Had no chance for the goal, but was virtually a spectator as Inter managed just two shots on target for the whole game.
The ex-Juventus and Milan man had a decent match at the heart of the defence, using all his experience to limit the influence of Pazzini and Milito. Showed good position and tackling.
Spent most of the time defending, and failed to offer much of a threat going forward. Enjoyed a nice duel with Maicon, but more often than not ended on the losing side.
Was not threatened in any way by Muntari or Nagatomo, and generally had a solid game. Caught sleeping as Cambiasso hammered in the opener.
Had his fair share of troubles against Maicon, allowing the right-back to cross under no pressure for the opener. Did not contribute much in attack, but improved in the second half.
The 27-year-old had a decent game, helping out in defence and contributing in attack. Tucked away the penalty, and started some very good attacks for his team.
The former Juventus man had a very good game as he was a genuine threat to Inter's slow defence. Scored a stunning goal and his passing was a joy to behold.
Gave Nagatomo hell on the wing as he bypassed the defender on countless occasions. Showed some great touches on the ball, and neat passing.
Had some inspiring moments against Nagatomo and Samuel as he showed superb technique, hunger and vision to create some good chances in the first half. Faded away after the break.
Showed good control of the ball, but his passes often found their targets in offside positions. His tackling was questionable as he failed to exert himself in the centre of the pitch.
Was forced to concede a penalty after his defence let him down, and pulled off two stunning saves to deny Delvecchio and Catellani in the second half. Was left with no chance for Almiron's stunner.
The captain was once again one of the best players on the pitch as he tried to lead his team, but his colleagues were simply not on the same wave. Worked hard to help out in defence, and was a threat going forward.
Based on his performance in this match, the veterans's days are numbered. Was too slow, and was often exposed by Gomez' trickery. His positioning was questionable as well.
Had a game to forget as he was guilty for Almiron's strike and partially responsible for the penalty as well. Left too much space in his zone for Catania to expose, and looked shaky whenever tested.
The Japanese defender offered nothing to justify his inclusion as he was a liability at the back for most of the game, and was no threat down the flank. Often beaten by Gomez, and responsible for Delvecchio's chance in the 75th minute.
The Brazilian started the game very well, bombing down the right to create the opener. He continued to be a threat later on, but was often caught up the field, and was guilty for Catellani's chance in the 82nd minute.
The Argentine started the game superbly, bagging a goal, which the Nerazzurri faithful hardly expected from him. Had a vibrant first half as he passed the ball around and bossed the midfield, but similar to his team-mates had an average second period.
The Serbian international had an indifferent game in the centre of the pitch as more often than not he failed to plug the hole in Inter's fragile defence. No sign of his thunderous shots in this match, either.
The ex-Udinese man had an abysmal game as he offered virtually no threat in the final third, and his defensive work was below par as well.
The Argentinian hitman had a timid came as his only contribution in this match were offsides and fouls. He is not likely to displace Diego Forlan from the starting XI with this kind of performance.
One would hardly believe he was even on the pitch. Had absolutely no impact whatsoever. Often strayed in an offside position, and generally had a game he would like to forget.
- 30 A. Campagnolo
Missed a sitter after coming on in an uneventful cameo.
- 20 F. Sciacca
- 7 D. Lanzafame
Failed to impress after entering the pitch for Gonzalo Bergessio.
Missed a one-on-one with Castellazzi, and this mistake could have cost his team the game. Luckily for him, Catania went on to win.
- 21 P. Orlandoni
- 42 Jonathan
He would normally played the role of villain for the Nerazzurri, but rest assured, he had a decent game. Was strong in the tackle.
The Argentine failed to make an impact after coming on for Dejan Stankovic.
- 8 Thiago Motta
- 30 L. Castaignos
The ex-Lazio man looked willing, but his performance was ruined by a dive, which earned him a yellow card.
