Made one mistake early as he failed to gather a ball to Gomez, but was rock-solid afterward. Three superb saves denied the visitors, and ensured a very, very favourable result for the Swiss.
Superb from the young Austrian, who was incredibly unlucky to have a header saved on the quarter hour mark. Formed a solid partnership with Abraham to deny Gomez, and made some vital interceptions.
Deserved an assist for a lovely pass to Alex Frei early, and did well to deny Robben the chance to cut inside. Anticipated the Dutchman's movements very well, and left him frustrated.
Was occasionally troubled by Ribery in the early stages, but linked well with Shaqiri throughout and was a major asset bombing up the right flank.
Left Ribery through with a chance on three minutes, but gathered his composure and played a very strong game overall. Did well to muscle the Frenchman off the ball in the 55th minute, and stood his ground amid wave after wave of Bayern attacks late. Booked, yes, but it was a necessary foul on Robben.
The veteran played a quiet role alongside Xhaka, but his calming influence and tactical know-how were important in ensuring a clean sheet. Defended well, often denying Ribery the option to cut inside.
One of the few under-performers among Basel's ranks. The Swiss winger was able to do very little on the left flank, and was replaced by the eventual goal-scorer, Stocker, mid-way through the second half.
A potential superstar in the making. Guilty of the occasional poor pass, but his judgment will improve with age. Basel's most active man on the ball, and convincing at both ends. Played some lovely passes, too, most notably his through-pass to Fabian Frei after half-time.
Was not even on the pitch when the winner was scored, but gave his team confidence during the 83 minutes he played as he showed his versatility. Played some brilliant passes, and did extremely well on multiple occasions to create space to cross.
Forced a fine save from Neuer early, but disappointed with his only other attempt on goal, a poorly taken header on 49 minutes. a useful outlet in some instances, but lacked the cutting edge of a finisher.
The veteran had one golden opportunity to put his side ahead early, but squandered it as the ball rebounded off the bar. Afterward it was an underwhelming show from the veteran.
Bayern's defence looked much like that which lost to Inter last year, but the difference tonight was the heroics of Neuer, who produced a great block from Streller and then the save of the tournament from Dragovic in the opening minutes. Unfortunate to have conceded.
Did very well at the attacking end, but his being paired with a winger of similar foot preference meant that the two often had the same idea. Combined well with Ribery and showed real spirit as he pushed to create a goal, but fell short.
Guilty perhaps of leaving too much space for Dragovic to head on goal early, but was quick to anticipate runs and snuff out danger afterward. Basel looked dangerous, but rarely for any fault of Badstuber.
Unlucky to continually be forced wide to cover for Rafinha, the former Hamburg man was forced into an impossible role and actually played rather well under the circumstances. Made a few vital interventions, although he once was guilty of running under a long ball.
Hopelessly out of position on many occasions. The majority of Basel's attacks came from his side, and time and time again Boateng was forced to move out to cover in the former Schalke man's place. Nowhere near Stocker - his responsibility - for Basel's goal.
Stung Sommer's gloves with a nice shot on the half hour mark, and was involved in some nice runs, but still has a lot to learn in terms of dictating the flow of a game. Lacked the control and influence of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
A surprise inclusion from the start, the Ukrainian showed his years and was out of place in a frantic game. Won his tackles, but had trouble in a disorderly midfield and in one instance invited a counterattack with a terrible pass.
A playmaker in position, but not function. The Germany international was crisp with his ball-playing in the centre of the park, but played only two telling passes all game, to Gomez and Robben.
Looked more confident than he has in recent weeks and played some very nice passes especially in the first half. But whenever he shot, the Dutchman was very, very far off the mark..
Involved in three good chances in the opening 11 minutes, but faded more and more as the game progressed. Had a quiet second half and was replaced by Muller with 19 minutes left.
Has lacked confidence as of late and it showed . A loose touch denied an early chance on goal, and a poor header saw him miss out on a clear chance late in the first half. Unwisely went for goal when he could have passed to Robben on 42 minutes, and couldn't beat Sommer when played in half-way through the second period.

Came on as a late, late substitute and had no time to influence the game.
Replaced Ribery for the final 19 minutes and looked dangerous immediately as he played a couple excellent balls from the left flank. But for all his motivation, the Germany international was unable to influence the result.
