Everton welcome back top-scorer Marouane Fellaini, after the Belgium international served a one-match ban for notching up five yellow cards. Tony Hibbert (groin) could also make a comeback to first team action after making the bench against Norwich on Saturday.

Darron Gibson (groin) is lacking match fitness, but played 63 minutes for the Under-21s on November 18 so could make the bench. Victor Anichebe and Kevin Mirallas are both expected to return from hamstring injuries but are set for the bench. Phil Neville (knee) remains a long-term absentee after undergoing surgery.

Arsene Wenger will be without Abou Diaby (thigh) and Andre Santos (abdominal). However, they will be buoyed by the likely return of Theo Walcott from a shoulder injury which has kept him out of contention recently.

Tomas Rosicky (achilles) has been back in training with the first team, and his return to action is said to be "imminent" by Arsenal, but he is unlikely to start at Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old has been in sparkling form for Everton this season, scoring vital goals and also laying on plenty for his team-mates. The Toffees look a completely different side when the Belgium international is involved, as his aerial presence and strength on the ball provides an outlet for the defence and a pivotal point of attack. If Arsenal are to keep Fellaini contained, the defenders will have to get tight to him and limit his time on the ball.

Much like Fellaini for Everton, Arsenal look a lot more dangerous when the 23-year-old is in the side. His lightning pace is a threat to any defender in the Premier League and he has been linking up well with the rest of the Gunners' attack. If he can find the finishing touch that saw him bag a hat-trick against Reading at the end of last month, he will give the hosts' defence plenty to think about.
Prediction
Both sides are playing good football this season, with Arsenal perhaps finding some form at the same time as Everton are dropping off a little. It's a must-win for both managers if they are to keep their hopes of a top-four finish riding high into the busy December period, and with influential players returning to teams it looks as though they may well just cancel each other out.
