Let down by his defence for Shakhtar's goals and was solid when required to make a save. Will have been relieved to see efforts from Teixiera and Rat go just wide and hit the post, respectively.
Looked much stronger than Bertrand and Shakhtar responded, focusing much of their attacking play down the youngster's flank. The Serbian bombed forward on occasion, but was unable to have his usual impact from wide.
A couple of great last-ditch blocks got his side out of sticky situations. Threatened disaster at times with a couple of slips but his greater pace saw him do well against some of the visitors' attacking attempts.
Given a chance to prove his credentials at left-back in Ashley Cole's absence but endured a torrid evening. Both Shakhtar's goals came from his flank and his confidence was soon shot to pieces. Made a crucial goal-line block to prevent a late Shakthar winner, before Moses struck.
Was strong against the aerial threat of Luiz Adriano but had absolutely no answer for the Ukrainian's sweeping style when the ball was on the ground. Could have prevented both Shakhtar goals with better positioning.
Largely outshone by Shakhtar's Brazilian No.7 in the centre of midfield but was purposeful as he looked to burst towards goal. Clearly fouled by Srna as he stormed into the box but no penalty was given.
Twisted and turned as he looked to spark something in attack for the Blues but was often subdued by the physical dominance of Fernandinho and Hubschman.
Constantly available in space and was neat on the ball, sending a teasing ball across that forced Pyatov to rush from his box, leading to Oscar's goal. His delivery from set-plays was also a regular danger for the hosts.
Cut a frustrated figure as Shakhtar's incisive play bypassed him but responded in the best possible way, picking up Pyatov's clearance and dispatching a perfect volley back over the keeper's head and into the goal.
J. Obi Mikel
Completely lost Willian as the Brazilian took up a central position and ghosted into the box to score his first and lacked the pace to keep up with the visitors' slick attacking. Had the ball in the net in the second half but was offside from Mata's free kick.
Showed a lack of composure, allowing an early chance to run to Pyatov, but was let off the hook seconds later as an attempted clearance from the goalkeeper hit him and ricocheted into the goal. His touch was often ponderous and let the Blues down in attack.
Smashed the ball into Torres, seeing the ball loop into the net in the fifth minute, and was also at fault for Oscar's second, rushing from his line and heading straight to the Brazilian, who scored from 45 yards. His distribution was regularly poor, although he showed sharp shot-stopping skills.
Absolutely tireless on the right flank, operating as both full-back and winger. Defended well against Hazard but shone in attack, regularly leaving Bertrand chasing shadows, as he did before cutting back to Willian for the Brazilian's second.
Rattled the post with a great second-half volley and was slightly more reserved than Srna but also looked incredibly threatening when pushing forward.
His underhit early backpass forced Pyatov into a rushed clearance that clattered off Torres and ended up in the net. Looked to be the weak link of the Ukrainians' defence, with clumsy passing and poor positioning in evidence.
Had enough pace to deal fairly comfortably with Torres. Attempted to cut out Pyatov's poor headed clearance but saw the ball drop to Oscar, who then hit his magical goal.
The one true defensive force in Shakhtar's midfield. Was relatively unchallenged as his side dominated the majority of possession and even managed to break forward a few times but was wasteful with two close-range chances.
Has been outstanding so far this season but was perhaps the quietest of the Ukrainians' attacking threats. His frustrating evening was summed up in the first half as he attempted to cross the ball but fell over his own feet instead.
Burst through the Blues' back line before cutting back to Willian for his first goal, later setting up Srna's assist with an incredible ball that took three Chelsea players out of the game. His driving runs from deep and neat passing proved impossible for Mikel and Ramires to handle.
Lined up on the left but given licence to roam infield. Displayed magical footwork and found space in the centre time after time, turning home twice after cut-backs from Fernandinho and then Srna.
Buzzed around well as he moved infield from the right wing. Saw a shot fizz just wide of the post and his evident confidence on the ball was just too much for Bertrand to contend with. Substituted after 77 minutes.
The focal point of Shakhtar's attacks without ever providing a goal threat of his own. Showed a great touch to bring high balls down and bring his attacking team-mates into play.
