Proved a steady pair of hands for his side with some assured handling from set pieces and was not afraid to contest balls into the area with Dzeko or Negredo. Had no chance with the Spaniard's opener.
Was in the right place at the right time to tuck home his side's equaliser. Was a revelation in the air with Negredo and Dzeko both struggling to win the aerial duels. Led his side by example.
Never looked like an attacking threat and was wary of the space he could afford to the likes of Silva and Milner if he did venture forward. A calm head on the ball but could have offered more at both ends.
A lot of the play came down his flank as City looked to get it wide. Did not offer much offensively due to Clichy's forward raids but stuck to his task and made some important challenges.
Was involved in a bizarre scuffle with his own team-mate Taylor on the stroke of half-time but was solid throughout and appeared to relish the challenge of playing up against Negredo and Dzeko.
Did not always make the right decisions going forward and did not show enough willingness to track back when his side needed him most. That said, did produce some wonderful deliveries and tricks out wide.
Tenacious and battled so hard for his side in midfield, getting in City's faces time and time again and winning a number of important battles in the air to starve City of space and time.
The incident with Hanley did not seem to impact on the performance of Rovers' attacking midfielder, who was as industrious and stuck in as ever. Truly committed performance despite losing Dzeko for the goal.
Showed terrific energy reserves to keep going, often chasing shadows in his quest to win back possession. Showed a desire to get forward and support Gestede but helped to stymie the attacking threat of City.
Superb display from the promising young midfielder, who was the architect of everything good about Blackburn's football. Kept the ball well and always seemed to come out of tight corners with the ball still at his feet.
The ultimate workhorse performance from the Rovers striker, who chased every lost cause and battled hard against Lescott and Nastasic. Had a key contribution in his side's goal, when his towering header was spilled and then turned home. Rhodes replaced him after his tireless outing.
Nervous throughout, the Romanian will have done little to convince Pellegrini of his worth for the No.1 jersey at the club. Spilled Gestede's header to present Dann with the equaliser.
Looked out of sorts at right-back and struggled against the pace of Rovers' wingers. Often failed to track runners and could not support Milner in his efforts going forward. His bad day at the office was compounded with a red card in the second period. Poor from start to finish.
A solid if not spectacular display from the Frenchman. There were not enough attacking ventures, but he was let down by a lack of service. Marked Marshall out of the game at times though and was rarely caught out.
Looked awkward at times when challenging Gestede but kept City ticking over at the back with some assured passing. Right to feel content with his day's work on the whole.
Largely composed, showing a vast array of passing out from the back and did not look fazed in any way at the challenge of quietening Gestede. That said, he completely mistimed his jump when the Blackburn forward headed towards goal for the leveller.
Woeful. Lost out in just about every challenge he attempted and was on the periphery of the game for almost the entirety of it. Did not look up to the task against a determined Blackburn outfit.
Passed the ball around with minimal fuss but offered nothing going in either direction. The game appeared to pass him by at times and did not offer enough of protection to the defence when called upon in the tackle.
Pulled the strings for City but was disciplined too in getting back to support his midfield team-mates. Set up some wonderful openings for his side but could have offered more support at times to the weary looking duo of Negredo and Dzeko.
His passing was slack and some of his touches bounced out of play but you cannot fault his endeavour. Constantly worked back to support Boyata and Clichy.
Kept trying to get at the Rovers backline and was thwarted on several occasions by Robinson. His leap for the goal was excellent and he showed a determination some of his team-mates sadly lacked.
Struggled to assert his physical dominance and was often outmuscled but took his goal superbly and worked hard on the whole for his side.
Offered Rovers an outlet up top but was not always sharp enough to latch on to the balls launched upfield towards him.
Went close with a downward header but could not get the better of the City defence during his cameo role.
Introduced midway through the second period to inject some much-needed pace out wide. Showed Boyata a clean pair of heels on several occasions and unsettled the City defence.
Did not contribute much during his time on the pitch.
Squandered a great opening upon his arrival, screwing wide after being released down the left. Added pace but little end product to the attack.
Gave City a steely edge in the middle of the park but did not always make the right choice on the ball. Drove his side forward and almost scored with an acrobatic scissor kick which flew over the bar.
