There are no new injury concerns for Rafa Benitez to contend with. The Spaniard is once again without long term absentees Daniel Sturridge (hamstring), John Terry (knee) and Oriol Romeu (cruciate ligament).

David Luiz could once again be given an a opportunity in midfield after impressing against Monterrey in a more advanced role.

Corinthians coach Tite is likely to stick with the 4-2-2-2 formation which served him well in the club's successful Copa Libertadores campaign.

Emerson will lead the line, with Paulinho and Ralf sitting in front of the defence, allowing Danilo and Douglas enough room to venture forward.

In defence, Tite should retain faith in the back four of Alessandro, Chicao, Paulo Andre and Fabio Santos as the Brazilian club aims to seal its second Club World Cup win after triumphing in the inaugral competition in 2000.

  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Chelsea have won only four of their last 14 games, but have been victorious in each of their last three matches.
  • This will be Rafa Benitez's third Club World Cup campaign, having lost to Sao Paulo with Liverpool in 2005 and triumphed with Inter over Mazembe in 2010. If Chelsea win the trophy, he will draw level with fellow Spaniard Pep Guardiola, who has two winners' medals earned with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011.
  • Fernando Torres (pictured right) has scored five goals in his last three games - he currently has 24 in 92 for the club.
  • Torres attempted nine shots in Chelsea's Champions League match against FC Nordsjelland, the most he has ever attempted in a game for the Blues - he scored two goals.
  • Corinthians are seeking to become the first side other than Barcelona to win the competition for a second time.
  • Corinthians' Danilo and Fabio Santos already boast a Club World Cup winner's medal, having been part of the Sao Paulo squad that won the 2005 final against Liverpool.
  • The Brazilian outfit beat Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final in July, having won their national title in 2011.

Emerson bagged two goals against Boca Juniors to fire Corinthians to their first ever Copa Libertadores title and seal their place as the best club side in the South America. The Brazilian-Qatari striker has scored 10 goals in 47 games for the Sao Paulo-based outfit and will once again lead the line against Chelsea.

The Spaniard has begun to spark back into life after being reunited with Rafa Benitez. Five goals in three games after almost two months without a goal tells its own story. Chelsea's interim boss has got the Blues set up to get the most out of their lone striker and by evidence of the results so far, it seems to be working. A winning goal in Sunday's final could provide a huge boost in confidence for the much-maligned Torres.

Prediction
Expect a wide open game with both sides more comfortable operating on the front foot. Chelsea should edge the tie on paper, with the vast array of attacking talent Rafa Benitez has at his disposal. Corinthians, however, are certainly not to be taken lightly. Much will be deciced on how the Brazilian side deal with Chelsea going forward because the South Americans will no doubt cause Chelsea problems going the other way.
