hertha will probably be hoping for an improved second-half display to take something positive from the game.
Bayern are straight on the attack with Muller pushing down the right. He cuts the ball back for Ribery who tries to flick the ball behind his standing leg but Janker puts a good block in.
The second half is underway at Olimpiastadion. Will Bayern add to their tally or can Hertha somehow rescue a point?
A great first half from Bayern were they have been totally dominant. Hertha have not been without chances though and have gone close on a couple of occasions. Send me your thoughts via Twitter during the half-time break and I'll be back in 15 minutes. Make sure you are too!
45' + 1'
Only a few seconds of stoppage time is played at the end of the half and the teams go in for the break.
The hosts have had a decent spell at the end of the half here. They have strung a few passes together and are actively attacking Bayern. Ramos tries to slip a ball through for Rukavytsya but it is intercepted. Great movement there.
Hertha have not been without chances to pull a goal back in this game. Ramos goes for the acrobatic with an overhead kick as the ball drops down to him in the area. His connection is poor and allows Alaba to clear the ball away.
The pitch does not look in great shape today. A lot of players losing their footing with clumps of turf being churned up. It does no affect Lahm though as he surges down the right and puts the ball in the box. Gomez fails to make a connection and it comes back out to the full-back. He puts another cross in and Muller heads it just wide.
RAMOS!! He almost pulls one back. He has performed well in the air so far and sends another header on goal. It takes a deflection off of Badstuber and looks to be creeping in by the post but Kroos, standing guard on the line, clears the ball away.
GOMEZ GOES CLOSE!! The Germany international gets on the end of Robben's beautifully delivered free kick but does not make a decent enough connection to turn it onto Kraft's goal.
Bayern are continuing to dominate here but have eased off a bit since the third goal. Perhaps the break will breathe some new life into them.
Hertha looked to have stemmed the flow for now. If they can make it to half time without conceding another goal then they may be able to take something positive from the game, though any points look out of the question.
Great challenge by Alaba to deny Ramos a shot on goal inside the area. He got back well and hooked the ball of the forwards feet. The crowd are appealing for a penalty but it looked to be an excellent challenge.
Robben again almost breaks through the defensive line but his first touch is far too heavy. He tried to take it on his left when he may have been better placed to take it on the other foot.
Alaba pushes forward from left-back and threads a lovely ball up to Gomez. It looked like he was in line with Janker but is adjudged to be offside by the referee's assistant. A lucky break for the hosts there.
A shocking challenge from Raffael earns the Brazilian a yellow card though it could have been worse. Ribery fires the resultant free kick straight into the wall from a dangerous area.
RAMOS!!! SO CLOSE!! The Colombian manages to find space between the centre-backs and gets up to head the ball. He diverts it goalwards but it goes the wrong side of the post, not testing Neuer.
That could have been his third! Ribery storms down the left and passes to Muller at the top of the box. He shifts it on to Robben who looks to bend his shot back across goal and into the top corner but it flies over that bar. They look like they are going to score with almost every attack!
Penalty GoalArjen Robben
GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!! ROBBEN AGAIN!! Great penalty from the former Chelsea man. He loses his footing but manages to steer the ball in, sending Kraft the wrong way. What a start!
Penalty to Bayern! Muller is brought down as he slips between Lell and Janker.
Bayern have scored seven goals in both of their last two games and after their start today you would not bet against them doing the same today! Hertha will have to make the most of any chances they get unlike Raffael's effort moments ago.
A chance for Hertha! Badstuber's slip allows Raffael the opportunity to get a shot on goal. He fails to hit the target though as Badstuber does well to recover and just did enough to put the Hertha player off.
GOOOOOAAAALLLL!! ROBBEN!! Muller slips the ball to the Dutchman on the halfway line and he charges at goal. He has support in Gomez but opts to go it alone and thumps in an emphatic finish at Kraft's near post. What a start for Bayern.
How unlucky for the hosts. It has been a frantic start and they will feel a bit aggrieved by that goal due to the penalty claim before. It could well have been given.
GOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!! Ribery again down the left hand side is the source of the danger. He drives to the byeline and cuts it back once more but this time he finds Muller alone in the area. He turns the ball on goal with an unconvincing effort but it manages to bobble in off the post.
Penalty claim for the hosts! Rukavytsya gets in behind and beats Alaba to the ball. The defender drags him down but the Australian falls theatrically and is probably the reason that the referee opted to not give it.
The visitors playing some really crisp passes here. They work it forward to Muller and the young forward tries to wriggle away from a number of bodies but the Hertha defenders do well to cope with the pressure.
Great ball in by Ribery as he cuts in from the left but Janker gets his head on it to knock it behind. From the corner the ball drops to Gomez and he tries to shift his body position and poke it at goal but he fails to hit the target. They won't want to keep giving him chances like that this evening.
Bayern are playing very patient football at the moment. A series of passes along the back as they look for an opening in the very deep Hertha defence. Luiz Gustavo tries to stab a ball through but it does not come off and possession is recycled.
Ribery really is playing at his best at the moment. He shows his danger almost immediately with a dart to the byeline down the left wing. He cuts the ball back but it is cleared away for a corner, which comes to nothing.
We are underway at a packed Olympiastadion! Over 73000 fans in attendance.
Kick off is just moments away. As always you can get involved with the action via Twitter. Send your thoughts and predictions too me @thwebber.
In stark contrast, Mario Gomez at Bayern Munich will make his 250th appearance in German league football this afternoon. In 206 Bundesliga he has accumulated a total of 122 goals. One more goal today would be his 175th strike in all club competitions. Not bad.
The hosts poor form is exemplified in the fact that no player has managed to score more than a single goal since the start of December 2011. Lassoga, Rukavytsya, Hubnik and Ramos all have one goal each.
Hertha are a side in poor form and will want to turn that around today. They have just a single victory from their last 14 Bundesliga matches and the points are even more crucial today following Freiburg's 3-1 win at HSV earlier today. A win would see them out of the relegation zone, joint with Augsburg in 15th.
And now for the visitors, Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Luiz Gustavo, Kroos; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Gomez. Substitutes: Butt, Rafinha, Contento, Pranjic, Tymoshchuk, Usami, Petersen.
Now for the team news, starting with the hosts. Hertha Berlin (4-3-2-1): Kraft; Lell, Janker, Hubnik, Bastians; Perdedaj, Niemeyer, Ottl; Raffael, Rukavytsya; Ramos. Substitutes: Burchert, Neumann, Ben-Hatira, Morales, Torun, Lasogga, Holland.
Bayern do not boast the best of records in Berlin and are looking to secure back-to-back victories at the Olympiastadion for the first time since the 1969/70 season! It will be no easy task for the visitors who have suffered on the road as of late and are winless in their last four away games in the league.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE text commentary on today's Bundesliga clash between Hertha Berlin and Bayern Munich. My name is Tom Webber and I will be guiding you through all the action. The visitors will be hoping for a win at the Olympiastadion as Borussia Dortmund's triumph over Werder Bremen earlier today widened the gap at the top to eight points.
