Only had a single save to make in the first half and it was a relatively routine one from Vitinho's shot. He had a few more to deal with after the break but he did what was asked of him with the utmost reliability.
A solid night for the centre-back as he kept his concentration to help ensure his side ended the night with a clean sheet. He read the play well in what was a very calm performance.
The Brazilian pushed on to good effect, forcing Vitinho to track back and help his team-mates defend. He put a number of great deliveries into the area and came close to finding the net with a decent first-half effort.
Operated in the holding midfield role and showed great technique and composure in possession, even when under pressure. He acted as a pivot for his side, helping stretch the opposition with his impressive passing.
Gave his side the perfect start as his brilliantly-struck free kick found the bottom corner after just four minutes. He supported Ribery superbly by pushing on regularly and he put some quality crosses into the box. His pass to assist Robben for the third was exquisite.
The Brazil international was not particularly busy but his attention seemed to wander at crucial moments. He allowed Musa to cut inside of him far too easily as he struck CSKA's best chance in the first half.
An impressive outing from the winger. Whenever he got the ball he looked to race at goal, or he came inside in an attempt to pull the CSKA defence out of position. His clever free kick was headed home by Mandzukic before he rounded off the scoring with a great finish.
The Frenchman was a constant source of danger as he ran at defenders and forced them to commit to the tackle. He was full of energy and helped create a lot for his side, but he was unable to test Akinfeev himself.
Found some pockets of space in the midfield and was assured in possession, but he did not do anything to make himself stand out. It was a competent performance from the Germany international but not quite one of his best.
The Croatian missed a couple of great chances before heading home Bayern's second of the night shortly before half time. He offered a target inside the area and challenged for every aerial ball.
Really struggled to get involved in the action and found himself pushed out onto the right for extended periods. He did not give up making dangerous runs even though he failed to test Akinfeev himself.
The keeper could have done more to keep Alaba's free kick out having got a hand to the ball. He made a great stop to deny Mandzukic later in the half but that early error put his team on the back foot from the opening minutes.
For the most part, the experienced centre-back struggled to hold his own in a very competitive evening. His defence was caught flat-footed on the second and third goals, which ultimately led to their defeat.
Found it difficult to cope with the combination of Alaba and Ribery during the early stages and took time to find his feet. He began to close the play much quicker but still allowed too many crosses in from his flank.
Won a few of the aerial battles with Mandzukic but his lack of pace was exploited. His positioning was poor, particularly when Bayern scored their second and third goals.
The left-back failed to cope with the link-up between Robben and Rafinha and failed to stop them from finding space in which to put the ball in the box. He did make a couple of decent recovering challenges.
Unable to have much of an impact on the game and was a passenger in the CSKA midfield. He did not link with the forwards at all and was completely bypassed when Bayern had possession.
Gave away a rash and sloppy free kick in the opening minutes which Alaba converted from. He did not show enough desire to close the Bayern players when they were in possession and was largely ineffectual.
Got back to help his team out defensively and tracked the runners from deep well. However, he failed to provide any kind of positive contribution at the other end of the pitch, which is where he was really needed.
Only had rare moments to try and link the play in the first half as CSKA barely saw any of the ball in the final third. He did begin to knock some decent passes around after the break but he was wasteful from set plays.
Looked lively on the rare occasions that he received the ball and he worked hard for his team to put pressure on the Bayern defence. He lacked a clinical edge in the final third, though, and missed one of CSKA's best chances.
Was forced to track back and help defend against Robben and Rafinha. He was not convincing back in his final third and, despite signs of growing into the game in the latter stages of the half, he was withdrawn during the break.
