Swansea are without regular left-back Neil Taylor (ankle) through long-term injury, 19-year-old Ben Davies is set to continue in his place having done so for Wales over the international break, with newly signed Dwight Tiendalli another option.

Centre-back Kyle Bartley (thigh) is also out with a long-term issue that might not see him return until the New Year.

Roberto Martinez saw many of his squad go away on international duty but has suffered no casualties, although he is still without Antolin Alcaraz (groin), so Maynor Figueroa is set to continue on the left of a back three with Jean Beausejour at left wing-back.

Playmaker Shaun Maloney is likely to start alongside striking duo Franco Di Santo and Arouna Kone, while Jordi Gomez could feature at some point. Midfielder Fraser Fyvie (ankle) is doubtful.

The Ivorian’s contribution brought a goal and an assist for fellow striker Franco Di Santo against Everton in his last match for the Latics, and their developing partnership with has brought six out of his side’s seven league goals so far this season.
Prediction
Michael Laudrup’s side have a tough run of fixtures following this Saturday’s encounter and will be keen to ensure they pick up three points after a failure to win in five league games. Wigan have similarly picked up just two points from their last five matches, and given their small squad’s exertions over the international break Roberto Martinez may find his side outgunned at the Liberty Stadium.
