Michael Laudrup is sweating on the fitness of defender Ashley Williams, who is fighting to recover from an ankle injury.

The Swans’ defence is already threadbare as they continue to be without the suspended Chico Flores, while Kyle Bartley (thigh) and Neil Taylor (ankle) are long-term injuries, but Gary Monk (back) could make it on to the bench.

If Williams recovers, the manager is likely to name the same side from their defeat at Aston Villa, with Pablo Hernandez awaiting his first start for the club.

Striker Nikica Jelavic (knee) is likely to miss out for Everton after colliding with the goalpost against Newcastle on Monday, meaning Victor Anichebe will come into the starting line-up.

David Moyes has no other new injury worries, with Darron Gibson (thigh) the only absentee, so the Toffees are likely to name a similar starting line-up that drew 2-2 with the Magpies on Monday.

The 24-year-old bagged a brace in the Swans’ 5-0 opening day demolition of QPR and has looked in fine form since. With new signing Pablo Hernandez waiting in the wings and itching for a start, Dyer has had to up his game, and has been in impressive form.
Leighton Baines

Baines is one of the Premier League’s reliable ever-presents, and has a mean left foot to boot. The England international opened the scoring for the Toffees in Monday’s draw with Newcastle, and provides a continued threat from crosses and free-kicks alike.
Prediction
Michael Laudrup is keen to establish the Liberty Stadium as a fortress, and the Swans will be hoping to bounce back from their disappointing defeat at Aston Villa last weekend.

Everton have stuttered recently, picking up one point from their last two games after winning their opening two, but are always capable of getting a result. This is likely to be an open, entertaining encounter and the sides are hard to split.
