  • 90' + 2'
    Yellow Card Fernando Torres
  • 90' + 2'
Torres booked for a late challenge on Heitinga - first thing he has done all again perhaps the summer break will give him time to recharge the batteries and comeback the player that encouraged the Blues to spend £50 million on him.
  • 90' + 1'
Four minutes to be added on and Lampard hit a half volley from the edge of area the ruck of bodies prevent the ball from troubling Howard.

  • 89'
With only a few minutes remaining for Chelsea to take something from this match the Blues are swarming the Toffees penalty area but Everton are standing strong.
  • 85'
Anichebe nearly pushes the self destruct button by pushing Ferriera to the ground he is lucky that he is not walking for that - perhaps the referee did not have a great view of the incident.
  • 84'
Lampard has had a few shots at goal today but has not beat Howard yet still that does not stop him from another attempt but again the American is equal to the save.
  • 81'
Chelsea are trying to get back into the match. Anelka has been central to everything good about the Blues in this game and he looks to drill the shot into the bottom corner but he drags his short wide.
  • 80'
    Substitution Jermaine Beckford Victor Anichebe
  • 78'
    Substitution Michael Essien Josh McEachran
  • 75'
    Goal Jermaine Beckford
  • 74'
GOOOAALLLLL! And its the ten men lead who lead! here at Goodison! Jermaine Beckford has given the Toffees the lead - running almost 50 yards before dinking the ball over Petr Cech superb play.
  • 72'
Chelsea come forward and Lampard creates space to have a shot on goal the ball is swerving and dipping as it flies through the air but Howard does well to smother the ball at the second attempt.
  • 70'
    Substitution Alex Paulo Ferreira
  • 69'
The gane livened up considerably in the second half after the dismissal of Coleman. Everton have responded brilliantly to going down to 10 men. Baines delivered a fantastic ball into the box but Terry who has been solid today clears the danger.
  • 67'
Well Alex was lucky to escape there, an off the ball altercation with Beckford left the striker on the floor, the referee chooses to take no action leaving Jagielka fuming.
  • 64'
Well you wouldn't know that it was Everton that were the team down to 10 men they have battled hard, and Arteta has delivered a flurry of crosses but the Blues defence has stood strong.
  • 64'
Well you wouldn't know that it was Everton that were the team down to 10 men they have battled hard, and Arteta has delivered a flurry of crosses but the Blues defence has stood strong.
  • 61'
Substitution John Obi Mikel Salomon Kalou
  • 58'
Fulham are now 2-1 up Arsenal which subsequently means that Everton would not finish 8th. Chelsea are trying to stamp their authority on the match and make their one man advantage work. Malouda lashes a shot and again it is wide of Howard's goal.
  • 55'
It was a strong challenge by Coleman he does get the ball but the tackle is high and the studs are showing it is the type of tackle they have been trying to stamp out this season - so to speak! Elsewhere Terry decides to take matters into his own hands and fires a low hard shot which cannons off the post!
  • 54'
Coleman has been sent off for a bad challenge on Mikel - the Chelsea players surround the referree they are furious with the tackle. That seems to make up the ref's decision and he's off!
  • 53'
    Yellow/Red Seamus Coleman
  • 51'
    Yellow Card Alex
  • 51'
Baines is deservedly booked for a rash challenge on Anelka...
  • 50'
    Yellow Card Leighton Baines
  • 50'
Arteta takes the corner its whipped in and the Brazilian Alex snuffs out the danger with a thumping header.
  • 49'
Baines bursts forward and wins a free kick in a dangerous position much to the unhappiness of Essien. Arteta fancies it, and he drives the ball straight into the wall and out for a corner- a good start to the second for the Toffees.
  • 47'
    Yellow Card Seamus Coleman
  • 46'
The second half begins and its Everton who have came out the starting blocks quicker...
  • Well it is half time here at Goodison it has been a fairly inept performance by the Blues and they will need to improve if they want to beat the Toffees. Jagielka should have them in the lead with a free header earlier on and after that it has been a half of wayward shooting. Chelsea have came close through Anelka but were perhaps lucky to survive claims of a Everton penalty when Alex tackled Osman from behind in the box. Everton 0-0 Chelsea.
  • 44'
Anelka arguably Chelsea's best player forces Howard into a save low to his left but the American is equal to the shot.
  • 43'
Arteta is lookin Everton's best player he plays a delightful ball through to Beckford, he has the goal in his sights but he gets the shot all wrong and almost goes out for a throw. Incredible.
  • 42'
Everton have been the better side and look comfortable, Arteta is pulling the strings in the midfield with a lovely range of passing but it still remains 0-0 heading in the last few minutes of the half.
  • 39'
Arteta takes a short free kick and lays it off to Baines , similar to his opposite number Cole he hits the shot wide of the goals - the wayward shooting from both teams has typified the first half.
  • 36'
Ashley Cole - not reowned for his shooting ability- tries his luck from just outside the box. The left- back lashes the ball over the bar when he had better options ahead of him.
  • 33'
Ivanovic surges forward and wins a corner off Baines, Chelsea's first corner is taken by Malouda and Alex is close to giving the Blues the lead with an unchallenged header but it goes over the bar.
  • 31'
Chelsea's paitent style of football nearly unlocks the Toffees defence Lampard's dinks a ball into the path of Anelka but the pass is cut out.
  • 28'
Baines who has a fantastic season whips another trademark cross of his but Petr Cech bravely comes out to deny Osman. After a fairly slow start the match is starten to liven up.
  • 26'
    Yellow Card John Heitinga
  • 26'
Lampard has woken up and after some lovely play he clips the ball into the box to set up Anelka his header is over the bar.
  • 23'
Again Carlo Ancelotti's men surrender possession all too easily. Kalou came out earlier in the week saying it did not matter during the week who was the manager of the Blues and on this display it seems the attitude of the whole team. They are not fighting their managers corner with this performance so far!
  • 22'
Away from defending duties Essien tries to a long shot that goes well under the bar. Worringly for the Blues that is perhaps their best chance so far in the opening twenty minutes. Torres upfront has hardly touched the ball.
  • 19'
Everton are enjoying the bulk of possession and have another corner the ball eventually comes back out to Baines on the left hand side he tries to slide a ball across looking for Beckford but the chance is snuffed out by Essien.
  • 16'
The Toffees have claims for a penalty waved away as Osman goes down in the box, Alex's challenge is clumsy and from behind - though he does get a bit of the ball- the referee sees nothing wrong with it- a let off for Carlo Ancelotti's men.
  • 13'
Better from the visitors Ivanovic surges forward taking the ball into the Everton box he looks for an option and spots Essien in a bit of space he curls a ball into the box looking for Anelka but it drifts harmlessly into Howard's arms.
  • 11'
Tim Cahill - who has scored against three of the big four this season is looking to make Chelsea his next victim he starts up an opportunity but it soon fizzles out. The Blues yet to really create anything substantial in this match and come under attack again as another dangerous ball is whipped into the box by the influential Baines. Chelsea scramble it clear.
  • 8'
Everton are in the ascendancy and Beckford tries his luck from 25 yards looking to bend it into the top right hand corner, but the shot goes harmlessly over the bar.
  • 6'
Everton suddenly burst into life and a surging run down the right wing by Jack Rodwell results in a corner kick for the Toffees. The corner is whipped in and Phil Jagielka rises above the defence to power a header only for him to see it crack the top of the bar and go over. So unlucky!
  • 3'
Well it has been a fairly quiet opening to the match it has the feel of an end of season game, both teams giving the ball away needlessly in the early stages.

  • Hello folks and welcome to the live commentary of Everton v Chelsea with me Craig Turnbull. Today has been dubbed “Survival Sunday” but while this match does not have an effect on either sides final standings – barring a major goal turnaround at the Reebok Stadium where Bolton host Manchester City- both teams will be ensuring that they finish their season on a high. David Moyes side will finish 7th with at least a point at Goodison Park and Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping a win here will be enough to survive the chop from Roman Ambramovich. Other managers have went for less under the Russian billionaire and for many Ancelotti’s fate has already been sealed with the Italian recently declaring interest in the vacant post at West Ham. Perhaps the real interest comes after the match will Ancelotti still be Chelsea manager – with the Blues finishing with their worst tally of points under Ambramovich it looks debatable and will Moyes- who has guided Everton to eight top 10 finishes including this season - get the backing of the board to push Everton further next season.
