Maybe a little slow off his line for the opener but could do little about the second. Very much a spectator in the second half.
Extremely cool at the back and when he was up against Adriano he handled him well. He was caught napping for the second goal as Simplicio got in front of him far too easily.
Lost the ball a number of times as he kept trying to play on the floor in the poor conditions. But was more effective when he moved out to left on small strip of the field that was actually playable.
A couple of judgement errors at the back as he struggled with the cut-up pitch. Poor positioning for the second goal as he allowed Cassetti far too much room.
A weak point in the first half, but made an excellent block in the second to deny Simplicio what would have been his hat-trick.
Was cautious in coming forward and rarely had anything to do from a defensive standpoint in the opening period. But made a few storming runs after the break.
Some excellent interceptions in midfield, but was far too weak for the goal as Simplicio out muscled him.
His set-piece delivery and crossing was poor, often finding opposition players rather than his own team mates.
Had a great chance towards the end of the first half, but he was at full stretch and his header went over the bar from 6 yards.
One shot of note in the first half but he scored with a magnificent shot from outside the area in the second. Put in an excellent shift and never gave the defence a moments rest.
A game of two halves for the frontman. Caught offside too often in the first, should have been more aware of the position of the defenders. Operated more in the channels during the second half and caused problems.
Had little to do in the first half then made a horrendous error in the second for Moscardelli's goal. He went down far too early.
A tough night for Mexes as the Bentegodi pitch was extremely poor but he showed his strength and awareness to keep Chievo's attack quiet during the first half. Also made a goal line clearance late in the game which denied the home team a winner. A rock for Roma.
Gave the ball away on numerous occasions. But sent in a good ball for Simpicio's second as he roamed forward.
No nonsense from the centre-back. Hoofed the ball up the park whenever given a chance and was exactly what was needed given the state of the playing surface. Good in the second half as Chievo put him under more pressure.
Coped reasonably well on the left and rarely allowed anything past him in the first half. But he allowed too many crosses in after the break.
A quiet game from the midfielder. Drew a few fouls as he tried to get forward and had one decent effort in the first have, though he drilled it wide.
Quiet game from the youngster, struggled to impose himself in a scrappy match.
Fantastic first goal. Battled well with Rigoni and flicked the ball over the midfielders head then finished with a brilliant half volley. Got his second from a low Cassetti cross when he got in front of Andreolli.
D. De Rossi
Played in a deeper role, winning the ball back well but a rush of blood to the head caused him to be sent off. A reckless challenge and fully warranted a red card.
Went close with an early freekick. Unwilling to shoot on his right foot and looked a bit heavy. To his credit though he showed good strength and held the ball up well for his team mates.
Fairly quiet as he was another to have issues with the pitch, but was more influential late in the first half. Though he cut a frustrated figure as Chievo doubled up on him more frequently.

Came on late.

Another super sub for Stefano Pioli. He made an instant impact upon his introduction to set-up Granoche for the equaliser.
Instantly caused problems and took his goal extremely well. The catalyst for Chievo's comeback.
