On inspired form in the first half to deny a series of Norwich shots, but was beaten by a wonderful Pilkington free-kick which was at the same post where he was standing.
Struggled aerially against Holt and mis-judged one header which allowed Morison a shot at goal but regrouped and put in another assured display.
Troubled by Tierney and Pilkington down the left, he brought down Holt for the free-kick which saw Pilkington score. His manager said his performances are starting to improve, but there's certainly more to come from the Scot although he got better as the match wore on.
A quiet game as Norwich rarely attacked down his side but an accomplished performance nevertheless.
Kept Morison fairly quiet for the most part, getting in a crucial block from one shot. A strong defensive performance from the Irishman.
Was less of an influence throughout the match as he normally is but still gave a solid performance.
The pace of the game was too much to begin with, but he proved a great defensive shield as the match went on, putting in sliding tackles to rob opposition players of the ball as they looked to attack. You can see why he is liked here already.
An improved performance from the winger as he looked dangerous running at the Canaries' defence and provided some decent deliveries into the area. Showed the sort of form which persuaded his manager to sign him.
Saw more of the ball than he would have expected and rarely wasted it. Caused the Norwich defence problems with his strength and worked hard for the side.
His manager had to deny reports this week that he was being sold in January and he responded by bringing Villa level before scoring the third.
After a quiet couple of weeks he burst back into life, causing Naughton all sorts of problems as he twice beat him down the wing to whip in great crosses, the second of which Bent scored from.
Was sold short by Barnett but did not help by trying an ambitious clearance instead of sliding to get rid of the ball. Made one good save from Bent but was let down by his defence once again.
Mis-judged one header which almost saw Bent score, he never looked comfortable at the back and afforded the England striker too much space.
Had a horrible afternoon against Agbonlahor, getting beaten with too much ease which saw Bent equalise. Should feel comforted that he wasn't the first player to suffer such treatment here this season.
Will have nightmares after his back-pass allowed Agbonlahor to score and he failed to mark Bent for his second.
Bombed forward wherever possible, causing the Villa backline plenty of problems and was strong defensively as seen by his block from an N'Zogbia shot when he had weaved his way into the area.
Was having a decent game before suffering a clash of heads with N'Zogbia in the first half which forced him to go off.
A constant threat down the wings, although he found himself all over the pitch. Was denied by Given from an early shot. Saw less of the ball in the second half and was taken off.
Had several goes at trying to beat Given before finally scoring with a superb free-kick, was his side's best attacking threat.
Secure in possession, he almost set up Morison for what would have been one of the goals of the season after a mazy run. Looked more effective in the second half.
Set the tone by making himself a nuisance in the Villa area and he managed to find pockets of space around the pitch, making it difficult for the defenders to track him about. Supplied a wonderful cross for Morison's goal.
Tested Given with a couple of pot-shots but offered little of a threat in front of goal until Holt's great cross set him up for an easy header.
