The referee blows his whistle for the final time and the stadium erupts into shouts of joy! Dortmund were forced on to the back foot for the majority of the game and were put under an incredible amount of presure by the visitors, who kept pushing forward but just couldn't seem to find a way past their resolute and well-organised opponents, no matter what they tried to do.
FULL-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-0 BAYERN MUNICH
90' + 4' Another hopeful lofted pass is flung forward, but this time Lewandowski is caught offside and that should be that for Dortmund. It's been a tough and disappointing night for Bayern, and it looks as if it's going to end in a first league defeat of the season.
90' + 3' What an opportunity for Lewandowski! Hummels picks up the ball and whips a wonderful cross into the heart of the penalty area, where it finds Lewandowski, but the Polish striker somehow ends up sending his close-range headed effort bouncing agonisingly wide of the near post. He really should have buried that!
90' + 2' Castro steps up and sends the free-kick short to Ramos, who, unsurprisingly, holds up the ball deep down the left flank before doing well to win his side a throw-in. Can Dortmund hold on for two minutes to pick up what would be an excellent victory?
Renato Sanches
Yellow Card
Bayern München
90' + 1' Pulisic breaks down the left flank as he tries to hit Bayern on a quick counter-attack, but Sanches is there to push the Dortmund youngster to the ground to give away a needless free-kick and pick up a late yellow card.
90' The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.
89' Ball after ball is flung into the middle of the Dortmund penalty area, but each one is dealt with by the home side. They have every available body back and are doing well to hold on to their slender lead.
C. Pulisic
M. Schmelzer
Borussia Dortmund
88' Dortmund have made a late change, with Schmelzer, who looks to have picked up an injury off the ball, making way for Pulisic.
F. Ribéry
Yellow Card
Bayern München
88' Meanwhile, Ribery has also been booked for his behaviour.
A. Ramos
Yellow Card
Borussia Dortmund
88' Ramos receives a yellow card for his part in the coming together.
87' It's all kicking off! There's a coming together between both sets of players, with Ramos and Ribery the two who started the fracas. The referee is quick to get involved and separates the two before talking to the linesman nearest to the action to find out what it was all about.
86' Bayern work the ball around well before Thiago picks it up on the edge of the Dortmund box. He spots a run forward from Muller and tries to pick out the forward, but Sokratis is there to out-muscle the German and shepherd the ball out for a goal-kick.
84' Muller breaks down the right wing and latches on to a bouncing pass forward before fizzing a volleyed cross into the middle of the Dortmund penalty area, but, not for the first time this evening, Lewandowski ends up missing the ball by a yard or so.
82' Alaba rushes down the left wing and cuts inside before sending a looping cross into the penalty area and towards Lewandowski, but it's slightly overhit by the full-back and ends up sailing straight into the hands of Burki.
80' Weigl holds up the ball deep down the right flank before being clattered into by both Thiago and Ribery, resulting in a free-kick for the hosts in a dangerous position. It's whipped into the box and finds Sokratis before bouncing back out to Castro, but the midfielder's audacious, long-range effort fails to trouble Neuer and sails over the top of the crossbar.
79' Castro charges down the right wing before trying to pick out Ramos, but his pass bounces off a red shirt and out for a throw-in near to the corner flag. It's sent short and worked over to Ramos, and the Colombian takes his time on the ball before winning his side yet another throw-in as they try to waste some time.
78' Alaba breaks into the left-hand side of the Dortmund box and beats his marker with ease before chipping a cross towards Lewandowski. It's sent behind the striker, however, and is easily thumped away from danger by Schmelzer under very little pressure.
G. Castro
M. Götze
Borussia Dortmund
77' Gotze makes his way off the pitch to be replaced by Castro for the final 13 minutes of the game.
75' Bayern push plenty of bodies forward as they desperately try to find a late equaliser, but they have to settle for yet another corner. It's curled into the heart of the penalty area and almost finds Hummels, but the ball ends up flying just a yard or so over the head of the defender and out for a goal-kick.
Renato Sanches
Xabi Alonso
Bayern München
74' Bayern have made their final alteration of the evening, with Alonso making way for Sanches.
72' The corner is fired into the middle of the Bayern box by Gotze and finds Aubameyang in a good position, but as soon as the ball drops to him, he's closed down and fails to beat the wall of red shirts camped in front of him.
71' Huge miss by Aubameyang! An awful touch by Alonso allows the goalscorer to fly past Hummels and Boateng before penetrating the Bayern penalty area, but he ends up sending his close-range strike straight at Neuer and out for a corner.
69' Durm breaks forward and gets himself into a good position over on the left flank before taking on Costa, who drags back the Dortmund substitute and gives away a free-kick that, unsurprisingly, the home side take their time with.
Rafinha
P. Lahm
Bayern München
68' Bayern have made their second change of the game, with Lahm making way for Rafinha.
E. Durm
A. Schürrle
Borussia Dortmund
68' Meanwhile, Durm has come on to replace Schurrle for Dortmund.
66' Costa gets himself into a good position just outside of the Dortmund box after cutting inside from the right wing, but his swinging, left-footed effort fails to test Burki and ends up sailing a yard or so over the top of the crossbar.
64' Dortmund, have largely been on the back foot since the break, push forward on a rare attacking move before winning themselves a corner. It's flung in by Schurrle and bounces around the penalty area before falling to Ramos, but the striker is unable to make contact with his head and Bayern just about manage to hold on.
62' Alonso hits the crossbar! The Spaniard picks up the ball just outside of the Dortmund box and immediately unleashes a thumping, side-footed strike, but his effort ends up ricocheting off the woodwork after leaving Burki rooted to the spot in the middle of the goal.
60' Hummels goes close! Bayern win themselves a corner over on the right flank, and it's flung right into the middle of the penalty area. Sokratis' attempted clearance flies up into the air and down to Hummels, but the centre-back's quick shot ends up being deflected out for another corner.
Douglas Costa
J. Kimmich
Bayern München
58' Bayern have made their first substitution of the night, and it's an attacking one, with Kimmich making way for Costa.
57' A lovely low pass from Alonso finds Lewandowski in a great position inside the Dortmund box, but the striker is unable to make decent contact with the ball and ends up sending it rolling into the hands of Burki before he can get a shot away.
56' Ribery scores, but it's ruled out for offside! Muller twists and turns deep down the right flank and cuts past Schmelzer before setting up Ribery. The Frenchman is unmarked and front of goal and easily beats Burki with a beautiful back-heeled flick, but the linesman's flag is raised as soon as the ball hits the back of the net.
55' Lahm cuts inside from the right wing and tees up Lewandowski on the edge of the Dortmund box, but the striker is unable to beat Bartra and the centre-back does well to deal with the danger before poking the ball back to Burki.
53' Ramos breaks into the right-hand side of the Bayern penalty area and beats Hummels before trying to tee up Aubameyang, but the centre-back is just about able to get a foot on the ball to send it out for a corner. The set-piece is whipped in by Schurrle, but Hummels is there to deal with it once again.
52' Muller and Ribery link up well on the edge of the Dortmund penalty area before the latter tries to poke a pass into the path of Lewandowski, but, under pressure from three defenders, he puts far too much power behind it and sends the ball rolling out for a goal-kick.
M. Götze
Yellow Card
Borussia Dortmund
50' A dangerous cross from Lahm looks set to find Lewandowski in an excellent position in front of goal, but an outstretched arm from Burki sends the ball away from the striker and kick-starts a Dortmund counter-attack. The hosts work the ball forward nicely before Gotze picks it up on the edge of the Bayern box, but he loses possession and ends up catching Ribery with a late challenge.
49' Another chance for Aubameyang! Schmelzer is left in a pocket of space over on the left-hand side of the Bayern box and is able to lift a cross right on to the head of Aubameyang, but his effort ends up looping just a yard or so over the top of the crossbar.
48' Alaba patiently makes his way down the left flank before sending a good cross over to Lewandowski, but the Poland international's effort from inside the box is sent straight at Burki and fails to beat the goalkeeper at the near post.
47' Vital block by Boateng! Dortmund immediately push forward on an early attack before Schurrle pokes a lovely pass into the Bayern penalty area and towards Aubameyang, but the latter's close-range shot is deflected away by Boateng before it can test Neuer.
46' And we're underway once again!
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
It's been a tough and relentless first half for Dortmund, who have been on the back foot since going ahead, but they've just about managed to hold on to head into the break with a well-deserved one-goal lead. Bayern have been all over the hosts but seem to be lacking to intensity needed to test the sea of yellow and black shirts camped in front of them, leaving Lewandowski and Muller thoroughly frustrated.
HALF-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-0 BAYERN MUNICH
45' + 1' Another determined run forward from Lewandowski results in a corner for Bayern, but again Dortmund do well to deal with it. The visitors come back once again through Alonso, who curls a cross right on to the head of Hummels, but the defender's effort loops straight into the hands of Burki.
45' The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44' Kimmich almost equalises for Bayern! A low cross from Lewandowski is cut out by Sokratis, but the centre-back can only poke his clearance straight to Kimmich. It deflects off the midfielder's thigh and bounces towards goal, but it ends up clearing the near post by a yard or so.
43' Bayern come back once again, this time through Ribery, and win themselves yet another corner. This time it's whipped into the middle of the penalty area, but Schmelzer is there to head the ball out of the box. It falls nicely for Thiago, but the midfielder's first-time strike ends up sailing comfortably wide of the far post.
42' Ginter and Lewandowski battle for the ball deep inside the home side's box before the latter wins Bayern a corner. It's taken quickly and sent short, but the hosts are easily able to deal with the danger thanks to quick thinking from Schurrle.
41' Lewandowski charges into the Dortmund penalty area and heads towards the byline before spinning and poking a pass back to Muller. The latter is in a great position and looks set to shoot, but Weigl dives in front of him at the vital moment to stop him from doing so.
40' Super effort by Thiago! A wonderful lofted pass from Alonso flies over to right-hand side of the Dortmund penalty area and finds Lahm, who immediately volleys a cross over to Thiago. The Spaniard rises high and pulls off a wonderfully athletic overhead kick, but it's slightly mistimed and fails to test Burki.
38' Dortmund, who have largely been on the back foot since Aubameyang gave them an early lead, try to break out on a quick counter-attack through Schmelzer, but the wing-back misplaces his pass towards Ramos and gifts possession back to Bayern on the halfway line.
36' Alaba and Ribery link up brilliantly deep down the left flank before the latter whips a low cross into the middle of the Dortmund box and towards Lewandowski, but once again Sokratis is there to cut out the danger at the vital moment.
35' Hummels spots a forward run from Muller and tries to pick him out with a well-placed lofted pass over the top of the Dortmund back line, but Sokratis darts back to deal with the danger before the ball can find its intended target.
33' Muller breaks down the right wing as, once again, Barta is beaten far too easily, but this time it's the German forward who sends a poor pass away from every available red shirt and into the hands of Burki.
32' Chance for Hummels! Ribery is clattered into by Weigl and wins a free-kick for Bayern over on the left flank. Alonso steps up and whips a lovely cross into the heart of the Dortmund box, but Hummels' header is sent straight into the hands of Burki in the middle of the goal.
31' Poor pass by Lewandowski! The striker does well to beat Barta with another great run into the Dortmund penalty area before poking a pass over to Muller, but it's overhit and is cut out by Ginter before it can find the Bayern forward.
29' Ramos and Schurrle link up well on the edge of the Bayern penalty area before the latter fizzes a low cross-cum-shot towards the far post, but it fails to find the Colombian and ends up trickling safelty into the hands of Neuer.
27' Lewandowski beats Bartra before being dragged to the ground, but the centre-back isn't shown a second yellow card, despite the protests from the Bayern players. The visitors send the set-piece short before working the ball over to Kimmich, but his low cross fails to find Alaba in front of goal.
25' Ribery picks up the ball just outside of the Dortmund box before poking a great pass into the path of Kimmich inside the penalty area. The midfielder gets himself into a good position in front of goal but is dispossessed by Schmelzer just as he's about to make contact with the ball.
24' Thiago breaks through the Dortmund back line and latches on to a great lofted pass forward from Hummels, but his run is slightly mistimed and the linesman's flag is raised as soon as the Spaniard makes contact with the ball in an acre of space.
22' Alaba comes back once again as he penetrates the Dortmund penalty area before trying to pick out Muller in front of goal, but the latter is put under pressure by Sokratis at the vital moment and is unable to make decent contact with the ball on the edge of the six-yard box.
21' Lewandowski breaks into the left-hand side of the Dortmund penalty area and wins his side a corner. The set-piece fails to trouble the home side before Alaba picks up the ball over on the left wing, but his low cross takes a deflection that sends it bouncing straight into the hands of Burki at the near post.
20' Great opportunity for Schurrle! Aubameyang skips past Hummels far too easily before firing a cross into the path of Schurrle, who immediately unleashes a thumping half-volley. It's brilliantly hit but fails to beat Neuer after being sent straight at the Bayern goalkeeper.
Bartra
Yellow Card
Borussia Dortmund
19' After just about managing to deal with Gotze's chance, Bayern try to fly forward on a counter-attack of their own, but Bartra ends up flying into Muller and brings the forward crashing to the ground with a hefty sliding challenge that sees him receive a yellow card.
18' Gotze goes close! Sloppy play from Thiago gifts the ball to Dortmund, and they immediately hit Bayern on a quick counter-attack. They work the ball around quickly before Gotze takes on Neuer, but his chipped cross-cum-shot past Neuer fails to find the back of the net and is thumped away by Alaba.
17' Schmelzer breaks down the left flank on a great run and beats Lahm with ease before chipping a dangerous cross towards Ramos, who is in a good position in front of goal, but it's sent slightly too near to Neuer and the goalkeeper is able to cut out the danger.
15' Alaba darts down the left wing on a marauding run before firing an awkward low cross into the heart of the Dortmund penalty area, but Sokratis is just about able to get a toe on the pass to send it away from both Lewandowski and Ribery and over to the opposite flank.
13' Ribery muscles his way through a sea of yellow and black shirts before teeing up Lewandowski on the edge of the Dortmund penalty area, but Piszczek is there to dispossess the Polish striker just as it looked as if he was going to unleash a shot.
P. Aubameyang
Goal
Borussia Dortmund
11' GOAL! Dortmund have taken the lead! The ball pinballs around the Bayern penalty area before falling to Gotze, who quickly pokes a low pass past Hummels and into the path of Aubameyang, who, unmarked in front of goal, is easily able to poke the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the six-yard box.

Assist
Borussia Dortmund
11' Gotze did wonderfully well to set up Aubameyang with a great cross, but questions have to be asked of the Bayern defence, who didn't well enough to deal with either of the Dortmund forwards.
9' A sloppy pass from Hummels is easily cut out by Gotze, who then powers forward and tees up Aubameyang. The latter then tries to pick out the former Bayern man once again with a chipped pass into the box, but Hummels does well to get back to deal with the danger.
7' Dortmund battle for the ball down the right flank as they keep trying to put pressure on Bayern, but Ginter is fouled and the home side are awared another free-kick. This time it's thumped forward, but Hummels is there to beat Aubameyang to the ball on the edge of the box.
5' Ramos is pushed to the ground on the halfway line and Dortmund are awarded a free-kick. It's taken quickly and worked over to Piszczek, but the full-back's curling cross into the middle of the box fails to pick out a yellow and black shirt in front of goal.
4' A poor pass from Muller is picked up by Aubameyang, and the striker immediately flies forward on a great counter-attack. He heads towards the Bayern penalty area before poking the ball over to Ramos, who then tries to nod it down to Schurrle, but Lahm is there to cut out the danger at the vital moment.
2' Gotze immediately clatters into Ribery and gives away a free-kick over on the left wing. It's thumped into the penalty area by Alonso and almost finds Hummels, but the centre-back is beaten to the ball by a sea of yellow and black shirts.
1' And we're off! Bayern get us underway, attacking from right to left.
The two sides are making their way out on to the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off. The atmosphere inside the stadium is electric, with both sets of fans in fine voice.
Meanwhile, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has also made five alterations to the team that featured against Hoffenheim in their last outing, with Rafinha, Juan Bernat, Arturo Vidal, Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa making way for Philipp Lahm, David Alaba, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery, the latter of whom is back in the side after almost two months out.
Thomas Tuchel has decided to make five changes to the Dortmund side that started the victory against Hamburg before the international break, with Julian Weigl, Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle, Marcel Schmelzer and Adrian Ramos coming into the starting line-up to replace Sebastian Rode, Gonzalo Castro, Raphael Guerreiro, Emre Mor and Christian Pulisic, respectively.
Bayern Munich substitutes: Ulreich, Rafinha, Bernat, Badstuber, Sanches, Green, Costa.
Bayern Munich XI (4-3-3): Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba; Thiago, Alonso, Kimmich; Muller, Lewandowski, Ribery.
Borussia Dortmund substitutes: Weidenfeller, Durm, Sahin, Castro, Pulisic, Kagawa, Dembele.
Borussia Dortmund XI (3-1-4-2): Burki; Ginter, Sokratis, Bartra; Weigl; Piszczek, Gotze, Schurrle, Schmelzer; Ramos, Aubameyang.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
The last meeting between the two sides in the Super Cup back in August resulted in a 2-0 win for Bayern, and it’s now a year and a half since Dortmund last beat their rivals, albeit on penalties in the semi-final of the 2014-15 DFB-Pokal. Thomas Tuchel is yet to taste success against the reigning Bundesliga champions, with his first Der Klassiker ending in a 5-1 defeat.
Bayern are yet to lose in the league this season, but they’ve been far from their best under new boss Carlo Ancelotti. They’ve lacked bite and tempo thus far and haven’t been anywhere near as destructive as they were under Pep Guardiola, which was evident in their 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim two weeks ago.
Whilst Dortmund have only lost once in their last nine games, their 5-2 win away to bottom side Hamburg just before the international break was their first in the Bundesliga since the end of September. An underwhelming start to the season has left them in a disappointing sixth place, nine points behind Leipzig and six away from Bayern. It’s safe to say that a victory here today would go a long way to calming the nerves of the Dortmund faithful.
It’s time for Der Klassiker once again, and this time the stakes are arguably higher than they ever have been for both sides. Bayern currently find themselves in second place in the table, but it’s not Dortmund that are causing them problems but newly-promoted RB Leipzig, who have taken the Bundesliga by storm. As a result, a third consecutive victory against their rivals is desperately needed if they are to avoid falling behind the league’s current pacesetters.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Bundesliga game between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich at Signal Iduna Park.
