M. Gómez 38', 45'+
Well that second half performance from City was absolutely toothless and they deserved everything they got. Strange decisions from Mancini on personnel and the team were just outclassed.

It's not often that you get surprised when City get forward and have a shot but Kolarov finds some space in the area before dragging his shot wide. As good as it has been all second half.
Ribery comes off to a standing ovation and he has been excellent. He is replaced by the equally brilliant Robben.
The game has completely petered out now as the home fans continue to sing to their hearts content. City cannot wait to get away from here.
Finally an injection of enthusiasm from City in the form of Kolarov as he is willing to run at defenders, something which hasn't been common place for the Manchester club in the second half.
Bayern appear to have taken their foot off the gas for now as they seem content for a 2-0 win. Has playing in Europe's premier competition taken its toll on City already?
Yellow CardKolo Toure
Bayern have looked the part this evening and all this without Arjen Robben. Another good save from Hart and he has had a good game this evening.
Yellow CardYaya Touré
Men against boys springs to mind here. I'm not sure you'd be able to see a worse City performance than this second half all season. They look absolutely bereft of any ideas and are just hoping the game finishes soon.
For a team that wanted to challenge on all four fronts this season you don't often see them chase shadows quite in the same way that they have been made to do in the second half. This is just far too easy. The blameless Hart makes another good save from a long range Schweinsteiger shot.
Milner comes on for Nasri to end a pretty miserable night for the Frenchman. Perhaps Milner can inject some energy into the game because City need something.
Yellow CardGael Clichy
That picture tells the whole story, the camera pans towards Mancini who is staring at the floor while the match passes his team by.
City are looking every bit the first year Champions League team here and they are absolutely devoid of any creativity here. Bayern have them at arms length here.
This second half performance is absolutely incredible from City, they cannot get hold of the ball and they look lost. Bayern are heading forward again and again, they might even be annoyed not to be more goals up.
Dezko is still absolutely fuming with Mancini at having been brought off and now the manager has started arguing with Tevez. All is not good in the City camp.
Probably should be 3-0 and a hat trick for Gomez and City are being run absolutely ragged here. The ball is played across the goal and Gomez is unmarked from five yards but he skews wide. City haven't got anything in reply just yet.
Nigel De Jong
Well this is a strange move to say the least. Dzeko, the main striker is being taken off for Nigel De Jong while they are chasing the game. David Platt said at half time that the team needed to build from a solid base but this isn't what he meant surely?
Bayern are having it all their own way now and City's players are looking like they can't take the pace. Surely the games can't be taking their toll already?
Bayern defending quite easily at the moment and City probably need to gamble because the home side are controlling proceedings in the middle of the pitch.
No changes from either team at half time so City content to bide their time and not looking to panic into a decision.
Here we go for the second half then. What can City do in reply. Gomez by the way has now scored 50 goals in his last 46 Bayern games, which is pretty good.
What an eventful half. City could have had a couple of penalties and could have conceded one in what was a decent performance for 30 minutes. Since then it has been one way traffic and poor defending has allowed Gomez to score twice past the helpless Joe Hart.

GOOOAAALLLL!!! And that is a huge goal just before half time. Joe Hart must be absolutely fuming because once again he has made a good save but no City defender reacts while Gomez gets there to score his second. Very poor defending.
Yellow CardSergio Agüero
The goal had been coming it has to be said, it will be interesting to see if City change the way they are playing in the second half. After a bright opening they have been pushed back somewhat.
GOOOAAALLLL!! And there is the goal. Ribery cuts inside and unleashes a shot which Hart saves but Mueller pounces on the rebound. Somehow Hart gets up to deny him but Muller is unmarked and finishes from a couple of yards. Not sure where the City defence went with those rebounds.
It should be 1-0 to Bayern. They win the ball high up the pitch and Mueller has four options with him he plays the ball across goal and Schweinsteiger times his run brilliantly but somehow contrives to miss the target from six yards unmarked. Very lucky let off.
Excellent block. Kolo Toure bombs forward and loses the ball as Ribery drives forward and finds Mueller with his cross who chests it down and shoots but it is blocked very well.
Bayern's turn to have a period of possession. Nasri is caught in possession by Ribery who sprints down the before offloading to Schweinsteiger. Ribery receives the ball back at the edge of the area and his shot is parried away by Hart. Just coming to the boil this game.
City just step up the pace a bit and have penned the hosts back. Silva needs to get onto the ball more often though as the team is lacking some creativity when on the ball at the moment.
That is a very poor shot. Kroos gets the ball on the edge of the area and has options left and right but goes for the shot. He leans back and shoots with very little conviction and the ball balloons into the crowd.
The game going along pretty slowly as both teams try to look for the mistake. Certainly no secret to why both Bayern and City have a godd defensive record this season.
This has turned into something of a chess match now as both teams try to preempt the other's move.
Bayern starting to control proceedings now as City sit deeper and deeper. Still not a huge amount of goal mouth action though as the pace slows somewhat.
Finally some goal mouth action in City's half. Seemingly with nowhere to Schweinsteiger, threads a ball through to Rafinha who delayed his pull back too long and his cross was deflected away from danger.
Bit of yo-yo football in the last couple of minutes as both sides try to find some fluency in the game. Gomez looking very isolated.
Bayern not showing a huge amount going forward but they have got hold of the ball a bit more in the last few minutes. City looking to get forward whenever possible. Fascinatingly poised right now.
Bayern trying to get hold of the ball a bit more now as their fans continue to scream at the top of their voice.
Ooo that was close. Richards did what he does best and ran forward with great enthusiasm before pulling back for Dzeko who rather tamely hits straight at Neuer from 7 yards out. Bright start from City.
Silva already looking dangerous on the ball as he has done every game this season. This time he sells Boateng who slides underneath the leaping Spaniard.
City get the game underway in an extremely loud Allianz Arena.
Manchester City come into their second ever Champions League game after comfortably overcoming a stubborn Everton team on Saturday. Roberto Mancini still finds no starting place for Carlos Tevez while Kolo Toure completes his return to the big time replacing Joleon Lescott. Nigel De Jong also makes a return to the substitutes bench after an injury lay off.
Bayern Munich come into tonight's match full of confidence having won their last nine games in a row, during which time they haven't conceded one goal. Mario Gomez leads line the line and has already scored eight goals this season while Arjen Robben is only fit enough to start on the bench.
Manchester City line-up: Hart Richards Kompany Clichy K Toure Barry Nasri Silva Y Toure Dzeko Aguero Substitutes: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Lescott, Kolarov, Milner, De Jong, Tevez
Bayern Munich line-up: Neuer Van Buyten Rafinha Boateng Lahm Ribery Dias Schweinsteiger Kroos Mueller Gomez Substitutes: Butt, Contento, Takashi Usami, Alaba, Tymoschuk, Petersen, Robben
