The Ajax goalkeeper couldn't do much about any of the three goals he conceded. Kept his side in the game when he denied Benzema from close range before the break.
G. van der Wiel
The full-back was hardly troubled in his defensive duties and always looked dangerous going forward. Sent in some good crosses from the right and unleashed a few powerful long range strikes.
The Belgian made some good interceptions before the interval, but allowed Benzema too much space to set up Madrid's second. Should have scored with a header from close range in the second half.
The Cameroon international did a good job in midfield as he won numerous challenges and made several good interceptions. Was one of the better performers tonight.
Caused the Madrid defence all kinds of trouble with his silky dribbles and intelligent movement. Hit the crossbar once and saw a goal wrongly disallowed for offside.
Eriksen never stopped moving and was always available to receive the ball. Showed some intelligent touches, but couldn't do anything decisive.
Anita was directly responsible for the opener as he lost sight of Callejon. Then, he failed to cut inside and help out Blind for the 2-0. A night to forget for the full-back.
The Uruguayan often dropped deep to collect the ball and direct play from there on. Scored what seemed to be a perfectly fine goal to level the scoring at the half-hour mark, but was ruled out by the assistant referee.
The midfielder fought out some interesting duels with Granero, but won't be completely satisfied with his performance. His set-pieces often lacked accuracy and so did his passing overall.
Blind was brought in to replace the injured Alderweireld and struggled to find his own. Outpaced by Higuain at 2-0 and struggled to cope with the Argentine's movement.
Not for the first time this season, Ebecilio looked out of his depth at the very top level. The winger hardly ever got past his direct opponent and his passing was abysmal.
The young goalkeeper was beaten twice, but still managed to keep a clean sheet, with some help from the Portuguese refereeing trio. Made some good saves when tested from outside the area and looked comfortable between the sticks.
The Spain international was never really troubled by Ebecilio and hardly put a foot wrong at the back. Should have got involved going forward more often, though.
Didn't have an easy evening as Sulejmani and Van der Wiel often doubled up on him, and so couldn't therefore charge forward as often as he would have liked to.
The young defender always looked calm on the ball and didn't do much wrong in the ArenA. Very encouraging display from the former Lens starlet.
Albiol struggled to decide whether to follow Lodeiro in midfield or give him some space and was too late more than once. Also won some important tackles, however, to help Madrid keep a clean sheet.
Granero was handed a rare start and did a reasonably good job in midfield. Made some excellent runs off the ball and showed some fine passing.
Ran more than any other player on the pitch in the first half, but was mainly chasing opponents. Not at his best yet after a lengthy injury lay-off, but he'll pleased to complete the full 90 minutes again.
The Brazilian was not as influential as in the first meeting between the sides, but still did enough to make an impact. Set up the opener with a brilliant pass from midfield.
The former Espanyol winger was the star of the show as he netted twice to end Ajax's Champions League ambitions. Always looked lively and caused Anita all kinds of trouble with his intelligent movement.
The striker showed his quality shortly before the break when he escaped the attention of Blind and calmly placed the ball in the back of the net to make it 2-0. Didn't get involved too much throughout the 90 minutes.
Started from the left and didn't get in too many dangerous positions. Nevertheless, showed his class with a fine assist and an impressive dribble early on.

Replaced Arbeloa in the 67th minute, and had some shaky moments early on. Quickly recovered, though, with a solid display.
Came off the bench to take Benzema's place in the 54th minute, but didn't get involved too much.
Replaced Granero at the hour mark to add some more steel to Madrid's midfield and did exactly that. Provided the assist for the third goal.
