  • FULL-TIME here at the Coface Arena. Dortmund in the end hanging on. It was a thoroughly entertaining match especially in the first half when Mainz took the lead courtesy of a stunning strike by Caligiuri. Dortmund weren't down for long though as Reus whipped in a dangerous cross which eluded everyone including Weltko in goal. Then Lewandowski ensured the points were safe before half-time with a delicate chip over the keeper. A deserved victory for Jurgen Klopp's men who continue their fine run of form in November.
  • 90' + 1'
Into stoppage time. Schmelzer puts in another block, Dortmund frantically trying to get the ball away, Pospech puts in another cross but it drifts through to Weidenfeller. Almost certain to be the last chance.
  • 90'
Oooh Risse found some space in the box and he looked to be shaping to hit the shot but Schmelzer did brilliantly to nick it off the substitute.
  • 89'
Mainz bring the ball forward, really is last-chance saloon for the hosts now. Dortmund defending in numbers and are just happy to boot it anywhere.
  • 87'
Risse takes the set-piece and it's a waste to be honest, could have put it into the box instead he attempts a speculative shot that drifts over the bar - never troubling Weidenfeller.
  • 86'
Well here's a chance Leitner gives away a foul its about 30 yards out...
  • 85'
    SubstitutionNicolai Müller Ivan Klasnic
  • 84'
Szalai gives away possession just as Mainz looked as though they could have made something of that opportunity. Lewandowski takes the ball for a walk down the left wing as he attempts to run down the clock.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionMario Götze Ivan Perisic
  • 83'
Dortmund force a corner as Reus fires the ball into the box it's cleared for a corner. Hummels header is over the bar from the resulting chance.
  • 81'
    Yellow Card Bo Svensson
Lewandowski rides the challenge from Svensson as the big Dane goes through the back of him. It looked a promising counter on the half way line but that has killed the momentum in the move.
  • 78'
Well Dortmund seem quite content to soak up the pressure and try hold out for a 2-1 victory. Mainz are struggling to break down the visitors defence another cross is far too deep and misses everybody.
  • 75'
    Yellow Card Nicolai Müller
  • 75'
The last two encounters have finished 2-1 to Dortmund, is this going to be a third? Mainz will need something special to get an equaliser but the crowd are doing everything they can to give their side inspiration.
  • 73'
    SubstitutionJakub Blaszczykowski Kevin Großkreutz
  • 73'
Kuba is replaced Grosskeutz. it hasn't been his best game it has to be said perhaps fresh legs might give Dortmund the impertus to get a third and kill this match off.
  • 72'
A timely challenge from Marco Reus, demonstrates his defensive capabilities. Risse has looked lively since coming on and it was his shot that Reus managed to block. The resulting corner is poor.
  • 70'
Wow! What is Weltko doing there? Dortmund send in a cross and the goalkeeper volleys it clear instead of catching what seemed a comfortable cross. The big shot-stopper is at it again coming rushing out to clear the ball and Gotze tries an audacious lob to catch the keeper out of position but skews his attempt wide.
  • 68'
Oh and it was nearly the killer ball from Reus there just infront of the Mainz defence, he spots Gotze's late run into the box, the hosts are caught square, the Germany international looks certain to be through on goal if the pass is right. But, Reus uncharacteristically, can't find his man.
  • 66'
Muller spurns a glorious chance to put more pressure on the visitors' backline, Risse feeds him out wide, he has time to put in a cross but it is high wide and not very handsome.
  • 64'
The resulting free-kick from Schmelzer eventually forces a corner. Subotic is up there for the header - Weltko is stranded - but he can't connect with the ball.
  • 63'
    SubstitutionAndreas Ivanschitz Nikita Rukavytsya
  • 62'
    Yellow Card Radoslav Zabavnik
  • 62'
A lovely searching ball from Reus, fizzes it with the outside of his foot and finds Kuba on the right hand side. He is unceremoniously chopped to the ground by Zabavnik and goes into the referee's book.
  • 60'
Mainz retain possession in the midfield playing nice one-two's around the middle of the park. Soto, who has particularly been impressive for the hosts, then tries a delicate chip over top looking to release Szalai but the ball is too hard and goes straight through to Weidenfeller.
  • 58'
It's turning into a really fiesty encounter with challenges flying in left, right and centre in the middle of the park. Reus tackles Ivanschitz and almost creates an opportunity for Dortmund but it is intercepted while Ivanshitz then plays the ball forward but Hummels is there to block.
  • 56'
Mainz now attack down the left hand side Muller puts Piszczek under all sorts of pressure but the Poland international is equal to the challenge.
  • 54'
OOOHHH GREAT PLAY. Well what an impact that would have been from sub Risse who bombs down the right wing squares the ball across and the Dortmund defence have to hack it out for a corner.
  • 52'
Oh a nasty challenge there from Svensson. Gotze is running at pace, jinking inside causing a nuisance and the Dane just stops him in his tracks. Free-kick comes to nothing though.
  • 49'
OOOH WHAT A CHANCE THAT WAS! Baumgartlinger gives away the ball in a suicidal position, it falls to Lewandowski, who you would expect to score but Weltko makes amends of the Austrian's howler and the score remains 2-1.
  • 47'
Dortmund sloppy in possession and Szalai almost gets the opportunity to take on the BVB defence but Hummels gets the better of the Hungarian.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionMarco Caligiuri Marcel Risse
  • 46'
The teams are out for the second half and we're underway here. Zabavnik immediately fouls Gotze too far out to do anything meaningful with the ball.
  • Well that signals the end of what has been a thoroughly entertaining first half in the Coburn Arena. Dortmund have a 2-1 lead, though, Mainz will feel aggrieved to be behind at half-time. The visitors look decidedly dodgy at the back and Mainz could exploit this in the second half. You always get the impression though that BVB can score more if they want to.
  • 45' + 1'
    Yellow Card Adam Szalai
  • 45'
PENALTY?!! Well Klopp certainly thought so he is remonstrating with the fourth official as Gotze was tackled from behind difficult call for the ref!
  • 43'
    Assist Mario Götze
  • 43'
    Goal Robert Lewandowski
GOOAAALLL!! And who else but Lewandowski! A lovely taken goal. He got in behind Pospech who was caught ball watching, the Poland international showed all the composure in the world to nick the ball over Wetklo. Sumptuous.
  • 40'
OOOOOH!! Another great opportunity for Mainz! Baumgartlinger gets the challenge in on Gotze which sets up the counter, a long ball over the top finds Ivanschitz - they seem to be getting a lot of joy from this move - and he drags his shot agonisingly wide.
  • 38'
Mainz by no means overawed by the Bundesliga champions and their fans sound their appreciation as Pospech puts in another hard but fair crunching challenge on Gotze.
  • 36'
Baumgartlinger, who has had a fairly quiet game, wakens up and has a speculative attempt from about 30 yards. But, the Dortmund defence gets bodies in front of the shot and it spins out for a throw in on the far right hand side.
  • 34'
    SubstitutionIlkay Gündogan Moritz Leitner
  • 32'
OOH CHANCE! Well the Dortmund defence was caught sleeping there. Zabavnik delivers a ball across and Ivanschitz can't connect properly, though, he did well to find space in between Hummels and Subotic. Pospech then has an attempt from a corner but it goes over.
  • 30'
Half an hour played and it has been a great start to the game. Caligiuri scored a stunning goal to open the scoring before Reus got the visitors back on level terms. Dortmund looking to make it two but Svensson cuts out the danger as well. Meanwhile, it looks as though Gundogan's match is over.
  • 28'
Gundogan looks in real pain here goes down awkwardly after a challenge with Noveski. He tries to cut out the pass and he's been caught on the follow-through. The 22-year-old goes off to get some treatment.
  • 26'
Lewandowski spurns a superb opportunity for Dortmund. Schmelzer does really well down the left before cutting the ball back for the Poland striker, who is standing near the penalty spot. He hesitates for a moment and the execution is poor which gives Mainz the chance to block.
  • 24'
OOOHHH SO CLOSE! Mainz nearly make it two themselves! A quick counter releases Muller and he gets in behind the visitors defence, but can't take advantage as his screws his right-foot effort wide of the post.
  • 22'
Well what a tremendous interception from Svensson, it could have easily been a second goal for Dortmund. Gundogan and Reus link-up well in the final third. The final ball from Gundogan nearly finds his team-mate but it is Svensson who anticipates the ball coming through and gets there first.
  • 20'
Dortmund are enjoying a lot of possession and have registered that Mainz's left-back position is an area they can exploit. Kuba and Piszczek overlapping, Kuba fires in another ball it's over hit and finds Reus on the other side but he can't keep the shot down.
  • 18'
More pressure from the visitors as Kuba whips in another dangerous ball from the right hand side, Wetklo again is there to cut out the cross but you can see that BVB are starting to get into their stride.
  • 16'
Dortmund have another chance, Schmelzer sends in a cross but it's too close to Wetklo which is comfortable for the 32-year-old.
  • 14'
Lewandowski tries to set up another opportunity as he sees the flying Piszczek down the right hand side. He tries to thread the ball behind the left-back but it is intercepted.
  • 11'
    Assist Marco Reus
  • 11'
    Goal Robert Lewandowski
GOAAALLL! Curse of the commentator or what? Dortmund get back on level terms and there's an air of uncertainty as to who will be credited with it. Reus cuts in from the left hand side and it's one of those balls that goes straight through everyone - Lewandowski tries to nick the ball - but he does enough to put off the goalkeeper and it nestles into the corner! Game on!
  • 10'
Ten minutes into this match and Dortmund have yet to settle into this game. The Mainz midfield is looking very sharp, Gotze, Reus and Kuba yet to stamp their authority on the proceedings.
  • 9'
Well what a start by the hosts they really look pumped up for this. Zabavnik nearly finds Szalai but Weidenfeller snuffs out the danger. Are Dortmund suffering from a European hangover?!
  • 7'
Well Subotic has just welcomed himself to the game clattering into the back of Ivanschitz as he went for the ball.
  • 5'
It's the Colombian Soto who plays an inch-perfect pass to Caligiuri and that is his first goal of the Bundesliga campaign, what a way to open your account!
  • 4'
    Assist Elkin Soto
  • 4'
    Goal Marco Caligiuri
GOOOAAAAL!!! OOOH what an unbelievable strike that is! Caligiuri has netted an absolute screamer there. It's a great through ball and it's hit first time on the volley with a lovely left foot drive into the top corner what a start!
