Bradford City - Arsenal Preview: Gunners hoping to avoid giant-killing in Capital One Cup
The visitors will look to book their place in the semi-final, but will have to make it past a Bantams side who have already taken one Premier League scalp this campaign

Bradford have no fresh injury concerns coming into the tie, with striker Zavon Hines (ankle) and winger Kyel Reid (groin) both making good progress but unlikely to return before Christmas. Luke Oliver (Achilles) is out for the rest of the season, while Andrew Davies (knee) looks set to return in January.
Arsenal fielded a weakened squad during their 7-5 victory over Reading in October, but Arsene Wenger has insisted that, while one or two players will be rotated, he will be fielding a strong side here. One of those set to miss out is Bacary Sagna, who is still suffering from an ankle problem.
Abou Diaby (thigh) is thought to be around two weeks away from a return, while Laurent Koscielny (thigh) and Theo Walcott (calf) are also sidelined. Andre Santos could return from an abdominal injury that has kept him out for the past few weeks.
With the Gunners likely to rotate in some capacity, Aaron Ramsey and Tomas Rosicky could partner Mikel Arteta in the centre of midfield, allowing Wenger to rest Jack Wilshere and the influential Santi Cazorla.

The 22-year-old has been in sparkling form for the Bantams this season, with 14 goals to his name in all competitions this term. The Bermudian is brave, intelligent in his movement and is lightning quick on the ball. As if that wasn’t enough, he is also more than capable of hitting a scorcher from distance. The Gunners’ back line will have to ensure that the space in behind them is minimal to limit the threat of Wells’ pace.

The Czech Republic international has suffered a frustrating period on the sidelines since aggravating an achilles injury at Euro 2012 during the summer. But his return to fitness is a huge boost for Arsenal, as his intelligent play and urgency with the ball raises the tempo of the Gunners’ game and forces the opposition into making mistakes. Rosicky will look to dictate the play from deep in midfield, but will also get forward in attack and add to the visitors’ goal threat.
Bradford are on a fantastic run at the moment and will be brimming with confidence after claiming the scalp of Wigan in October. However, Arsene Wenger may see the Capital One Cup as the key to ending Arsenal’s trophyless spell and, with the Frenchman planning to field a strong side, it is hard to see past the Gunners on this occasion.
