Thanks for joining me tonight on Goal.com, be sure to tune in on Tuesday night to see if the England Under 21s can qualify for next summer's tournament.
The second leg in Serbia is on Tuesday night, and England will be looking for a similar controlled performance in order to progress.
Full time then from Carrow Road, as England run out 1-0 winners against Serbia. Stuart Pearce's side have one foot in Euro 2013 thanks to Craig Dawson's penalty, and the manager will be happy with the clean sheet and therefore no away goal.
All over, England 1-0 Serbia.
Zaha, Ince and Henderson combine, and win England a late corner. They can run the clock down here - two minutes left.
Nice play from Townsend again, and he feeds Ince down the left. Ince drills over the bar, but he's given offside anyway. Very marginal.
Serbia attack down the right, and a cut-back to Despotovic is blocked brilliantly by Craig Dawson. The centre-half is proving to be handy at both ends of the pitch tonight.
Five minutes left, the home side need to just see this out now and take their lead into Tuesday's second leg.
Steven Caukler comes so close to doubling the lead. Great header from an Andros Townsend free-kick, but Aleksic is equal to it again.
Sliding challenge denies Ince down the other end, as it looked like he was trying to square the ball to Townsend.
Substitution Darko Lazović Nemanja Kojić
Serbia scew a rare chance just wide, Adam Smith does just enough to put off the attacker as he takes a shot.
Substitution Marvin Sordell Connor Wickham
Connor Wickham is coming on to replace Marvin Sordell for England.
Oh God, there's a Mexican Wave here. That, I suppose, tells you something about this game at the moment. In truth, England are doing just enough.
Zaha tries to slip in Sordell, but the keeper just beats the Bolton forward to the ball.
Yellow Card Slobodan Medojevic
Andros Townsend is looking useful here, having replaced England's best player tonight, Raheem Stirling.
A 40 yard free-kick from the Serb's almost catches everyone out but Butland is happy to see it fizz just wide.
So nearly 2-0!! Ince rolls the ball across the six yard box, and Zaha's left-footed effort goes just past the post. His team-mates aren't delighted that he shot rather than passed there, but it was a very close effort.
Substitution Saša Marković Goran Čausić
Substitution Raheem Sterling Andros Townsend
Andros Townsend has replaced Raheem Stirling for England, following the goal.
Penalty Goal Craig Dawson
Craig Dawson scores the penalty for England, smashing it into the right side of the net. Keeper guessed the correct way, but was nowhere near the powerful strike. England lead.
Adam Smith bursts into the box after his initial cross is blocked, and Milamovic brings him down.
Penalty to England!!
Substitution Filip Malbasic Miloš Jojić
Hour gone, and Zaha cuts in and hits a powerful effort which stings the palms of Aleksic. Good strike, but a comfortable height for the goalie.
Serbian sub, Jojic comes on for Malbasic.
The corner is half cleared and reaches Stirling on the edge of the box. His effort fizzes high and wide. The young winger really looks a threat tonight though, very impressive in his first Under 21 appearance.
Stirling brought down on the edge of the box but the ref plays advantage and Zaha wins a corner.
Seven minutes into the second half, and you get the feeling Serbia are happy to take a 0-0 back home with them following the return leg on Tuesday.
Adam Smith is getting involved down the right hand side, but England are yet to create anything this half so far.
Apparently Jack Rodwell was replaced due to a hamstring twinge.
Substitution Jack Rodwell Jason Lowe
England looking for a fast start, and they win an early corner.
Jason Lowe will replace Jack Rodwell for the second half, and we're underway.
All-in-all, not a bad half for England, who do look the more likely team to score first.
Danny Rose has looked threatening, as has Raheem Stirling and Marvin Sordell up front has shown some nice touches. Wilfried Zaha has not been in the game at all though really, and will hope to see a lot more of the ball after the interval.
So 0-0 at half-time then. England started brightly and Tom Ince could and maybe should have scored twice before Serbia created anything of note. After a period in which Stuart Pearce's side struggled, they ended the half much stronger with Ince and Henderson both going close to opening the scoring.
Henderson has a deflected effort from outside the box which goes over, and that's the whistle.
Stirling wins England a late corner.
After some good link up play with Marvin Sordell, captain Jordan Henderson shoots just over the top. Good effort from the skipper.
Tom Ince with a brilliant effort. After collecting a pass from Stirling - who has moved to the right - Ince lined up to have a crack on his left foot. His powerful drive just goes wide of the post. Almost a brilliant goal.
Yellow Card Filip Mladenović
Rodwell blasts over after a Craig Dawson knock down. Half a chance there for England.
Another booking. This time for Serb midfielder Filip Mladenovic
England are struggling to create chances, and haven't had a sighting of goal for a little while now.
Henderson gets a telling off from the ref for a high footed challenge.
The commentators are saying it and it's true; England look their most threatening coming down the left. Both Danny Rose and Raheem Stirling seem to be enjoying themselves so far, even though they haven't broken the Serbian resistance just yet.
Markovic shoots from distance, but it doesn't trouble Butland.
Wilfried Zaha finally gets the ball out on the right, but his touch eludes him as he tries to go past the Serbian left-back. The Palace man hasn't got into this one yet.
Serbia with their first chance, but Lazovic heads over at the back post. He should've at least got it on target.
The referee is having an odd game. After an early flurry of bookings including one for Stirling which was extremely harsh, he's stopped using his card despite a number of worse fouls. Strange.
Rodwell with another pop after good work from Ince, but the Man City midfielder fires over.
Direct running from Raheem Stirling but goes down too easily and is never going to win a penalty.
Had a tweet from @doninio13 who believes Stirling shouldn't be in the team here tonight - he should actually be on the wing at Wembley in the senior's game versus San Marino. Big shout.
Tom Ince with another chance that he could've buried. Stirling fed the Blackpool striker but his first touch showed far too much to Aleksic.
Rodwell wriggles free and shoots from the edge of the box, but Aleksic in the Serbia goal saves comfortably.
Rodwell makes a good interception and feeds Sordell who tries to cleverly cut the ball back and wins a corner.
Well just as I say that, Danny Rose delivers a brilliant ball to the back-post and Tom Ince's header rather skims off his head and goes wide of the target. Unlucky.
A real lack of shots or goalmouth action yet.
Aleksandar Pantic was that second Serbia player booked by the way.
Yellow Card Raheem Sterling
Yellow Card Aleksandar Pantic
One of the Serbian's was booked for dissent after Ince was fouled, and now Raheem Stirling has been carded too for absolutely nothing. The ref isn't shy here tonight.
Tom Ince is fouled after some brilliant skill to beat two men. Free-kick, dangerous position.
Bit of a slow start from both sides here, not much of note going on other than the early booking.
Yellow Card Đorđe Despotović
36 seconds and we have a yellow card. Craig Dawson is upended late by Djordje Despotovic, who is booked.
We're underway at Carrow Road.
Looks like England are lining up in a similar way to how the senior side do, playing 4-2-3-1, unlike the 4-5-1 as previously stated. Ince, Sterling and Zaha make up the three, weaving their magic behind lone front man Marvin Sordell.
My name is Joe by the way, and if you have anything to say on the game tonight, tweet me @Joe_McPhee9.
England subs: Steele, Lees, Bennett, Lowe, McEachran, Townsend, Wickham. Serbia subs: Kirovski, Petkovic, Kosanovic, Jojic, Causic, Kojic, Mudrinski.
In case you were wondering, Serbia line-up: Aleksic; Gudelj, Pantic, Medojevic, Mladenovic; Milivojevic, Markovic, Malbasic, Lazovic; Milunovic, Despotovic.
Stirling will be looking to make an impact similar to the one he has made on the first-team at Anfield this season, and it will be interesting to see him for the first time at this level tonight.
So, England then will line-up 4-5-1: Butland; Smith, Caulker, Dawson, Rose; Sterling, Henderson, Rodwell, Ince, Zaha; Sordell
Just four players - Caulker, Rose, Henderson and Ince - played in England's final group game with Norway last month. Raheem Stirling is making his international debut at this level.
After topping their qualifying group, you may have thought that Stuart Pearce's side had already secured their place in the Euro 2013 finals in Israel next year but unfortunately not. Two legs against Group 4's unbeaten winners Serbia, starting with tonight's game at Carrow Road, will now determine the Three Lions fate.
Good evening ladies and gents, and welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of England under 21s European Championship play-off first leg against Serbia.
