James McManus at the Boleyn Ground: "It wasn't pretty but QPR have managed to clinch yet another draw under the guidance of Harry Redknapp at Upton Park today courtesy of Loic Remy's debut goal as they bid to keep their hopes of beating the drop alive. West Ham were the much better side in the second half and they absolutely dominated a tiring Hoops midfield but just lacked that crucial bit of quality, with their profligate finishing costing them points yet again at home."
West Ham are forced to settle for a point against QPR after Harry Redknapp's side withstood heavy pressure throughout the match following Loic Remy's opening goal but restricted their opponents to a solitary goal. The Hoops took advantage of poor defending from the Hammers' poorly protected high defensive line at the start of the first half as Adel Taarabt received the ball in space and picked out Remy behind the defence with a through ball for the France international to finish confidently. However the away side went on to sit back and defend their lead through the rest of the match as the Hammers grew stronger and stronger. Carlton Cole built on Marouane Chamakh's hold-up play after coming on in the second half and gradually brought winger Matt Jarvis into the game, and his excellent cross eventually brought about an equaliser when Julio Cesar could only parry Carlton Cole's header into the path of Joe Cole who tapped in the equaliser. The powerful Mohamed Diame and canny Kevin Nolan impressed throughout and continued to work opportunities at goal as the Hammers searched for a winner, but QPR held on for a draw as their experienced defensive core of Stephane M'Bia and Shaun Derry protected centre-backs Ryan Nelsen and Clint Hill until the final whistle blew.
90' + 5'
West Ham's final attack sees Jarvis pick up the ball on the left flank, but Nedum Onuoha's wise defending sees the winger lose possession in the last act of the game.
90' + 4'
Mark Noble lofts the ball into the box but his delivery is poor and allows Julio Cesar to claim without trouble. His long kick reaches Remy and the France international looks for Bothroyd in the box but the Hammers clear and continue to seek a winner.
90' + 3'
Clint Hill foolishly fouls Carlton Cole in an aerial challenge outside the box.
90' + 2'
QPR look set to hang on for a draw here as West Ham's attacks are beginning to take on a more speculative and hopeful quality.
The Hammers win another corner after Clint Hill is unable to cleanly head away Reid's long ball. Cole's delivery reaches Reid on the edge of the six-yard box but the New Zealand international heads over the bar amid heavy pressure from Ryan Nelsen.
QPR get a rare chance to relieve the pressure as Jay Bothroyd does well to find Park Ji-Sung as the pair briefly retain the ball in West Ham's half.
Ricardo Vaz Te
West Ham add striker Ricardo Vaz Te in Nolan's place before Joe Cole's corner from the right flank, but Cole's delivery is headed out for a throw-in taken by Demel and West Ham again look to hem QPR in approaching the final whistle.
Jarvis' cross is headed away by M'Bia and the powerful midfielder has the chance to run up the pitch in a rare break. Winston Reid shows his defensive acumen to hold up the Cameroon international and force a bout of indecision as his final pass is poor.
Joe Cole has a half-chance to net a winner after he receives the ball on the right edge of the box with Julio Cesar well off his line, but the goalkeeper forces Cole wide and his shot is blocked by Fabio.
West Ham force another goalmouth scramble as Winston Reid's powerful shot is blocked by M'Bia. The move triggers another corner from which Winston Reid's effort hits the side netting.
Carlton Cole holds the ball up before laying off to Diame, who creates space for the shot before powering an effort wide of the right post with his weaker left foot.
Diame wins a free kick on the right flank after a foul from Fabio, and after taking the kick quickly the Hammers win a throw-in, which Julio Cesar claims after Demel's delivery.
Matt Jarvis is ruled offside after an excellent run inside from the left flank, as the Hammers seek a winning goal.
Yellow Card James Tomkins
James Tomkins is rightly yellow carded for a dangerous challenge on Armand Traore as he looked to break down the left flank.
M'Bia commits a foul on the edge of the box and West Ham's Joe Cole and Mark Noble conspire to take the kick short to Jarvis on the left edge of the box, catching the Hoops unaware. Jarvis attempts to put the ball across the six yard box with one touch of his weaker left foot and is annoyed with himself when he shanks the ball over the bar. He has been impressive in the second half overall however.
Jay Bothroyd's free-kick hits the wall and QPR are unable to capitalise on the set piece.
Goal Joe Cole
Guy Demel reaches a long ball on the right flank and his cross flies well over the box but the Hammers keep the attack alive. Jarvis floats another dangerous cross into the box with his weaker left foot, and Carlton Cole rises highest at the near post to head the ball towards the bottom right corner. Julio Cesar makes another good save diving to his left but Joe Cole is on-hand to tap in the equaliser.
The work-rate of Jamie Mackie on the right flank is replaced by the height up front of Jay Bothroyd, as Loic Remy moves onto the right flank where he has often played throughout his career.
Armand Traore attempts to reach a through-ball from Taarabt but is rightly called offside.
Carlton Cole receives a pass on the right edge of the box and wins a corner from Clint Hill. The delivery is headed away from the edge of the six-yard box but the Hammers win a throw-in from which Carlton Cole swings in an impressive cross that his teammates are unable to reach.
Chamakh is withdrawn in a like-for-like switch for Carlton Cole. The Hammers fans boo the switch, as Chamakh had been becoming increasingly influential after building on a rusty start with a series of flick-ons and clever link-up play. His two headed chances were not easy but he forced a pair of good saves from Julio Cesar in his team's search for an equaliser.
Chamakh brings Diame into play and the Hammers work the ball to Jarvis on the left flank. Jarvis again gets to the bye-line and crosses for Chamakh who rises high into the air to head down towards the bottom right corner, forcing a good save from Julio Cesar.
Redknapp makes a defensive move as he brings on natural left-back Armand Traore in place of winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has been uninfluential today.
M'Bia hobbles off the pitch amid jeers from the home fans, as he complains about the Hammers' playing on as they sensed an equaliser. Redknapp's side are under heavy pressure and are struggling to hang on.
Jarvis puts in another dangerous cross from the left flank and M'Bia is hurt as he blocks Diame's volleyed attempt at goal from the right edge of the six yard box.
Chamakh forces a point-blank save from Julio Cesar! Jarvis clips in a dangerous cross from the left flank that is headed on at the near post towards the Moroccan. Chamakh is unable to get power on his header but Julio Cesar is still forced into an excellent save low to his left, instigating a frantic goalmouth scramble that ends with a header over the bar.
Joe Cole slams in a shot from the right edge of the box and Julio Cesar does well to parry his powerful shot away from danger.
Joe Cole displays good balance to break to the bye-line on the right flank after combining with Guy Demel, but his cross is cleared.
Chamakh wins a free-kick on the right flank after an aerial challenge from Clint Hill. Joe Cole's delivery is headed away at the near post but QPR cannot clear and West Ham continue to pressure with men committed forward.
Jarvis opens the half with a poor corner from the left flank.
QPR get the second half underway at the Boleyn Ground. No changes at half-time.
West Ham's combination of a high defensive line and inability to consistently mark Adel Taarabt in between the lines looked foolish from the outset and Loic Remy eventually capitalised. But since then QPR have sat back and defended against the Hammers' attack, which has relied heavily on long balls towards Marouane Chamakh but has resulted in a number of spells of heavy pressure on the edge of the Hoops' box. The Moroccan striker has won an impressive number of headers and Matt Jarvis' crossing has looked dangerous, but the Hammers have been unable to break through the Hoops' massed ranks at the back so far. At half-time, Sam Allardyce must attempt to find a strategy to attempt an equaliser without exposing his side to the pace of Loic Remy on the counter.
James McManus at the Boleyn Ground: "As the half is brought to a close, QPR go in at the break with a slender but deserved one-goal lead courtesy of Loic Remy's fine finish, but it's been far from a classic and has quickly descended into a scrappy affair with West Ham guilty of using the long ball far too often. Sam Allardyce is going to have to come up with a different plan in the second half, for his side look devoid of ideas and craft in the final third, looking every inch like a team in a poor run of form."
45' + 2'
The referee blows the half-time whistle.

Chamakh wins another flick-on in the box and as Diame attempts to hold the ball up, Nelsen wins the ball with a powerful and accurate sliding challenge.
Joe Cole gets on to a flick-on from Nolan but is ruled offside as he attempts to shoot at goal from the left edge of the box.
Fabio hits a long, straight delivery from his own half towards Chamakh, whose accurate headed flick-on forces Nelsen to use his experience and chest the ball back to keeper Julio Cesar.
Joe Cole takes an inswinging free kick from the left flank, but QPR hold a high line and Chamakh heads wide as he is forced to attempt a header from the edge of the box.
Impressive link-up play from Chamakh, Diame and Joe Cole leads Jarvis to the opportunity to win a corner, and the delivery from the left flank is met by Tomkins but flies wide for a goal kick. These Hammers set pieces have QPR hemmed in but Redknapp's side do have pace on the counter-attack and remain a threat.
Joe Cole takes a corner from the right flank which is cleared, before Jarvis puts the ball in from the other flank and is cleared. QPR look to break clear through Remy but the move breaks down.
West Ham are now pressuring QPR heavily and Joe Cole neatly turns on the edge of the box before attempting to find Chamakh with a through-ball into the centre of the box, although the striker is caught unaware.
Diame makes space to shoot on the edge of the box and his shot is blocked. Moments later he waits for support from his teammates before putting in a cross, and QPR again struggle to clear.
Joe Cole delivers a free kick from near the right corner flag but the delivery is cleared.
James McManus: "West Ham are desperately unlucky not to get a penalty here as Marouane Chamakh goes down under some heavy pressure in the box from Jamie Mackie, with Howard Webb giving a goal kick instead, a decision which is then greeted by a chorus of boos by the home faithful. As the old adage goes, you've seen them given."
Matt Jarvis advances up the left flank before support from Joey O'Brien allows him to put the cross in. QPR struggle to clear the ball and West Ham look to hem them in. Chamakh attempts to hold onto the ball in the penalty box and his two appeals for a penalty are turned down after heavy pressure from Clint Hill among others. The striker stays on his feet when perhaps he could have gone down.
Chamakh attempts to control a long ball in the QPR box but the wily Shaun Derry holds him up until support arrives to win the ball, with the Moroccan complaining he was fouled but to no avail.
Shaun Derry floats the ball into the box but the Hammers clear.
Taarabt shows outstanding dribbling ability to break away from his marker and Mark Noble fouls the playmaker on the edge of the centre circle.
Taarabt shows his excellent passing range again with a ball from the left flank into Jamie Mackie on the right. Mackie drives into the box and wins a corner with his shot which is deflected wide, but the Hammers deal with the delivery successfully.
M'Bia clears the length of the pitch with one touch, and it seems clear that QPR are looking to consolidate their lead rather than push for a second immediately.
Taarabt again picks the ball in the centre of the park and lays the ball off for Wright-Phillips, who wastefully shoots well wide.
Winston Reid wins the ball from Taarabt with a powerful challenge to end the Moroccan's run from the right flank.
Chamakh drops off the front line looking to connect with Joe Cole, but the Hammers' attack is repelled.
Taarabt looks for another through-ball in behind the Hammers' high line, this time to Wright-Phillips on the left, but his ambitious effort is overhit.
Tomkins finds Nolan with a pass out of defence, who works the ball to Jarvis on the left flank. Jarvis aims a cross towards Nolan but QPR clear through Stephane M'Bia.
James McManus: "It's QPR that have gone ahead in the 13th minute and Harry Redknapp's gamble in handing new signing Loic Remy his debut so shortly after moving to the club has paid off, when against the run of play, Adel Taarabt finds space just inside the West Ham half before playing a lovely pass in behind the back four with the outside of his right boot for the France international to run onto, before coolly slotting home past Jussi Jaaskelainen at his near post. Fantastic finish."

Goal Loïc Remy
Goal Loic Remy! Taarabt receives the ball out of defence and is given ample time to pick out a through ball with the outside of his right foot to the France international, who runs in behind Tomkins from the right channel and finishes confidently with his right foot into the bottom right corner. This is poor from the Hammers, with Taarabt given time again to look for a through-ball behind the West Ham defence.
Joe Cole's corner is cleared before it can reach the head of Chamakh but the Hammers put the ball straight back into the box and QPR are unable to clear. Sam Allardyce's team have the Hoops hemmed in for a long time after that corner.
Diame wins another corner on the left flank. The Senegal international has been given license to attack in the opening few minutes and has used it impressively.
West Ham float in a free kick from the centre circle directly at Julio Cesar, but Nolan gets close to diverting the ball into the net having stretched to reach the ball.
Diame wins another corner which is taken short, but keeper Julio Cesar is eventually able to claim the ball.
Jaaskelainen catches a cross whipped in from the right flank.
Matt Jarvis receives a flick-on from Marouane Chamakh and wins a corner. The corner is taken quickly and Mohamed Diame shows impressive strength to take the ball inside the box at the byeline on the left edge of the box. His low cross rolls across the box but is pushed out for another corner from the right flank. Reid flicks on the delivery at the near post and Kevin Nolan's volley is blocked by a reflex save from Julio Cesar. A good chance for West Ham!
Taarabt looks again for Loic Remy down the right channel but the French international is caught offside again by James Tomkins and Winston Reid's high line. Eventually it looks like that run will yield a good chance though, with Taarabt finding ample time on the ball in between the lines.
Loic Remy looks to run onto a through-ball from Taarabt but is well offside.
Jamie Mackie gets inside Joey O'Brien on the right flank and his cross is headed out by Mohamed Diame for a corner. Adel Taarabt's delivery is headed over the bar by Clint Hill for a goal kick.
West Ham get the game underway!
James McManus at the Boleyn Ground: "Fittingly considering it's a game between two London clubs today, with east meets west, The Clash's London Calling is booming out of the Tanoy system. To paraphrase Ian Rush, Loic Remy must really feel like he's in a foreign country here with bubbles flooding onto the pitch."
Harry Redknapp gives Loic Remy his debut in attack alongside Jamie Mackie and Shaun-Wright Phillips, with playmaker Adel Taarabt backed by Shaun Derry and Stephane M'Bia in midfield.
Sam Allardyce gives Arsenal loanee Marouane Chamakh the opportunity to impress up front in a lone striker's role, with the forward ineligible to feature mid-week against Arsenal. Matt Jarvis and Joe Cole feature either side of him with Kevin Nolan attacking from midfield, while Mohamed Diame and Mark Noble return in the centre of the park.
QPR: Julio Cesar; Onuoha, Nelsen, Hill, Fabio; Derry, M’Bia; Mackie, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips; Remy. Subs: Green, Traore, Ferdinand, Park, Faurlin, Hoilett, Bothroyd.
West Ham: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Tomkins, Reid, O’Brien; Noble, Diame; J Cole, Nolan, Jarvis; Chamakh. Subs: Spiegel, Potts, Taylor, Diarra, Collison, Vaz Te, Cole.
James McManus at the Boleyn Ground: "West Ham manager Sam Allardyce states in his programme notes that "Joint-Chairman David Sullivan and David Gold and vice-chairman Karen Brady are celebrating their third anniversary in charge of the club this afternoon." However, after picking up just four points from their last five league games, the pressure is on Allardyce to halt the club's desperately poor form of late, starting with QPR today, with former player and manager Harry Redknapp in the opposite dugout likely to be welcomed home with open arms to the Boleyn Ground."
West Ham have collected just one win in their last eight matches and will be happy to be back at home, and face a QPR side who recovered from three successive defeats over the Christmas period with away wins over Chelsea and West Brom and a draw at home to Tottenham, and are now boosted by the arrival of Loic Remy.
