Did not have many saves to deal with in the match as Rayo did not have many shots on target. As Barcelona dominated he was a spectator but whenever the ball came his way he did his best to start the play up from the deepest position.
Had no major defensive responsibilities in the match and so had a whole flank in which to operate. Did see a lot of the ball but his crossing and delivery was poor in the final third. Needs to re-establish the link with Xavi picking out passes to him as running behind the defence is his biggest asset.
Rayo had no threat down the flanks so it was a relatively quiet match for the Frenchman. Did not get forward like Alves but remained solid and went through the motions of the match as Barcelona claimed an easy victory.
A vast improvement from his performance at the weekend and looked back to his usual self. Was very confident in possession and this proved decisive when he ventured forward, making a smart pass to Dani Alves that ultimately led to Barcelona's third goal. Tackling was also more solid and communicated well with Mascherano.
As the game was very open in the first 20 minutes, the Barcelona captain kept a cool head and created two assists in the match, one albeit very fortuitously. He acted as Barca's playmaker until he was rested near the hour mark after his team had already sealed victory.
The Malian provided his side with a solid foundation in midfield to build upon and this ultimately allowed the flair players to work their magic in advanced positions. Did not offer much in the playmaking side of the game but won the ball continuously and fed to Xavi and Iniesta to strut their stuff. An unsung but very effective performance.
Took the first quarter of the match to find his feet but eventually started to find pockets of space in between the Rayo defence and midfield. This allowed him to create from advanced positions. Not his most impressive display but helped Barcelona on their way to a 4-0 lead before being substituted.
Continues to impress in the centre back position. Was more than happy to fill in for Dani Alves whenever the Brazilian ventured forward and dealt with threats on goal without much hassle. Tackling was impeccably timed throughout the match.
The Chilean's best match in a Barcelona shirt this evening. Grabbed a brace which included a neat finish and a wonderfully curled shot from outside the box. Was also a lot more sharper and the flicks and tricks were coming off for him. Most importantly, he looks to be establishing a better communication with his team-mates.
In the first half it looked as if it could have been another bad night for Villa, who was failing to communicate with team-mates. However, his goal gave him a confidence boost and a spring in his step, and in the second half we saw glimpses of his old dynamic self, including a glorious attempt at goal when he flicked over a defenders head and then clipped a lob over the bar.
Was a training match for the Argentine tonight. Scored a goal with a powerful dribble and lovely finish in the Rayo box but as Barcelona dominated he did not exert himself too much as the game was won very early. Not as many meaningful dribbles or shots on goal as usual but still contributed highly whenever Barca had possession.
Made a bright start to the match and made an excellent save from a deflected Dani Alves shot in the 16th minute. Could have done nothing to prevent any of the Barcelona goals and was not offered a lot of protection from his team-mates. Was very fortunate not to give away a penalty when he brought down Gerard Pique in the latter stages of the match.
Had room to manoeuvre down the left hand side with Dani Alves marauding forward but failed to take advantage of this. Whenever he managed to get a period of possession, Mascherano would come over to fill in for his team-mate and easily dispossess the Rayo man.
Did not communicate at all well with his central defensive partner. Two of Barcelona's goals came from passes straight through the defence as gaping holes were there for all to see. Outclassed and outwitted whenever Barcelona kicked up a gear.
Won a few headers when Barcelona were struggling in the opening quarter of the match and hit the ball long on occasion but was far too stationary to attempt to deal with the awesome movement of the Barca front line.
Was guilty of standing off both David Villa and Alexis Sanchez throughout the match. Gave the Chilean bags of room to clip in the opening goal and it was not much better when Villa was on the left. Also failed to match the run of Alexis when he ran in the box unopposed to grab his second goal.
Positioning was very questionable throughout the match, which proved to be deadly for Rayo. Ran out of his post just after the break which allowed Lionel Messi the freedom of the Camp Nou to run down the right wing and into the box unopposed.
Battled hard in moments in the first half but was eventually outclassed and overrun by the immensely talented Barca midfield. However, should have defended much better and showed more strength to deny Lionel Messi's goal in the second half when the Argentine dribbled into the box to score.
Rayo Vallecano's best player on the night. The veteran midfielder passed the ball around very impressively in the opening 20 minutes of the match, and swaggered about the midfield in the style of Borja Valero, with short, neat passes. Was a very cool head in midfield but his age showed when he could not deal with the movement of Iniesta and Xavi in the final third.
Made a few marauding runs that did not amount to much in the first half. Also let David Villa and Eric Abidal double up on Botelho down the wing, and was substituted at half time in favour of Raul Tamudo.
Admirably chased down every ball and put a lot of pressure on the Barcelona defenders. Won a few good flick-ons also but lacked the quality to hurt Barca with the ball at his feet as he was well-marshalled throughout the match by Mascherano.
Passed up a great opportunity to give Rayo an unlikely lead in the opening minutes when he missed a volley from inside the box. Battled the Barcelona defenders and was a willing runner throughout his time on the park but did not have any real affect on the game.

Only moment of note after coming on was a glorious lob over the top of the Rayo defence to Pique that should have resulted in a goal.
Slotted in nicely in midfield and took up the mantle well from Iniesta.
