• Camp Nou, Barcelona
Referee: José Luis González González
• Attendance: 39299
Fàbregas 9', 63'
L. Messi 90', 90'+
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is well and truly that. Fabregas was the star for the first hour with two goals tonight, but one Lionel Messi took over from the moment he was introduced. A calm close-range finish and a brilliant run and shot sealed an emphatic win for Barca, and leave no-one in any doubt - Messi is back!
90' + 3'
GOOOAAAAAALLLLL! MESSI DOES IT AGAIN! Alex Song slides a great ball through to Messi who sprints clear of the defence and rifles high and hard past Codina. The last kick of the game, and what a way to finish!
90' + 2'
Goal Lionel Messi
90' + 1'
MESSI - side netting! A wicked free kick from 30 yards out ripples the outside of Codina's goal. Almost a stunning finish to the game.
Goal Lionel Messi
GOAAAALLLLLL!! LEO MESSI!! It didn't take him long after all! Busquets floats a great ball to Montoya, Codina does just enough to put him off but Messi calmly turns home the rebound.
Yellow Card Juan Rodríguez
Messi free kick, the crowd expects... but he fires into the wall from 25 yards. Not quite his best effort.
Yellow Card Montoya
Tello picks it up out wide but his pass to Song was inaccurate, and Montoya ends up in the book for a late challenge as he tried to steal the ball back.
PEDRO - so close! Messi accelerated down the left and clips a delightful ball towards the far post but Pedro just can't climb high enough to connect.
Tonight's man of the match Cesc Fabregas is the final man to make way for Barca, with Alex Song on for the final ten minutes.
Montoya forward again but his cross his cleared. Getafe have finally given Marica a break, taking off the Romanian for Adrian Colunga Perez.
Lovely change of pace from Messi there, skipping beyond three players in a tight space. He looks a little wary of over-exerting himself, but the sharpness is there.
CASTRO! Lovely effort! A strong run from Leon sets up Castro, who turns away from Puyol but curls his shot just wide of the top corner.
Another change for Barca and it's Cristian Tello for Alexis. A good chance for Tello to impress here.
Adriano looks for Alexis but the flag is up for offside. Barca win it back immediately and Cesc finds Messi who sets up Alexis again but his effort is beaten away. Getafe unable to keep hold of the ball at present.
Cesc almost picks out Pedro's run from deep but he just can't get his toe on the ball to keep it in. A third goal for Barca is looking likely - Getafe have rather withdrawn into themselves after that penalty.
First change for Getafe as Pedro Leon replaces Sarabia, whose contribution rather faded after a lively first half.
Almost a telling contribution from Messi - a good free kick is swung in towards the far post and Rodriguez' header his Busquets and goes behind.
Barca's backline are pushed right up to halfway now - almost everyone is in Getafe's half.
Jaime Gavilán Martínez
Andrés Iniesta Luján
And here he comes! Andres Iniesta makes way for Lionel Messi, and Camp Nou erupts!
Penalty Goal Cesc Fàbregas
Cesc steps up - AND SCORES!! Fired high and hard into the right-hand side of the net. The former Arsenal man gets a second that his performance fully deserves - he's been superb tonight.
Yellow Card Alexis
Yellow Card Juan Valera
PENALTY! Pedro races onto Cesc's pass, turns inside and is tripped by the sliding Valera, who gets a booking for his troubles.
Marica and Gavilan try to break but the attack breaks down. Messi appears to be getting closer to an appearance, meanwhile...
Fabregas again! Alexis feeds him 18 yards out, and a quick one-two with Sergi Roberto allows him a strike which Codina beats away.
Yellow Card Jaime Gavilán Martínez
Gavilan becomes the first player in the book for the tie, cutting across Sergi Roberto's path on halfway and bringing down the youngster rather cynically.
Fabregas! Close! The Spaniard ghosts into the area behind Alexis to meet Alexis Sanchez's cross, but he can't get it on target from a tight angle at the near post.
Sergi Roberto gets away from Borja and finds Adriano, but his shot ends up somewhere near the top of the stands. Not his best strike.
Cesc links up with Iniesta but the chipped return is just too long. Final ball is not quite coming off for the hosts at present.
Chants of "Meeeessi, Meeeeessi" ring around Camp Nou as the Argentine warms up on the touchlines.
How did that stay out? Pedro plays in a teasing cross and Alexis - of Getafe - just gets in front of Fabregas to poke the ball up and over Alexis Sanchez and behind for a corner. It was a whisker away from the far corner.
Something of a fiesty opening to the half, with a few challenges flying in. Both sides looking refreshed and fired up.
Back underway at Camp Nou!
Barca in front at the break but Getafe have looked a threat once or twice. Can they get back on level terms in the second half? And will we see Lionel Messi?
And there's no injury time at all, so the referee brings the half to a close. Barca firmly in charge but Getafe have had their chances and are by no means out of this first leg.
First half is just winding down to a close now. Barca still bossing the ball but appear in no rush to find a second before the break.
Iniesta really pulling the strings this evening - this time his clipped pass for Pedro is just too long and bounces behind for a goal kick.
More good work from Sarabia as he skips his way past Puyol and Adriano, but his effort from distance is wild. Marica is not happy with that particular effort.
Lovely play from Iniesta forces another corner for the home side, who are finishing the half strongly.
Montoya races clear down the left again but his cross is punched clear. Barca have it back with a throw-in towards the corner flag.
Good play again from Getafe - Lago crosses for Marica but he can't quite get his header over the ball. Poor defending from Barca there.
CHANCE - what a save from Pinto! Rodriguez flicks the ball on at the near post but the veteran keeper parries it acrobatically behind for a corner.
Adriano concedes a free kick near the corner flag - another chance for the visitors, perhaps...
Lovely play between Sergi Roberto and Montoya but Getafe survive. Rafa is doing his best to shut the door on Barca's attack but the visitors are giving the ball back far too quickly.
Barca try the intricate from a free kick - Cesc passes to Iniesta on the edge of the box, who fires it first time towards Alexis, but it's just overhit.
Close! Puyol runs unchecked from deep from a corner but can only glance his header wide. Poor marking, but not a great finish, either.
Martino has previously criticised his side for failing to press the ball as well as they have in past. He can have no such complaints tonight.
Sergi Roberto tries to trick his way through, but Cesc's pass is intercepted after his layoff. Barca win it back immediately, though.
Free kick for Barca this time as Lago trips Alexis on the stretch, but it comes to nothing.
Half a chance there! Sarabia whips in a beautiful ball and Valera heads it into the ground and wide. He really should have done better there.
Handball by Puyol and Getafe have a chance to put another delivery into the area...
Super play from Marica to hold up the ball and release Sarabia, but this time Mascherano gets a firm foot in to clear the ball away. Better from the visitors.
Some respite for Getafe as they win a throw off Alexis, just inside the Barca half... but the hosts quickly win it back.
Sarabia's doing his level best to drag Getafe back into this. He faces up Mascherano and skips past him towards the right of the area but his shot is deflected safely into Pinto's grasp. Moments later, Cesc tees up Adriano but his cross just eludes Alexis at the far post.
Marica looks for Sarabia but Mascherano is across to cover well. Iniesta then finds Pedro who drives for the byline inside the area but can only clip the ball onto the roof of the net.
Alexis trips Lago to concede a free kick, but Barca are right back on the front foot after that goal. Superb start from Tata Martino's men.
Goal Cesc Fàbregas
GOOAAAAAAAAAAL! Cesc Fabregas opens the scoring! Busquet's volley is blocked into the path of Pedro, who clips the ball to the back post where Fabregas steers an excellent header beyond the keeper.
Lovely interplay from Barca sees Iniesta fire it out wide to Alexis. He puts a dangerous ball into the six-yard box but Rafa does well to turn the ball away - and not into his own net.
Pedro and Cesc combine to force a corner. It's taken short and worked to Adriano, but his effort is blocked.
Juan Rodriguez meets the delivery but his leader loops harmlessly onto the crossbar.
Iniesta brings the first save out of Codina, but it's a fairly comfortable one as he clutches the effort from the edge of the box. Getafe now with a free kick.
Half a chance for Alexis to prod it through to Montoya there, but it's blocked and cleared.
And we're off!
Puyol and Gavilan are in the centre-circle for the coin toss - we're moments away!
Barcelona are 1/9 on to win tonight's game, even without Messi or Neymar in the starting XI. Do Getafe have a chance? @JoeWright004 is my Twitter handle if you wish to keep me company here...
And Getafe line up as follows: Codina, Valera, Alexis, Rafa, Roberto Lago, Lacen, Juan Rodriguez, Gavilan, Diego Castro, Sarabia, Ciprian Marcia.
Barca subs: Valdes, Pique, Alba, Song, Xavi, Messi, Tello. A strong bench for the home side, and some important starting players, too, with Mascherano and Puyol back alongside one another at the heart of defence with Adriano at full-back.
Barcelona line up this evening: Pinto; Montoya, Puyol, Mascherano, Adriano; Sergi Roberto, Busquets, Iniesta; Pedro, Cesc, Alexis.
We'll have some team news on the way shortly, but it's probably fair to say that the most important bit of info out of Camp Nou this evening is that Lionel Messi is back in the match squad - he's on the bench this evening.
