Commanded his penalty area from the first minute but was given the slip twice by Adrian for the first goal. He could do nothing about the second and was rarely tested at any other points in the game.
Similarly to Pogatetz he began far better but slipped away later on. Unlike his defensive partner, he was beaten in the air far too easily as Hannover's defence ultimately cost them the game.
Provided cover for Pander when he surged forward from left-back but despite seeing a lot of the ball, he offered very little creativity.
Helped to keep Diego quiet to good effect and aided his defence as much as he could. However, the Brazilian eventually found the space to play a part in both goals that provided the win.
Combined well with Rausch down the left and providing the majority of crosses into the box. He had ample opportunities to provide the telling ball and it only came in the 81st minute as his corner eventually fell to Diouf.
What started out as a much-improved performance compared to the first leg ended badly. Won almost all his aerial battles but was muscled off the ball by Adrian far too easily on the opening goal. He then offered Falcao too much space for the second.
Limited the effectiveness of Filipe in the first half and was more reserved than Pander in going forward. He failed to keep it up though as his defence lacked organisation, which is the responsibilty of the captain.
The Portuguese is a real midfield terrier. A combative display as he kept a close eye on Diego in what proved to be a highly physical midfield battle. Broke up the play with some debatable challenges but was eventually overrun by Atletico.
D. Ya Konan
Was very strong on the ball as he held up play for his team-mates but lacked the instinct to really test Miranda or Godin. His only attempt came in the first half and it was a horrible effort.
Seemed hungry from the off and showed great movement to find the space. Was not put off by some very physical defending and was rewarded when he scored a late volley. Unfortunately the revival was short-lived as Falcao put the visitors back in front soon after.
Made a few nice touches and some quality passes as his team-mates attempted to involve him as much as possible. Yet despite all this focus he contributed little of note to an attacking unit that was bereft of creativity.
Dealt with all the crosses into his box adeptly, providing solid hands or a punched clearance. Was beaten at his near post by Diouf in what was his only real test on the night.
Always pushing on from left-back but largely underused in the first half. Hannover began to lose their shape as he pushed forward after the break as he enjoyed a far greater role in the game.
A physical yet fair performance from the Brazilian but his rushed clearances handed the opposition possession on multiple occasions.
Another stout defensive display from the Uruguayan. Was involved in a couple of mix-ups at the back but was fairly solid on the whole as they went unpunished.
Read the game well early on, making some crucial interceptions and blocks. However he was caught on the ball a few too many times as the game progressed.
Was absent for much of the game but came up with the goods when it mattered. He provided a key pass for Adrian's goal and then played a lovely chip to Falcao who fired in the winner. He was watched closely all night but showed his quality in the end.
Provided extra protection on his side's right flank as Pander and Rausch attacked but was poor going forward. Failed to make the most of two counterattacks as his passing let him down.
Picked up most of the loose balls in the middle and distributed them to his team-mates well. Showed he is not afraid of a physical battle with some strong challenges in midfield.
An efficient if unspectacular display from the Portuguese. He screened the defence well and look very assured on the ball as he took his time to pick out the right pass.
Was eager for the ball from the off and his late strike saved a rather disappointing performance from the Colombian. He rarely got a sight of goal but scored a stunning late goal to clinch the win after a terrible effort three minutes after the restart.
Struggled to get involved in the opening stages but proved he does not need many chances to find the back of the net. Scored a superb goal as he kept a cool head to round three players, two more than once, and slot into the net.

Played just over 15 minutes in the second half and was largely ineffectual.
Had one chance to shoot but his attempt was rash and ended up being completely mishit.
Came on in the 86th minute and had no opportunity to impact the game.

Came on in the 88th minute and had no opportunity to effect the game.
- 12 Paulo Assunção

Added some extra width to his side's play in the closing stages but did not see enough of the ball as Hannover searched for an equaliser.
