  • My name's Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing all of the action to you today. Until next time, goodbye!
  • Manchester United now face Queens Park Rangers in two weeks' time after the international break, whilst Burnley travel to London to play Crystal Palace, who, after today's impressive performance, Sean Dyche will most certainly believe that they can beat.
  • Louis Van Gaal is still without a win this season after another frustrating performance from his struggling side. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't find a way through a resolute and well-organised Burnley back four, and Sean Dyche will no doubt be over the moon with how his team performed today.
  • FULL-TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED
  • 90' + 4'
Again, Manchester United try to find a way through the Burnley back line down the right hand wing but, again, the hosts are able to cut out the danger.
  • 90' + 2'
Burnley continue to hold on with plenty of men behind the ball. Fletcher tries to carve open the defence with a curling cross into the box but Heaton is easily able to collect the ball, bringing an end to another Manchester United attack.

The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.

  • 87'
    SubstitutionJuan Mata Adnan Januzaj

Penalty shout from Manchester United! The visitors win a corner which finally ends up with Young on the edge of the penalty area. He fires in a shot that seems to hit Barnes on the hand, but the referee, Chris Foy, shakes his head and waves play on.
  • 85'
Mata has pulled up and it looks as if he has pulled his hamstring. He's trying to continue for the time being but has indicated to the Manchester United bench that he's struggling.
  • 84'
Once again, Valencia is involved in a good Manchester United move down the right wing but his attempted cross is poor and it flies out for a Burnley goal-kick.
  • 82'
Manchester United are throwing as many bodies forward as possible, whilst Burnley, who will clearly be delighted if they come away with a point today, have put as many men as possible behind the ball as the full-time whistle approaches.
  • 80'
Another good chance for Manchester United. Young breaks down the left wing before sending a ball into Welbeck, who turns and tees up Mata, but his shot is wild and it clears the crossbar by some distance.
  • 78'
    SubstitutionDanny Ings Ashley Barnes
  • 78'
Valencia's attempted cross from the right flank is headed out for a corner, which is sent towards Rooney at the back post. He loses his marker and finds himself completely unmarked, but he's unable to make clean contact with the ball and his headed effort goes wide of the goal.
  • 77'
Manchester United are trying everything they can to find a way through the Burnley defence but the well-organised back line is proving far too congested for the visitors.
  • 76'
    Yellow CardDean Marney

    SubstitutionRobin van Persie Danny Welbeck
  • 73'
Mata sends a delightful long pass towards Rooney, who heads the ball down into the path of Van Persie. Unfortunately for the Dutchman, Trippier is there too, and the Burnley defender is able to outmuscle him before he can get a shot away.
  • 72'
Valencia sends in a lovely cross but it's just too high for Rooney, who, despite his best efforts, is unable to get a head on the ball.
  • 70'
    SubstitutionÁngel Di María Anderson
  • 70'
Anderson is warming up on the sidelines and it looks as if he's going to be replacing Di Maria, who has put in a fantastic shift today.
  • 68'
    Yellow CardTyler Blackett
  • 68'
A poor challenge on Ings by Blackett leads to a yellow card for the Manchester United defender and a free-kick for Burnley. It's whipped into the box where it finds Arfield, who sets up Taylor, but the former West Ham United man's shot is weak and De Gea is able to save it comfortably.
  • 66'
To the relief of the Manchester United supporters, it seems as if Di Maria has recovered after a few moments on the side of the pitch.
  • 65'
Di Maria has gone down holding his right leg. It looks as if it's cramp, which is certainly what the Manchester United fans will be hoping it is.
  • 63'
Manchester United patiently work their way towards the Burnley goal before Mata fires a deep cross towards Young, but it's far too heavy and it misses his teammate's head before bouncing out for a corner.
  • 61'

  • 58'
Burnley are enjoying a good spell of possession at the moment. This time, Marney embarks on a marauding run down the right flank before earning his side a corner. It's sent towards Duff at the back post but he fouls Jones in the process of trying to get a head on the ball, and the visitors are awarded a free-kick.
  • 56'
Mee unleashes a thumping volley from 25 yards out but his rather excitable effort fails to test De Gea and flies well wide of the goal.
  • 54'
Patient build-up by Manchester United in the middle of the field, but they're finding it difficult to find a way past a very well-organised Burnley side.
  • 52'
Evans dispossesses Taylor down the right wing before offloading the ball to Valencia. • 50'
Taylor battles with Valencia down the left wing before trying to send a cross into the box but he loses his footing at the last moment and it goes flying out for a goal-kick.
  • 48'

  • 47'
Burnley break away on an early quick attack but Jutkiewicz is dispossessed by Evans before he is unable to get a shot away.
  • 46'
    And we're off once again!
  • The two sides are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions.
  • After a frantic opening five minutes in which Burnley were easily the best of the two sides, Manchester United slowly but surely found their way back into the game and have had some impressive periods of play when attacking. However, they continue to look poor in defence, and Burnley easily could have gone into the half-time break 1-0 ahead. Di Maria was arguably Manchester United's best player in the first half but his side's final passes continue to let them down, with Duff and Shackell - the latter in the particular - comfortably being able to contain the visitors' forwards.
  • HALF-TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Blackett loses possession and almost allows Burnley to break away on a quick attack but he's able to atone for his errors by cutting out the danger moments later. Manchester United still look like they're struggling in defence.
  • 34'
Great skill by Arfield! He beats Blackett with a nutmeg and darts into the box before unleashing a shot on goal, but it's deflected out for a corner.
  • 33'
Manchester United's sloppiness in midfield has seemingly returned, as Di Maria's attempted pass to Young on the left wing is far too heavy and it flies out of play for a Burnley throw-in.

Rooney almost tees up Van Persie just inside the Burnley penalty area but Shackell dives in the cut out the danger before doing so again moments later to deny Mata.

  • 5'
A terrible back-pass from Evans almost allows Jutkiewicz the opportunity to go one-on-one with De Gea but the Spaniard is just about able to cut out the danger. Manchester United have looked far from settled in these opening five minutes.
  • 4'
It hits the bar! Jones sends a beautiful curling shot towards the top of the goal but it smacks the crossbar and bounces out of play. If it was just a few inches lower, Burnley would be 1-0 ahead.
  • 3'
Trippier sends a dangerous cross into the heart of the box and it's half cleared by Evans. The ball drops to Jutkiewicz on the edge of the penalty area where he is bundled over by Jones, earning the hosts a free-kick in a dangerous position.
  • 1'
And we're off! Manchester United, in their white and black away kit, get us underway, kicking from right-to-left.
  • The teams are making their way out onto the pitch ahead of kick-off. The atmosphere at Turf Moor is fantastic, with both sets of fans in fine voice.
  • As expected, Louis Van Gaal has made two changes to the side that drew 1-1 against Sunderland last weekend, with Evans replacing the injured Smalling in defence, whilst Cleverley makes way for new signing Di Maria, who starts in the heart of the Manchester United midfield.

  • Manchester United XI (3-4-1-2): De Gea; Jones, Evans, Blackett; Valencia, Fletcher, Di Maria, Young; Mata; Van Persie, Rooney.
  • Burnley substitutes: Gilks, Reid, Ward, Wallace, Long, Barnes, Sordell.
  • Burnley XI (4-4-2): Heaton; Trippier, Shackell, Duff, Mee; Arfield, Marney, Jones, Taylor; Jutkiewicz, Ings.
  • There's just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let's have a look at how the two teams will be lining up today…
  • As for Burnley, the Premier League's new boys have lost both of their opening games of the season but did so in impressive style, showing great grit and determination against both Chelsea and Swansea City. With Manchester United in such turmoil at the moment, they will no doubt be quietly confident that they will be able to pull off an upset here today and, quite possibly, recreate their fantastic 1-0 win against the Red Devils almost exactly five years ago.
  • Life under Louis Van Gaal continues to be a struggle, and one that shows few signs of improving anytime soon. After poor results in their opening two games of the season, the Manchester United fans' nervousness about the campaign ahead was further exacerbated by Tuesday evening's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of League One side Milton Keynes Dons in the Capital One Cup, leaving many wondering where a desperately needed first win of the season might come from. Today's clash is, on paper, their best chance to pick up three points but, as has been the case in recent weeks, there are no easy wins when it comes to Manchester United. However, they will be boosted by the acquisition of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, and the Argentine could play a vital role in finally kickstarting Manchester United's season after a poor August.
  • Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today's Premier League clash between Burnley and Manchester United. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up-to-date with all of the action from Turf Moor.
