The goalkeeper was largely untested in the first half but when called upon after the break he showed a safe pair of hands, making great saves from Vargas and Keita.
The centre-back was comfortable in possession and read the play well at the back. At times he stepped up to offer support in midfield and pulled a good save from Guaita.
At times caught too high up the pitch, leaving space for Feghouli to run into. However, for the most part he kept the Algerian quiet and supported Stocker at the other end.
Pushed on from right-back consistently and earned himself an assist on the opener following his pass to Delgado. He kept tight to Cartabia and limited his input.
The Argentine mopped up at the back extremely effectively, showing a good turn of pace to track the likes of Feghouli when he looked to run in behind.
Dropped extremely deep to pick up the ball and ignite the play. He still managed to pop up in the right areas, though, finishing the game with two brilliant goals.
Was efficient in the midfield during the first half and had a solid second half after switching to right-back, though he did not receive much cover.
Wasted a great early chance as he went to ground inside the box too easily under pressure from Senderos. However, he worked exceptionally hard in an industrious outing.
The Chilean passed the ball exquisitely in the centre of the park and was always looking to bring his team-mates into the action. He faded after the break, though.

Made a clumsy early challenge which earned him a booking, but after that he was much more measured and helped break apart the play in the midfield area.
The winger drifted across the pitch and was hungry for the ball. He supplied a brilliant assist for Delgado's second before wrapping up the win with an audacious chip.
Was confident when coming off of his line and made a brilliant save from Schar in the first half. He could do little to keep out either of Delgado's goals or Stocker's chip.
The right-back pushed on well in the second half and offered additional width on the right, but he had already afforded Stocker too much space to do damage in the earlier stages.
The centre-back picked up a booking for a rash early challenge before injury forced him off after just 25 minutes.
Orchestrated the defence well early on but he switched off for a short period in the first half and his team were punished. He worked hard to help his team fight back, though.
The young winger made some bright, darting runs to draw a few fouls. He was quiet for very long periods until supplying some great crosses in the second half.
Failed to make the most of Valencia's best chances. He forced a save from Guaita early in the second half and was unable to capitalise on another two great opportunities.
Made some bright runs behind the full back but failed to ever provide anything of real substance. The Algerian's crossing was poor as he left Alcacer and Vargas short of ammunition.
Used his experience to slot in at the back and help his team defend when necessary. However, he wasted a great opportunity to score late on.
Sat off the Basel midfielders for far too long in the first half but upped his game after the break and managed to orchestrate a number of attacks from his deep position.
Showed much more energy in the second half and regularly overlapped Cartabia to offer another outlet on the left flank. Defensively, he was solid.
The striker did not see a lot of the ball but when chances were created for him he showed a dire touch in a hugely disappointing evening.
