A fairly quiet afternoon for the goalkeeper, only really having to make one proper save to deny Mutch in the first half.
Solid as has come to be expected alongside Mertesacker. Rarely put a foot wrong and kept Campbell in his back pocket all game.
Rarely troubled from a defensive point of view, but was not his sharpest when going forward, while some of his passes were often poor.
His usual reliable self at the back for Arsenal, with the Gunners only threatened on the odd occasion Cardiff came forward on the counterattack. Missed two golden opportunities to score from set-pieces, however.
Started the game poorly, giving the ball away on more than one occasion. But grew into the match as it went on, and managed to contribute effectively for Arsenal going forward, providing the cross for the winner.
He was at the heart of nearly every Arsenal attack alongside Wilshere as he buzzed all over the pitch, spreading the play excellently.
The birthday boy combined brilliantly with Cazorla, and his driving runs often caused Cardiff problems. Was at the heart of all of Arsenal's creative play and was rewarded with an assist for Walcott's goal.
Kept Arsenal’s possession ticking along nicely and often tried a more adventurous ball than one would come to expect from the Spaniard. Did not provide enough cover for his defence when Cardiff countered though.
His passing, which is not his greatest strength, was very poor as he often brought an end to an Arsenal attack with a bad ball. Like Arteta, failed to provide his defence with the cover needed when Cardiff countered.
Almost anonymous and struggled big time to lead the line. He kept dropping too deep which meant he had a negative effect on the Gunners’ shape.
Actually had little to do as Arsenal often failed to hit the target with their chances. Did make a few important saves when needed though, and could do little about the late goals.
Was given the runaround by Cazorla and Wilshere all day long. Not the comeback to the Cardiff side the full-back would have been hoping for.
Failed to spot Walcott coming in from right a number of times, but did manage to make some important headers. Improved as the game went on.
At his commanding best in the second half as Cardiff had their backs to the wall. Did well to keep Podolski and Bendtner - almost - quiet all game.
Walcott gave him a tough time down his left flank, but he was often saved by the winger being offside or an Arsenal pass being overhit.
He was a vital part of Cardiff’s effective counterattacking play in the first half. Showed great strength to win back the ball and dangerous coming forward, before being taken off in the second.
Looked dangerous at times on the break, and had a shot fired just over the bar, but was on the back foot more than he would have wanted to be.
Struggled to cope with Walcott when deployed on the left of Cardiff’s midfield, often choosing to come inside and leave his full-back exposed. Was deployed more centrally in the second half.
Did a decent job of sitting in front of his back four but gave away a number of fouls. Lucky not to concede a penalty on Wilshere.
Struggled as Cardiff had to defend for the majority of the game, while he was not involved as much as he would have liked when the away side got forward.
A very long afternoon for the striker. Was starved off service and pretty isolated with Cardiff doing most of the defending.
