Had very little to do but showed solid handling and kept his concentration, although he was not able to get enough on the ball to keep out Drogba's header. Looked formidable in the shootout, stopping Juan Mata's effort from the spot and scored himself with a cool right-footed finish.
Stayed strong up against Drogba, displaying pace on the ground and power in the air.
The young full-back did not match the attacking ambition of Lahm but was composed defensively against Kalou.
The Bayern captain led by example. Solid defensively and constantly offering an attacking outlet, combining well with Robben on the right flank. Scored the opening penalty of the shootout with a powerful effort.
Picked the ball up in pockets of space and continually ran at Bosingwa. Seemed to lose his head slightly in the final third, badly slicing one effort, and had a goal chalked off in the second half for a marginal offside. Brought down by Drogba for the Bayern penalty but in the process was forced off through injury.
Against his former club, the Dutchman missed from the spot in extra-time to the horror of the Bayern fans. Put dangerous crosses into the box and his first-half shot hit the post via a deflection off Cech's foot.
Quietly stamped his mark on the game, picking the ball up in central areas and sweeping passes out wide as Bayern dominated possession. Missed the decisive spot-kick after a hesitant, nervy run-up.
Saw plenty of the ball in central midfield and was always happy to take possession under pressure. Displayed some wayward shooting from the edge of the box.
Played in an unfamiliar central defensive postition but coped well, demonstrating good anticipation and using is ability on the ball to start attacks.
Scored the goal to put Bayern ahead as he headed in off the bar eight minutes from time. Had dragged an earlier shot wide but he was always happy to pick the ball up under pressure and work opportunities for team-mates. Replaced by Van Buyten in the 86th minute.
Scored 41 goals this season coming into the game but missed countless chances, particularly in the first half as he failed to connect with the ball. Excellent cross for Muller's goal. Somewhat made up for his early profligacy with an assured penalty.
Made a superb save to keep out Robben's penalty in extra-time. Slightly suspect for the Bayern goal but made some crucial stops throughout the game and kept out Olic's spot-kick in the shootout, and got a touch to Schweisteiger's too.
So solid for much of the game - making one superb block - but got caught ball-watching for Bayern's first goal. Offered virtually nothing going forward. Put away his penalty with unerring calm.
The youngster surprisingly started the game in a left-wing position but looked overwhelmed by the occasion and seemed uncomfortable on the ball.

Took on a difficult job sitting at the base of the Chelsea midfield. Found it hard to pick up Bayern midfielders but nevertheless performed an important defensive role.
Pace and trickery made him look a threat on the counter-attack but it was superficial as he lacked conviction in his passing. Replaced by Torres six minutes from time.
The Ivorian has always been the man for the big occasion and he headed the equaliser with a thumping header in the 88th minute. Made a stupid mistake in extra-time as he conceded the penalty for a clumsy challenge on Ribery but was let off by the miss and ended up as the hero as he showed nerves of steel to slot the crucial spot-kick.
D. Van Buyten
Came on for goalscorer Mu ller in the 86th minute as Bayern attempted to close down the game. Coped reasonably enough and was a threat on attacking set-pieces.
Replaced the injured Ribery seven minutes into extra-time. Worked hard and volleyed a glorious chance wide of the post before seeing his spot-kick saved by Cech in the shootout.
