FULL TIME! All over and the final score is Chelsea 3-3 Aston Villa. An incredible game at Stamford Bridge with the Blues thinking they had won it after Terry's late goal before Clark's even later goal evened it up. The Blues stay fifth, Villa into 15th. That's all from me, but stay with Goal.com for report, ratings and all the reaction from the game.
  • 90' + 4'
Now a chance for Albrighton! Villa cross from the right it comes all the way to the substitute at the far post but he doesn't connect cleanly and the chance is gone!

    Assist Salomon Kalou
  • 83'
    Goal Didier Drogba
  • 83'
Agbonlahor goes down injured now but the referee is having none of it and orders him to get up, which he does. This is going to be a long final few minutes for Villa and their fans.
  • 81'
Panic in the Villa box as Chelsea get bodies forward but the ball just won't fall for them! Eventually Collins gets enough on it to get it clear but it looks just a temporary respite, the visitors are really hanging on now.
  • 80'
Chance for Villa! Agbonlahor does well down the left and sends in a low cross. Heskey just gets on the end of it to lay it back to Young but his fierce shot is blocked! Young appears to have injured himself too during that and is hobbling around at the moment.
  • 79'
    Substitution Nicolas Anelka Daniel Sturridge
  • 79'
More activity down on the Chelsea bench and it's Danny Sturridge who joins the fray, he takes Anelka's place as the hosts make their final change.
  • 77'
Bosingwa concedes a corner in comical fashion. The substitute attempts an overhead kick out of defence but the ball simply cannons back off his own head and out of play for a Villa corner.
  • 76'
    Yellow Card John Terry
  • 76'
The game has gone a little while without a booking but Terry quickly makes amends, sending Young flying and picking up a card for his troubles.
  • 75'
Rare chance on the attack from Villa as Downing sends a shot but it's straight at Cech. Chelsea then pour forwards and Kalou is denied by a superb tackle by Dunne.
  • 74'
Instant impact by Kalou who is sent scampering into the box but can't tee up Lampard. He then goes tumbling in the box under pressure from Petrov, but the referee, correctly, waves play on.
  • 73'
    Substitution Ramires Salomon Kalou
  • 73'
Another change for the Blues and off goes Ramires, on comes Kalou.
  • 72'
Drogba lurks on the edge of the box and tries to pick out Anelka but Collins is there first to nick the ball away.
  • 71'
Into the last 20 minutes and Chelsea still a goal behind but full of threat and Aston Villa are having to hang on a little bit here.
  • 69'
Lampard tries to set up Malouda for a cross on the left, but Cuellar is alive to the danger and shepherds the ball out of play under pressure from the Frenchman.
  • 67'
Another good block by Friedel! This time Lampard is the supplier, sliding in a delicious ball to Malouda but Friedel just gets there ahead of the Frenchman! Lampard becomingly increasingly influential in this second half.
  • 66'
Time to check in with our man James Daly at the Bridge: "Ancelotti hasn't moved from his hands-in-pockets pose on the touchline, stoically watching his side and offering little reaction as the ball sails out for another goal kick. A man resigned to resign?"
  • 65'
Corner to Chelsea, Malouda swings it in from the right, Collins clears but only as far as Malouda who gives it to Bosingwa but his cross is over everyone.
  • 63'
WHAT A SAVE BY FRIEDEL! Great play by Chelsea with Drogba's cross finding Malouda who tees up Lampard just yards from goal. The midfielder just has Friedel to beat and thumps it on the half volley but somehow the American manages to tip it over the bar! Phenomenal stop!
  • 60'
The corner goes straight to Cech who gets Chelsea on the attack again. The threat from the hosts is building but Villa defending well at the moment.
  • 59'
Agbonlahor races straight past substitute Bosingwa to win a corner for Villa and relieve some of the growing pressure.
  • 57'
    Substitution Paulo Ferreira José Bosingwa
  • 57'
Carlo Ancelotti has seen enough. Off goes Paulo Ferreira and on comes Jose Bosingwa.
  • 55'
GREAT CHANCE FOR RAMIRES! The midfielder is inches away from an equaliser after his cross-shot creeps narrowly past Friedel's post with the goalkeeper beaten!
  • 54'
Ramires tries to get Chelsea going with a strong run. He wins a corner which Lampards sends in, the ball is headed clear but only far as Drogba who swings a leg at it but again it's blocked as Villa hold firm.
  • 53'
Chelsea try to advance down the left through Ashley Cole but Cuellar does enough to clear the danger. Villa have looked strong defensively in this match, but you suspect that defence may be in for a busy 40 or so minutes now.
  • 51'
Anelka plays in Drogba who slides a ball forwards to ... absolutely no-one! The Villa fans jeer, they are enjoying their afternoon in west London so far.
  • 49'
    Yellow Card Emile Heskey
  • 49'
Here comes booking No. 7 and it goes to Emile Heskey, mind you he won't care if the scoreline stays the same.
  • 47'
    Assist Stewart Downing
  • 47'
    Goal Emile Heskey
  • 47'
GOAL! Villa lead and it's Heskey who scores! The goal comes from a cross by Downing who is picked out from a free-kick by Young and Heskey gets a run on Bruma to head past Cech who gets a hand on it but can't keep it out!
  • 46'
Almost a disaster for Chelsea! Ferreira's shocking backpass looks to have Cech in all sorts of trouble but somehow he gets enough of it with Heskey closing in.
  • 46'
Welcome back! No changes for either side as Chelsea get this second half underway.
  • 45' + 4'
HALF-TIME! All level at the break after Ashley Young's penalty cancelled out Frank Lampard's opening penalty! Very even so far but surely something has to give, particularly after the visitors picked up six bookings in the first half. Join me after the break to find out if we'll have a winner.
  • 45' + 3'
Again Villa waste the free-kick. Downing sending it low into the wall, however, Villa regain possession, cross to the far post where Cech is forced to block!
  • 45' + 2'
Young, who is getting roundly booed by the Chelsea fans, is now brought down by Essien on the edge of the box. Real chance for Villa now right on the brink of half-time.
  • 45'
    Yellow Card Ciaran Clark
  • 45'
Into three minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half...
  • 44'
Now Ciaran Clark is booked and Villa need to be careful here if they are to avoid going down to 10 men.
  • 42'
    Yellow Card Gabriel Agbonlahor
  • 42'
A clumsy challenge by Agbonlahor brings down Ramires and brings the striker a booking. Villa's fifth of the afternoon and it's not even half-time yet!
  • 41'
    Assist Nigel Reo-Coker
  • 41'
    Penalty Goal Ashley Young
  • 41'
GOAL! Ashley Young absolutely belts the ball past Cech and Villa are level!
  • 40'
PENALTY TO VILLA! Essien fouls Reo-Coker as they both go for the ball in the box and the referee points straight to the spot! Chance for the visitors to get level before the break!
  • 39'
    Yellow Card Ramires
  • 39'
Ramires becomes the first Chelsea man to see yellow after he interrupts Petrov's burst forwards.
  • 38'
WHAT A CHANCE FOR VILLA! It really should be 1-1. From a corner, Villa keep possession and Downing dinks a ball in and finds Dunne, yards from goal and with time and space but he shanks the ball over the bar! Let off for Chelsea.
  • 37'
Back to James Daly and an update from Stamford Bridge: "A quick look around the ground at the various banners on display, and Chelsea are a widely-supported team it seems. Flags indicating support from Malta, Cork, New York, Bermuda, the UAE, Sweden, Cyprus and Swindon no less have all been unfurled on the West Stand gantry."
  • 35'
Another promising attack by Villa ends in disappointment after Downing's cross from the right flies miles wide. Villa have done OK until they have got into the Chelsea box and then their final ball has let them down.
  • 33'
A quick counter by Chelsea looks really threatening. A super ball by Lampard has Malouda and Ramires clear through but the Frenchman makes a hash of it and somehow Villa escape.
  • 31'
Goal.com's James Daly is at Stamford Bridge this afternoon and here are his thoughts on the action so far: "Ashley Young has quickly become the villain of the afternoon's festivities, after his late challenge on John Terry. A chorus of boos (and more offensive chants) ring out around the Matthew Harding stand when the winger goes over to take a succession of corners."
  • 30'
Another waste by Villa! Young lays the free-kick off to Petrov who spanks the ball high into the stands. It takes a deflection, though, so Villa do have a corner which Clark can only head over.
  • 29'
A few ironic cheers roll around Stamford Bridge after Villa win a free-kick and with it a chance for Ashley Young to send the ball into the box.
  • 28'
    Yellow Card Nigel Reo-Coker
  • 27'
Another booking for Villa goes to Reo-Coker after he fouls Drogba. Villa are looking really frustrated, as well they might, they had started the game well yet are still behind.
  • 25'
Now Emile Heskey goes flying in on Terry and leaves the skipper in a heap. The challenge has the home crowd on its feet while Heskey is furious at the referee for awarding a foul. Either way the temperature has just risen here a notch following that penalty award.
  • 24'
Brad Friedel was booked for his protests following the award of the penalty. It looked a little harsh but Collins did get the wrong side of Malouda who then certainly convinced the referee it was a foul.
  • 23'
    Yellow Card James Collins
  • 23'
    Assist Florent Malouda
  • 23'
    Penalty Goal Frank Lampard
  • 23'
GOAL! Lampard makes no mistake from the spot, smashing the ball past Friedel and Chelsea lead 1-0! Villa continue their protests to the referee but it makes no difference!
  • 22'
    Yellow Card Brad Friedel
  • 21'
PENALTY TO CHELSEA! Villa are furious but the referee points straight to the spot after Collins tangles with Malouda and the Frenchman goes to ground!
  • 20'
    Yellow Card Stilian Petrov
  • 20'
First booking of the afternoon and it goes to Petrov. The midfielder scythes down Malouda and leaves the referee little option but to produce the yellow as Malouda gingerly gets to his feet.
  • 19'
Bit better from Chelsea who attack down the right with Anelka. He swings in a cross which would be perfect for Drogba, but only finds Malouda at the far post who heads tamely wide.
  • 17'
Decent play by Villa who work the ball nicely out to Agbonlahor ont he left. He crosses the ball in but Terry reads it well and brings the ball clear.
  • 16'
Another loose pass by Essien is intercepted easily by Dunne and you get the feeling that Villa are just starting to grow in confidence here.
  • 14'
Close by Ashley Young, although I'm not sure he meant it! The Villa man tries a cross but it almost creeps into the far corner and needs Cech to tip it to safety!
  • 13'
Drogba tries to find Anelka but he's put too much on the pass and the Frenchman can't chase it down. On the touchline Carlo Ancelotti barks instructions to his men who have looked a little sloppy in posession so far.
  • 11'
Villa waste the free-kick, sending it straight into Cech's arms and he quickly bowls the ball out to get Chelsea going forwards again.
  • 10'
Another foul this time by Ferreira who ends Ciaran Clark's forward run and Villa have a free-kick which they can pump into the Chelsea box.
  • 9'
Scrappy passage of play after first Ramires and then Anelka are penalised for niggly fouls. No real pattern to this match so far which may just suit the visitors.
  • 7'
Heskey wins the ball after another huge upfield punt and tries to find Ashley Young, complete with snood, but he can't quite get on the end of it and the ball runs harmlessly out of play for a goal kick.
  • 5'
Back come Chelsea. Drogba tries to dink a ball into Malouda but Cuellar just does enough to head the ball clear. However, Malouda wins the ball back and slams it goalwards, forcing Friedel to concede the corner which comes to nothing.
  • 4'
First chance of the match and it falls to Aston Villa. A huge hoof forwards gets a touch on by Heskey and falls to Agbonlahor who manages to get a snap shot away but it rolls narrowly wide of Cech's post.
  • 3'
Plenty of possession for the Blues in these opening minutes. The home side seemingly happy to ping the ball around, without really getting anywhere so far.
  • 1'
Emile Heskey and Ashley Young kick off for Aston Villa and we are underway at Stamford Bridge!
  • So the big news is that young Jeffrey Bruma starts for the Blues in defence. For the visitors, Emile Heskey returns up front to partner Gabriel Agbonlahor while Richard Dunne features in defence.
  • Aston Villa: Friedel; Cuellar, Collins, Dunne, Clark; Ashley Young, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Downing; Heskey, Agbonlahor. Subs: Marshall, Pires, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Bannan, Lichaj, Herd.
  • Chelsea: Cech; Ferreira, Bruma, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Essien, Lampard; Anelka, Drogba, Malouda. Subs: Turnbull, Bosingwa, Kalou, Sturridge, Van Aanholt, McEachran, Mellis.
  • Hello and welcome to Goal.com as we bring you live coverage of today’s Premier League clash between Chelsea and Aston Villa. Both sides are under pressure going into this game after some poor results. A win for the Blues will take them back into fourth whilst the visitors sit just a point above the drop zone and will surely welcome any kind of result having managed just one win in their last eight.
