V. Anichebe 21'
M. Fellaini 69', 90'+
C. Benteke 2', 61'
G. Agbonlahor 24'
So Everton move level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham, having played a game more. Villa stay 19th. Heartbreak for Lambert. How many times have they dropped points from winning positions?
90' + 7'
And that's it! Full-time! Fellaini's injury-time equaliser hands Everton a share of the spoils! Superb ending to a very entertaining second half.
90' + 6'
Yellow CardYacouba Sylla
90' + 6'
Villa concede a pointless free kick around 30 yards out. Baines sends it in, Distin climbs, Guzan sees it spin over the bar. That should be about it.
90' + 5'
Fellaini nearly steals all the points as he directs a header from the penalty spot on target, but Guzan holds on.
90' + 4'
There is still about three minutes left to play. Is there a winner in this?
90' + 3'
90' + 3'
GOAL!! EVERTON HAVE EQUALISED! Fellaini salvage a point for his side with a near-post header! Villa boss Lambert cannot believe it, hanging his head in disappointment. Poor marking by Vlaar in the set-piece. Yet another two-lead lost by Villa.
90' + 2'
Baker is brought on to replace Agbonlahor and try and waste some time.
90' + 1'
There will be SIX minutes of stoppage time. No idea where that has come from.
Yellow CardLeon Osman
Deary me, now it is Osman's turn to be lucky not to be dismissed as he essentially dropkicks Westwood in the side.
Yellow CardGabriel Agbonlahor
Everton seem to be running out of ideas. Villa, while under pressure, are dealing with the hosts' attacks time and time again. Four minutes to go.
Everton continue to pile on the pressure, Pienaar and Baines in particular trying to get the ball into the box at every opportunity. Guzan continues to stand tall.
Karim El Ahmadi
Another change for Villa as Holman is brought on in place of El Admadi.
Sylla comes on for his debut, replacing a poor N'Zogbia.
Villa are not helping themselves. Lambert's nerves seem to have reached his players as silly mistakes are starting to appear as they struggle to get out of their own half.
Another corner comes in, and this time Guzan claims comfortable. He has been superb for Villa today.
Everton win another corner, and they are really piling on the pressure. Baines takes, it finds Distin around three yards out but Guzan manages to get enough on the ball to divert behind for another corner. High fives all round for the goalkeeper.
Lambert is looking very nervous on the touchline, and understandably so. His team has let two-goal leads slip a number of times already this season.
Here is Ryan with more on that goal: "We have 20 minutes to go here and Everton are giving this a real go. Bryan Oviedo does well down the left and picks out Marouane Fellaini just inside the area. The Belgian plays a one-two with Victor Anichebe and then strikes the ball into the bottom corner."
GOAL! Everton are back in! Fellaini plays a one-two with Anichebe to dart into the area and slots the ball low past Guzan! Villa have 20 minutes to hang on.
Everton are piling on the pressure and win a free kick near the left-hand touchline. Pienaar takes, goes for goal but Guzan has it covered.
Moyes makes two changes, but the Everton fans greet them with boos as he bizarrely takes off Kevin Mirallas.
Yellow CardMatthew Lowton
Woah, Lowton is very lucky to still be on the pitch after a challenge from behind on Baines. He is shown a yellow.
Here is Ryan with more on that goal: "The Everton fans are getting increasingly frustrated as their side wastes chances, but Aston Villa continue to look imperious on the break. Matthew Lowton does well to get beyond Leighton Baines and cross from the right, and Christian Benteke beats Johnny Heitinga and glances the ball into the corner of the goal to give Villa a two-goal lead. The Belgian may have been offside, but he won't care. 3-1 Villa."
GOAL! 3-1!! A brilliant header from Benteke sees Villa extend their lead over Everton as the striker gets the better of Jagielka to glance Lowton's inch-perfect cross from a good 12 yards past Howard and in off the post.
Free kick to Aston Villa near the halfway line as Weimann runs straight into Distin. The centre-back couldn't do much about that, to be fair. The ball is sent straight to the opposite flank, where the visitors win a throw-in near the corner flag.
Anichebe is going to continue, but Jelavic continues to prepare himself.
Anichebe is down for Everton as Jelavic, who is warming up, looks on. The Croatian has scored in all three of his appearances against Villa, even when playing for Rapid Vienna.
Villa get a foot on the ball and are currently playing it around, looking for a gap in the Everton defence. The hosts' midfield are keeping them at bay at the moment. It's got a bit scrappy in the last few minutes.
Villa playing on the counter now, and Everton are making it easy with poor decision-making in the final third. Fellaini is trying his best to spark something but Vlaar and Clark are making it hard to produce anything on substance yet.
And Fellaini is finally reintroduced, but he is not moving too freely. Must have been given the all-clear by the medics though.
...the forward charges through the centre of the pitch, travels some 50 yards, and slips in Weimann in on goal but the striker blasts over from the edge of the area. A real waste that, that should have been a goal.
As Fellaini continues to look in pain on the touchline, holding his back, the game continues with Anichebe trying to force something on the edge of the area, but loses out to Agbonlahor...
Guzan puts the ball forward towards Benteke, and Jagielka falls under a challenge from the striker as play is initially waved on to allow Benteke is skip into the area before the linesman belatedly calls the play back to boos from away support
Fellaini looks OK to continue, but he is hobbling. Just waiting for the signal to come back on as the game gets back underway.
...Great delivery by Baines, but Guzan is there to punch under pressure from Fellaini, who drops to the floor in agony. This doesn't look too good.
Early free kick for Everton, around 25 yards out...
And we are underway in the second half! Everton get us started again.
The teams are out for the second half. No changes.
Here are Ryan Benson's half-time thoughts from Goodison Park: "Half-time at Goodison Park and Aston Villa have a slender 2-1 lead over Everton. The visitors took a third minute lead through Christian Benteke after good work by Charles N'Zogbia, but Everton began dominate afterwards. They eventually had an equaliser through Victor Anichebe, but a Gabriel Agbonlahor restored Villa's lead just minutes later. Everton have dominated almost the entire first half, but they have been very wasteful in front of goal. However, this Villa defence looks very shaky."
45' + 2'
And that's it for the irst half! Aston Villa lead 2-1, but can count themselves a tad lucky after living on the edge of the final 15 minutes of the half. The visitors have defended valiantly though.
45' + 1'
Yellow CardChristian Benteke
There will be two minutes of added time.
Anichebe is played through on goal by Osman, but is quickly pulled up by the referee for offside. David Moyes is seen scratching his head on the touchline.
...Baines sends it in, and it is a better delivery, but again Villa clear, albeit at the second attempt.
N'Zogbia is furious to be called up for a foul on Mirallas, and it is slightly harsh, but Everton win the free kick anyway some 35 yards out...
Another corner to Everton, another slightly off delivery from Baines as Villa are able to clear and regroup before the hosts are able to threaten again. Villa more than holding their own at the moment, but Everton are edging it slightly.
Here is Ryan Benson, straight from Goodison Park: "This match certainly has a distinctive pattern as Aston Villa score, then Everton dominate and repeat. The hosts look dangerous as Kevin Mirallas appears on the right, plays a one-two with Darron Gibson before crossing low. Arriving late in the area is Leon Osman and he smashes a shot towards goal, but a deflection off Victor Anichebe sees it go behind."
Deary me. Another Everton charge down the left by Baines with Fellaini, Anichebe, Mirallas and Pienaar all busting a gut to reach the expected delivery into the area... but Baines plays it behind all four to groans from the home crowd.
Fellaini tries to pull the strings in midfielder and holds off the challenge of Westwood to turn the midfielder and charge towards goal. The problem? He left the ball behind.
Everton are trying their best to restore parity again, but their level on dominance is not on the same scale as before.
...the delivery is good, straight towards Heitinga, but Villa clear almost immediately.
Free kick to Everton now right on the edge of the area, but on the right-hand side, after Bennett takes of Miralles. Baines is standing over it (of course)...
It is end-to-end here at Goodison Park as Mirallas darts into the area with just Guzan to beat, only for the goalkeeper to show great reactions and smother the ball in the nick of time. Guzan puffs out his cheeks, along with the Villa fans.
Here is Ryan again: "Aston Villa are straight back on the attack after conceding and win themselves a corner. Little comes of it, but the ball quickly works its way back out to Ashley Westwood on the right. The midfielder whips in a fantastic cross and Gabriel Agbonlahor heads it past Tim Howard."
GOAL!! Aston Villa reply immediately! Agbonlahor latching onto Westwood's cross into the area with a fine header from eight yards out low into the far corner. 2-1!
Aston Villa's midfield is not giving the defence much cover at the moment as Kevin Mirallas roams inside plays the ball into the penalty area for Victor Anichebe. The forward holds off Ciaran Clark with ease before he turns and rolls the ball into the bottom far corner.
GOAL! Everton equalise! Anichebe with the goal! A quick counterattacking move between involving Fellaini, Pienaar, Osman finds with the striker with his back to goal inside the area. He holds off Vlaar with ease and strikes low under Guzan. Great strength and finish.
Here are Ryan's thoughts from Goodison Park: "Everton are in complete control currently as they keep getting shots away, however there finishing has not been particularly impressive. This time, great link-up play between Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar sees the latter open his body up before shooting from the edge of the box, but Brad Guzan gets down to stop the tame effort."
Both managers are on the edge of the technical areas, Lambert looking for more support from the lone figure of Beneteke, Moyes making similar gestures in Anichebe's direction.
...and it was, the ball sails high and wide from Baines.
Free kick to Everton as Pienaar is felled by Westwood. Baines is standing over it, but it seems too far out for an attempt on target...
Everton are on top now, and Gibson tries his luck from distance but his shot skids inches wide of the post. Villa are struggling to contain their opposition now.
Another half chance for Everton as Anichebe tries to get on the end of Osman's ball forward, by Guzman runs out to collect.
Everton are most definitely in this game now, arguably edging the possession stats.
First corner of the game falls to Everton, and Guzman has to be aware as Fellaini's near-post header threatens to glide under the crossbar, the goalkeeper making a smart save.
Everton starting to get a foot in to game as Moyes is seen asking for his players to calm down and start to dictate the flow of the game.
Everton, understandly, are stunned and Villa are on the crest of a wave dominating the early stages. But, we've all been here before with Villa. There is a long way to go.
Here is our man at the ground, Ryan Benson, with more on Villa's opener: "Aston Villa are looking confident so far as Charles N'Zogbia comes in off the right, holding off two challenges before he slides a ball through to Christian Benteke. The forward controls the ball and then surges past Johnny Heitinga way too easily before placing the ball into the bottom far corner. Great start for the visitors."
GOAL!! The perfect start for Aston Villa as Benteke races into the area and shows great composure to finish low across Howard into the far corner.
And we are underway at Goodison Park!
The teams are out, we are just minutes away from kick-off. Predictions? I'm going for a comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts.
Villa lost at home to Newcastle last time out and Paul Lambert has felt the need to make some slight adjustments. Nathan Baker, Barry Bannan and Darren Bent drop out for Karim El-Ahmadi, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann. Deadline day signings Simon Dawkins and Jacouba Sylla take places on the bench.
The hosts' only change sees Phil Neville drop to the bench for Darron Gibson who is making a return from injury, while Victor Anichebe continues in attack as Nikica Jelavic settles for a place on the bench once again.
ASTON VILLA: Guzan; Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett; Westwood, El Ahmadi; Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia; Weimann, Benteke Subs: Given, Sylla, Bent, Holman, Bowery, Dawkins, Baker
EVERTON: Howard; Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Gibson, Osman; Mirallas, Fellaini, Pienaar; Anichebe Subs: Mucha, Jelavic, Oviedo, Naismith, Hitzlsperger, Neville, Duffy
