  A colossus at the back. Headed away everything that came his way and kept Ba and Torres from getting anywhere near goal for the most part. Denied Lampard with a brave block in the game's dying embers.

  With Sissoko pushed further forward, Cabaye was allowed to play in his natural deeper position and orchestrate the Magpies' attack. Evidently has a great understanding with Debuchy and found him time after time with accurate cross-field passes.

  Moussa Sissoko Top of the Match

  Looks to be an absolute steal at a reported £2 million as the Frenchman completely bossed the midfield. Constant running, incisive passing and strong tackling were capped off as he followed in Gouffran to tap home his side's second and slammed home the game's winner late on.

  The Senegal international made a swift return to St James' Park and was booed throughout his time on the pitch by the home fans. Wasted a one-on-one with Krul before heading the rebound wide as Coloccini kicked him in the face. The challenge broke his nose and forced him off after the opening goal was scored.
