Had to be at his best to keep out Jonathan Spector's diving header at his near post in the first-half. His handling was superb and he gave Chelsea a solid foundation at the back
Given an almighty clout by his goalkeeper in the first-half but he recovered to put in the kind of solid display the Chelsea fans have become accustomed to. He went so close to adding another goal to his tally this season but his dipping shot thundered off the bar.
Another consistent performance from the England left-back. He showed why he was named in the PFA team of the year with an excellent show of attacking full-back play which saw him lay the pass on for Frank Lampard's opener.
The Chelsea captain did not let Wayne Bridge's handshake snub affect him as he put in a solid display to lead his side to victory.
Solid display from the right-back who surged forward at every opportunity. West Ham looked to get at him and Demba Ba gave him a few awkward moments but he used his experience to ride the storm.
Was in the right place at the right time for the first goal and he took it brilliantly. He drove Chelsea forward and looked much more like his old self. He got into the box and produced a number of testing shots for Robert Green to deal with.
Put in a decent display in the middle of the park and hurt West Ham with his powerful runs forward. But the Ghana international was replaced midway through the second-half after picking up an injury. He made his way straight down the tunnel for treatment and Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping it is not serious.
The French winger was lively in the opening stages and showed some neat touches in attack. He had a glorious chance in the second minute to give his side the perfect start but Robert Green did brilliantly to get his body behind the shot. Faded as the game went on and gave the ball away too easily on a few occasions but finished with a bang to get the third.
J. Obi Mikel
Made a vital clearance off the line from Demba Ba's header in the second-half. He protected his back four with assurance.
Did not have the impact his manager would have wanted. He struggled to get into the game and failed to take a glorious opportunity presented to him in the first-half after his touch failed him. Replaced by Nicolas Anelka with 20 minutes to go.
Lead the forward line very well and used his strength to cause problems for the West Ham defence. While it didn't quite happen in front of goal for Drogba his all-round play brought others into the game.
Fantastic save in the opening minutes to deny Florent Malouda when he was clear through on goal. He had a busy afternoon but stood up well to what Chelsea threw at him. He made an excellent save in the second-half from a curling Frank Lampard effort but he could do nothing as his international team-mate buried the the first past him.
Given a torrid time by Florent Malouda and Ashley Cole. He gave the England full-back far too much space as Cole provided the cross for Frank Lampard's goal.
Alongside Manuel Da Costa the Welshman put in a solid display to limit Chelsea to one goal. Superb clearance off the line from Nicolas Anelka's shot.
Brought in by Avram Grant to replace the injured Scott Parker and he gave everything for his side. He got from box to box in what was a tireless display. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with a diving header which was well saved by Petr Cech.
Manuel da Costa
He was a commanding presence for West Ham and he showed his strength in the air up against Didier Drogba. But the Chelsea dominance showed in end and alongside his defensive colleagues they just could not keep the Blues out any longer.
The former Chelsea full-back was booed all afternoon after snubbing a John Terry handshake for the second time but he will not be worried after putting in a solid performance.
The German international did not have one of his better afternoons. Chelsea dominated the midfield and he struggled to get any grip on the game.
Battled hard in the middle of the park for his side but his afternoon was ended after being carried from the field on a stretcher.
Found plenty of space on the counter and tested Petr Cech with a stinging long range effort. Used his big frame and pace to good effect to cut inside from the left and trouble the Chelsea defence. He was one of West Ham's better performers.
The England forward was totally isolated in the first-half as Chelsea dominated and the visitors struggled to keep hold of possession. He came into the game more in the second-half and found himself in some good positions but like so many times this season he failed to take them.
Showed good pace in getting past Ashley Cole and providing the cross for Jonathan Spector's diving header but apart from that he did not show enough. He drifted in and out of the game. Replaced by Victor Obinna in the closing stages.
- 22 R. Turnbull
- 34 R. Bertrand
- 19 Paulo Ferreira
Brought on in place of Michael Essien and showed some glimpses of the quality he possesses.
- 18 Y. Zhirkov
The £50 million striker's Chelsea career got up and running as he finally broke his scoring duck in front of the Matthew Harding stand with a clinical finish to wrap up the three points. He also played a hand in the third goal which Malouda thundered home.
Looked dangerous when he came on and had a hand in creating Fernando Torres' goal.
- 31 R. Boffin
- 5 J. Tomkins
- 14 R. Kováč
- 13 Boa Morte
Replaced Carlton Cole with ten minutes to go but he could not add to his tally of six Premier League goals this season.
Looked lively when he joined the action and had a glorious opportunity to get his side back on level terms but he will be disappointed with his effort as his shot flew inches wide of Petr Cech's goal.
