90' + 3'
Emenike cleverly keeps the ball in the corner and Max Gradel eventually gives away a foul. Nigeria get the free kick, that should be it!
90' + 1'
Four minutes of stoppage time. This will seem like an age to the Nigerians!
Yellow Card Vincent Enyeama
First change of the match from Nigeria. The impressive Victor Moses comes off for Joseph Yobo. His experience will be vital in these final moments!
Nigeria are doing well to break up the play here. They are patiently keeping possession in an attempt to run down the clock. Are we in line for a grandstand finish? Or will The Super Eagles progress to the semi-final?
Fantastic challenge from Mikel!! The ball breaks to Traore inside the area and he looks poised to shoot on goal, but the Chelsea man comes in to poke the ball away at the final moment! Great defending!
Ivory Coast are going for it now, and they have to! Lacina Traore comes on for Romaric. Attacker on for a defensive midfielder!
Gervinho clips a cross into the centre of the box and Toure attempts an acrobatic shot but a free kick is given against him for dangerous play. Frustration all round for the Elephants!
Yellow Card Sol Bamba
What will Nigeria's gameplan be now? After they scored in the first half they sat back, so will be they looking to shut up shop?
Assist Kenneth Omeruo
Goal Sunday Mba
GOOOOOOOOAAAAL FOR NIGERIA!!! Sunday Mba drives through the middle and drops the shoulder before shooting on goal. The ball bounces off the back of Sol Bamba and loops over Barry in the Ivory Coast goal! 2-1 to The Super Eagles!
Nigeria not out of this, though. With the quality they have, they will always be a threat in attacking areas.
Corner kick to Ivory Coast. Gradel gets down the left on the overlap and reverses a cross into the centre but the ball is cleared out. The Elephants looking the more likely here!
The match really is end-to end stuff here. Both sides are going for it! They don't want extra time! Still plenty of time to grab a goal.
Just under 20 minutes remaining now. A place in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations is up for grabs, and the tension is starting to build.
Ivory Coast make the first change of of the match. Max Gradel is introduced to the action in place of Salomon Kalou.
Great save by Enyeama!! Toure steps beyond Godfrey Oboabona and drives a powerful shot towards goal but the Nigeria 'keeper beats the ball away with a solid save!
IDEYE MISSES ANOTHER HEADER! Moses whips a superb corner kick to the back post and Ideye Brown has a free header but he node the ball straight down instead of towards goal!! Barry is eventually fouled and Ivory Coast breathe a sigh of relief.
The quality of the crossing in the match has been poor so far. Players are getting into decent positions on the wings but the final product has not been good enough.
Emanuel Eboue is currently down injury. The Galatasaray man just landed awkwardly as he was fouled and he is down holding his groin. The stretcher is on but it looks like he'll be okay.
Moses looks to dink the ball over the top of the Ivory Coast defence for Ideye but there is just too much pace on the ball and it floats out for a goa kick.
Kalou picks up the ball from Toure and bursts down the right-hand side but his final ball into the box is extremely poor. Nigeria easily clean up and work the ball up the park.
The corner is floated in but the referee blows his whistle for a free kick to the Ivory Coast. The official has been very picky about the hustle and bustle going on inside the box from set-pieces.
Moses drifts in from the right and clips a cross to the back post, but the ball eventually comes off Zokora and goes out for a corner kick.
Yaya Toure looks to exchange a one-two with Gervinho, but instead the Arsenal man turns and rifles a strike towards goal, but it is blocked by Omeruo.
Ivory Coast needed to start the second half at a much higher tempo and they have done exactly that. The Elephants are definitely on the ascendancy now.
Assist Didier Drogba
Goal Cheikh Tiote
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR IVORY COAST!!! Drogba clips a free kick to the back post and Tiote is there to bullet a header over the line for his first goal for his country! 1-1!
Kalou is booked for diving! The Lille man cuts inside and goes down under the challenge of Kenneth Omeruo but the referee rightfully shows him a yellow card!
Yellow Card Salomon Kalou
We are back under way in Rustenberg!
Half time in Rustenberg. A powerful strike from Emanuel Emenike is the difference between Ivory Coast and Nigeria in this Africa Cup of Nations quart-final. The Super Eagles have outplayed the Elephants so far and deservedly lead going into the break! Join us in 15 minutes for the second half!
Well, that looked like it was a fantastic strike from Emenike, and it was. However, Ivory Coast goalkeeper, Boubacar Barry, let the ball go straight through the middle of his hands. Very, very poor.
Assist John Obi Mikel
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR NIGERIA!!! WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE STRIKE!! The ball is laid off for Emenike 30 yards out and the Spartak man lashes a rocket past Barry in the Ivory Coast goal! 1-0 Nigeria!
Drogba smashes the free kick towards goal but the attempt bounces off the top of the wall and Enyeama eventually earns a free kick when he is nudged by Toure.
In almost a carbon copy of the previous foul. Mikel stands his ground against Toure and Ivory Coast get the free kick around 25 yards from goal.
Yellow Card Yaya Touré
Toure receives a booking for the foul on Moses.
A break in play at the moment as Victor Moses is currently down. The Nigerian was body-checked by Yaya Toure in the middle of the park. The Ivory Coast man is not exactly a player you want bouncing into you!
Awful, awful cross from Siaka Tiene. The left-back gets in a great position down the left and, with Drogba and Gervinho inside the box, blasts the ball out for a throw-in on the opposite side of the field.
The Manchester City midfielder floats the ball to the far post but again Nigeria remain solid and get the ball away. Another free kick from the Elephants that doesn't pose any threat whatsoever.
Another set-ipiece opportunity for Ivory Coast after Gervinho is fouled while attempting to drift inside. Yaya Toure will take the free kick.
There is a real lack of urgency in Ivory Coast's play. They have had a fair amount of possession but the tempo of their passing is extremely slow, and as a result, Nigeria have been able to defend relatively comfortably so far.
First booking of the match goes to Ogenyi Onanzi. The Nigeria man cynically brought down Kalou on the left wing. Deserved yellow.
Yellow Card Ogenyi Onazi
Terrible miss from Emenike!!! Moses slips a neat pass into the box for the Spartak man but he horribly slices the ball high and wide when he had the whole goal in which to aim! Best chance of the match so far goes begging!
The corner is whipped in towards the near post and Drogba looks to flick the ball on but Nigeria eventually scramble the ball away. The Elephants are starting to feel their way more into the match now.
TIOTE!!! He picks up the ball from some way out and lashes a strike at goal but Enyeama turns the ball round the post for a corner. We have seen him score goals from that distance for Newcastle!
Moses takes an intelligent quick free kick towards Emenike on the right-hand channel but the Spartak Moscow man isn't on his toes and the ball goes out for a goal kick. Good idea but the execution wasn't there.
Poor pass from Kalou! The former Chelsea man picks up the ball in a great central position put his pass towards Drogba is way off the mark and the Nigeria get the goal kick.
Ivory Coast are yet to get going here. Drogba, Kalou, and Gervinho have had a few touches up top but Enyeama in the Nigeria goal has not been tested at all so far.
Ideye Brown gets on the end of another Moses set-piece but again his header goes wayward. It was good defending from Eboue, who just done enough to put off the Nigeria attacker.
Another free kick to Nigeria in a useful position. This time Mba is the man who is brought down on the wing.
Romaric whips in a corner kick from the right-hand side and Sol Bamba attempts an acrobatic bicycle kick at the front post, but the attempt goes way over the bar. He isn't really known for his goalscoring ability!
The Super Eagles have started the better of the sides here. You feel that they have to make the most of this period as Ivory Coast will likely feel their way back into the match.
Emenike just gets crowded out inside the box and Ivory Coast impressively play their way out of defence and up the park.
What a strike from Moses!! The Chelsea man picks up the ball 25 yards from goal and lashes a powerful shot towards goal but Barry manages to palm the ball away! Good save as there was a lot of venom in that attempt!
Victor Moses floats a cross to the back post and Ideye rises high to head towards goal but his attempt goes a few yards over the bar and doesn't bother goalkeeper, Barry.
Eboue currently down after a tussle with Ideye Brown. The former Arsenal man just suffered a slight blow to the face but it looks like he'll be okay. Free kick to the Elephants.
Tiene steps up and whips the set-piece towards goal but it bounces off the top of the Nigeria wall and bounces out for a throw-in. Ivory Coast should have made much more of that.
Free kick to Ivory Coast after Drogba goes down. This is in a very useful position so they should be looking to get a shot on goal.
Good start to the match from Ivory Coast. Already we are seeing glimpses of their impressive one-touch passing in tight areas.
This has been billed by many as a potential match of the tournament. We have plenty of talent on show, so let's see what the likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, and John Obi Mikel can muster up.
We are under way!
